Combining the cockroach's unkillable sigil with the corpse eater sigil of the maggots allows for a card that's effectively always on the board, no matter what. it's an incredibly broken combo if you can match the two

People have already told you about this, but if you have half the strength requirement for a weapon you can use it properly by two-handing it.

I've actually never seen the static card in my game before ( played the game twice ) . I had no idea that was a thing . Still finding out cool stuff after all this time .

You're slowly getting better and better, the only thing you haven't quite got a grasp of yet is how to truly break the game with certain combinations and events. You also value high cost cards way too highly (they are all pretty bad all things considered and just way too big of an investment most of the time) 20:09 Bifurcated totem would've been so op. I also wonder if you ever realize just how good the squirrel totem is 24:45 Not a second time. AHHHHH!! xD On a nice side note unrelated to the game: This video appeared at the bottom of the playlist like it should be instead of at the top like the previous parts ^^

for strength builds the clubs are the best weapons

a great way to farm souls in the early game is to go back to the bridge with the dragon and bait it to kill the hollows.

If you hold down on the d-pad you will automatically select your flask no matter what item you had selected before. It can be nice to be able to get your flask out without needing to cycle through every item in the way.

MECHANIC: you are trying hard not to over encumber yourself with weight, but that's for people who play dex builds so they can light/medium roll. I know you said you're going Dex, but that hasn't been your play style. Your are playing poise-tank style where you shield up and absorb the hit. For that style you want heavy armor, great poise and a beefy damage weapon. A better build with what you currently have might be the elite knight set and probably the halberd max upgrade. I really would recommend the black knight sword (if people are lucky enough to get any black knight weapon drop it usually becomes their main weapon). But you enjoy the long reach and quick stabs of the polearm weapons so I won't dissuade you from it. In dark souls, almost any weapon is your end game weapon, it's not like Skyrim where you are constantly looking for your next sword. You pick your weapon based on what move set works best for you.

I'm not sure if you realize this in later videos, but the only thing you get from upgrading shields is upping the attack of the actual shield, like if you two handed the shield and started bashing people with it. what you want to be looking for is the damage reduction on the right side of the stats, and that doesn't go up with upgrades. stability is also important, the higher that is, the less stamina blocking attacks takes. so i don't wanna say those levels you put into the shield were wasted exactly, but most of the time you don't need to upgrade a shield at all, unless it has spikes on it or something lol

MECHANIC: if you 2-hand a weapon that you aren't strong enough to use, you only need 2/3 the strength requirement.

Aswald, the "sins guy", is not really a covenant guy, yes he sells magic, but his main purpose is mainly gameplay, as you discovered you can attack npcs, and Aswald can help you make peace with them in case you make the mistake of aggroing them small advice about strength, let's take for example a weapon that needs 15 strength, but you only got 10, if you change the stance and use the weapon two handed you can use it, since using it with two hands add 50% of your strength to the weapon some weapons scaling changes when you upgrade them

I love how everyone goes from thinking the first castle was really hard, to realising the OTHER areas in the game can be way harder. Personally I think the Devs made that castle as an extended tutorial.

Have you figured out where to use the basement key in future videos? That's one that took me a little while. Also about the 2 handing comments, since it's only 1 button press to swap to 2 Handed it means that your shield can still be equipped and brought back out with a single button press. Can Be verry handy for emergency damage. I remember dying in this area as a somewhat young child and now I'm 28!

Call it a tip, experiment or a spoiler (i don't know) but there are a few Black Knights in the whole game. I guess some of them respawn. in darkroot area, there is one black knight. Black Knights have 20% chance of dropping the strongest weapon in Dark Souls 1. (& i mean the strongest) i hope you find it. (Bonus) also having more humanity or a special ring boosts item discovery rate.

Child 13 has been painfully misunderstood......If only there was a way to make a card with infinite sacrifices of 3 blood........Ouroboros is broken............... 3 nice little hints to ponder. :)

the covenants are more for PvP then anything else though the NPCs for the covenants will sale a variety of stuff.

Experimenting really only is a New Game+ thing when you're just playing for fun. If you're trying to beat the game, play as you normally do! That being said, the extra stuff in this game is vast and super fun to experience on your own time!

You can wield weapons with both hands that you normally cannot use with one hand due to insufficient strength, such as a halberd. Also you do more damage that way.

37:23 The sigil does work, and has some funny easter eggs. For example, if you put the sigil on a possum, it will turn into an "awesome possum". Also, if you lose right after using the dagger, your death card will be missing an eye.

The secret of the fire only works if you allow the adder (or any card with the touch of death sigil) or the ring worm to be eaten on the fire. Gave that one for free because there is no point in experimenting with defunct cards that tarnish your runs. Also watching that raven egg get eaten was such a sad moment it was such a good card. And finally I know you did the oil painting already but I wonder if it has changed again…

In case you wonder what was up with the cutesy black goat towards the end of the episode: It looked like that because of the weird eye you chose as a replacement on the second time, because it's a goat eye. Afaik this is the only thing that eye does tho, just a fun little easter egg.

so the "key hole" eye lets you see the world through they eyes of a goat. you can google goat eye if you want but yea they have interesting shaped pupils. so using that eye makes goat cards look cute. in terms of experimentation there are hidden effects some cards have. which you might need to pay extra attention to when using them or them dying. But yea if youre not feeling the experimentation theres no harm in moving on. theres a lot of obscure things which wouldnt come to mind naturally but in the end they arent really relevant to finishing the game just fun.... or in some cases broken lol. For example what does the ring worm do? its a pretty useless card..... but it does have 2 uses. 1 of which i wouldnt say is a spoiler now since you already found the ring in the clock. but if you had a ring worm but didnt have the ring then you would pass that trial in the cabin (i think?) and the table that those trials happen on also had 11 o'clock carved onto the table so if you hadnt of brute forced it that was your clue to find the ring.

I think you misunderstood the greater smoke. You can sacrifice it, but only for blood. You get the bones as a by-product of its sigil.

33:52 I think this message is a reference to the speedrunning community. It's possible to clip out of the map on those stairs and access a later part of the game early. It requires a very specific setup and would be nearly impossible to do accidentally.

Outside of a couple specific scenarios you are always better off using a ring that actually helps you stay alive than a ring of sacrifice. The main situation where a ring of sacrifice can be really good is when you die while carrying a lot of souls/humanity. If you wear the ring of sacrifice while attempting to recover your blood splat it will provide you with a layer of protection. If you die before you recover your splat the ring will break but your splat will not disappear. You get a 2nd chance to recover those valuable resources. Once you recover your souls then you can equip a more useful ring again. There's another good time to use a ring of sacrifice later but I won't spoil it 😜

You passing, instead of using your squirrel and stinkbug to put your Kraken out, at 39:25 made my soul cry... I was sooo upset and as I watched I just sat there being like "omg it actually worked out for him" cuz the rattler would've killed your Kraken and you would've been down n out. Just goes to show that I'm a bit quick to sacrifice for a short term increase. Well done for thinking further ahead than my blood thirsty butt. :P
