  • I've played both of the previous Daniel Mullins games, Pony Island & The Hex, but I hear Inscryption is considered the cream-of-the-crop content so far. I just can't wait to see what twisted evil spin has been incorporated into this card-battle like game. I've heard all these games take place within the same universe, so I'll be keeping an eye out for any story/lore connections I can find. I'm SUPER excited for this blind playthrough, and I hope you'll come along with me for the ride.
    I really hope you have an awesome time, and if you do, it would be amazing if you'd consider subscribing.
    Thanks,
    Benjamight

    Gosh, the Trapper's theme is just... it's unnerving. Especially with the sounds of the skinning knife in the background. Definitely one of my favorites from the game.

    Reginald is indeed the bartender from The Hex . The card even has the hat from his old bar game .
    Really cool how The Trapper and The Trader are the same mask just upside-down . You did really well in the boss fight .
    Stoat and Stinkbug start to look more and more deformed as the game goes on .

    To answer your question about the boon of double draw it’s every turn not just your first one

    Good job doing the Trapper/Trader first try! Playing pelts to block is a good strategy on every fight except that one, so I didn't expect you to win because you were playing all your pelts.
    I love the detail that the Trapper and Trader have the same mask, just flipped upside down. There's a lot of theories about whether or not they are even different people at all.
    Did you notice on the table at 26:00 that there's a clock carved into the wood that says 11:00? That's the time that you accidentally put into the clock to obtain the ring. So basically, it's supposed to be that you can get the ring after you make it to the final boss so that you can automatically get a boon every next run.

    • @BenjamightGaming
      @BenjamightGaming  10 дней назад

      Oooooh, so that's where the clock clue was. Thanks for pointing that out Ethan, I totally missed that.

    Def keep talking to the green goo, he def has a lot to say.
    Ah the Ringworm card. You finally encountered it. All I'll say is it may have a use outside of combat.
    Finally you went to see the Bonelord lol. The location with the X on the card where you sacrificed the pelt. I'd def recommend going back and trying to sacrifice something else.
    Reginald is not a reference to the Hex or other games but a name relating to the lore of Inscryption(same with Louis). As to what they mean. We shall see.
    I absolutely love the Hunter/Trader boss fight music. Possibly my fav track in the game. It's so dope.
    I really like your Camera/Stoat/Stinkbug/Figurines theories. We'll have to see if they pan out. Keep theorizing.
    Can't believe you beat the Hunter/Trader first try. Great job(tho there was also a small part of me that wanted you to fail the boss fight lol)
    Can't believe you full on got to the Cabin Dude this ep. You finally got to see what he actually looks like. Love his design. I really love the kinda metaness of as the figurine entering the cabin that you the player have been playing this game in. Some trippy meta stuff and I love it. I can't say why yet but I am quite glad you failed his boss fight when you did.
    Also bravo you were able to figure out the picture frame puzzle. Most youtubers I watch don't figure it out. Now granted you needed quite a lot of hints from the Green Goo but still good job on realizing. I wait till next ep for you to solve it and see what secrets it reveals and to see what else you do.

      Thanks Palintir, I was pretty proud of making it to him in this run... it was hard not to use him as the thumbnail, but I kind of didn't want to spoil the surprise. I figured most people would figure I failed at the Hunter (and I wouldn't blame them...lol). It's so hard to start randomly sacrificing cards and experimenting with things at the campfire stations, because I'm still so focused on 'winning'...lol. I think I'm going to take the next couple runs to experiment, and not even shoot for a win. I think that will help me not feel like a 'failed' a run when I lose, because that wasn't my goal. ;-)

    • @Palintir10
      @Palintir10 28 дней назад +3

      Yeah I totally get that. Theres always that thought process for every run about what if this is THE run and then that gets you not wanting to take too big risks lol when its prob good to do most of that before an actual big run. You've found a large majority of the non story progression related puzzles and secrets in inscryption so far(great job) but there's def a few you haven't yet found that are really cool. And most of these secrets tend to make your deck or player stronger. Without spoiling if you don't find some of them soon you may never find them. Can't wait to see what experiments and risks you may try out lol. At least you already have one puzzle/secret you know about with the picture frame.
      Also thanks on the non spoiler thumbnail it was a nice uprise watching you beat the Hunter/Trapper in real time

    Now that you are a few runs in something cool that never happened to you is if you reached the Angler on your first run or if you reach the Trapper before your third run the dude running the game will say, "Too fast. Too soon." and 8 Grizzly cards with the Mighty Leap(Flying) Sigil then cover the oppenents side of the board basically garunteeing you die because you were progressing too quick. Would have loved to see your reaction to the Wall of Grizzlies cause its always a shocking moment lol but its also cool seeing your learning journey be more natural than the game basically telling you stop you are too quick rn you need to be punished lol.

      lol - oh man, I totally would have freaked out on that one.

  • @RealNazrax
    @RealNazrax 28 дней назад +2

    When you were up against the Trader, you started with 7 cards in your hand. Your Hand Tentacles were flying and weren't opposed by a flier blocker, so you could have immediately ended the round. With each card you played, the tentacles' power dropped, and I was so worried that you were going to drop its power so low that you wouldn't be able to one-shot the Trader (yes, another shouting-at-the-screen moment)! Thankfully, even though you dropped its power to 3, you still managed to get in enough damage in one turn.
    An "amalgam" is defined as "a mixture or blend." If you have any fillings, they're probably amalgam fillings.
    By now, you've managed to overcome most of your bad assumptions, but there's one that's been biting you for 4 episodes now and that doesn't show any signs of changing. Somehow, you've convinced yourself that bones and sacrifices are mutually exclusive, but that's just not the case. A _creature_ (e.g. not landscape) can be sacrificed, _even if it didn't cost blood to play;_ and a creature that gets sacrificed gives bones just as if an opposing creature killed it.
    For example:
    - You tend to play your "smoke" card in such a way that it'll be killed so you can get its bones. You can just sacrifice the smoke instead.
    - You had that fantastic 4 bones Black Goat, but if you wanted the bones you'd place it where it would be killed. Had you sacrificed it, you would have had the 3 blood _and_ the 4 bones.
    - Cheap 2 bones cards (e.g. the opossum) can act like an extra squirrel (it costs 2 bones to get them out, but when sacrificed they give one blood and one bone, so they're basically break-even)
    There's actual a visual indication of what cards can be sacrificed and what cards can't: sacrificable cards will shake (out of fear?) when you're choosing what cards to sacrifice.

    • @BenjamightGaming
      @BenjamightGaming  28 дней назад +1

      Wait, I can sacrifice bone cards too? I could have sworn I tried in an earlier episode, and it didn't let me. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll be sure to remember that. I was definitely a bit off though thinking about blood/bone type cards that are on the same... I'll try to do better with that as well.

    • @RealNazrax
      @RealNazrax 28 дней назад +1

      @@BenjamightGaming So, I just looked it up, to make sure I wasn't hallucinating :) I was reminded that, not only do cards which can't be sacrificed _not_ shake, but they all have very specific markings: the borders of the card are dotted instead of solid, and there's a dagger-with-an-X symbol in the lower-left corner. In addition to the obvious cards like trees and rocks, this also includes pelts and - interestingly - the Caged Wolf.

    • @SoTOreo
      @SoTOreo 10 дней назад

      @@RealNazrax ironically humans in real life have sacrificed many trees.... even some to extinction because loved the grain and color so much.... humans. always great at thinking ahead. also ironic that was the issue here not realizing he already won and planning ahead instead but i think the overkill ended about the same anyway?

    • @RealNazrax
      @RealNazrax 9 дней назад

      @@SoTOreo Yeah, it was the Vulture that saved him. He started out with a Flying 7/1 which wasn't opposed by Mighty Leap, so he would have won immediately. By the time he rang the bell, that card was all the way down to a 3/1, but his unopposed Vulture added enough damage to still win right away. With any other card, only the 3 from the Bell Tentacle would have made it through, and then the Adder would have killed the Tentacle - not to mention what else the opponent might have done. Granted, with the Grizzly in play Ben probably would have won anyway, but a "win now" is always better than a "probably win later" 🙂
      And, yes, my comment above failed to properly define "sacrifice" and ended up causing more confusion. I rectify that in a couple more episodes 😉

      @BenjamightGaming  29 дней назад +1

      So true. I know my blind playthroughs drive people nuts sometimes, because I make what seems like very stupid decisions, but sometimes (not all the time) it's literally I'm just ignorant of knowledge they have and I don't...lol. I always try to keep that in mind when reading comments - like I said, I'm usually pretty good at judging the difference between rude comments and comments made out of passion. :-)

    • @Palintir10
      @Palintir10 29 дней назад +3

      Anyone who truly gets frustrated at you simply cause you lack knowledge they have cause they already know the game def need to chill. Like it's literally not your fault you don't know something yet lol. And even if you do actually make some dumb desicions in a gameplay regardless of knowledge no reason to be nasty, we all make mistakes and are dumb at points. I know I've def made my fair share of -100 IQ choices playing games that make me want to rip my hair out once I realize my flawed desicion making lol.
      And tbh I'd say you are way more astute and perceptive than a lot of youtubers I've seen finding and discovering a lot more than most. Most of that comes down to you taking your time and exploring side paths before main paths and being able to fit different info you find together. Do you find everything? No but who even does on their first playthrough lol and some people forget that lol.
