- I've played both of the previous Daniel Mullins games, Pony Island & The Hex, but I hear Inscryption is considered the cream-of-the-crop content so far. I just can't wait to see what twisted evil spin has been incorporated into this card-battle like game. I've heard all these games take place within the same universe, so I'll be keeping an eye out for any story/lore connections I can find. I'm SUPER excited for this blind playthrough, and I hope you'll come along with me for the ride.

A lot of people struggle with the "new game" because it has a lot of new mechanics and completely changes the strategy of the game, plus you have to build your whole deck from scratch. Some people pick the beast cards because they're the most familiar but because there's no squirrel deck you have to completely alter how you think about building the deck.
That's understandable - I'm glad I picked a group I wasn't familiar with, probably helped me not try to play exactly how I did the first act of the game. This change over was so unexpected and so amazing at the same time.
the offering that the casket asks for is an obol. two halves make a whole, and you will meet the bone lord.

Smh at you struggling with the epitaphs lol(another clue you missed is defibulators are only about 100 years old so you can look at the death dates to see which ones died before they were invented)
Also something you didn't encounter in Act I but one of the deathcards you could have come across was named Kaycee. The same name as one of the ghost skeletons in Grimora's Crypt.

Great job defeating Leshy. One down four to go it seems.
Some tips that you may have already found out in the following eps but if you notice on the overhead map there's a pier in the Leshy area. Maybe try going to that.
Also maybe try using the Well again
That Mirror Room, maybe try walking into the Mirror
Try walking along the edges of areas in Leshy's area.
And that guy in the Crypt is the Bonelord from Act I and he wants an offering but you must first repair something that is broken.

You must have _really_ been missing Inscryption - I can't believe how quickly you recorded and posted a new episode after getting back from your vacation!
Scurvy is a disease caused by a severe lack of vitamin C. Sailors used to be afflicted by it because vitamin C is usually found in fresh food (especially citrus fruits), and sailing rations that kept for a long time didn't have any. The skeleton says "Yar, life didn't give me lemons, so I died."

Thanks RealNazrax - yeah, looking back at the lemon comment, it makes a lot more sense. I was thinking at it from a "Made lemonade out of lemons", which is why I was thinking there was a "No hard feelings" mindset there...lol. Amazing how phrases can be taken in many different directions, based solely on the thought someone has at the time.
You can use the enemy guardian sigil to your advantage by making them move in front of incoming cards.
Ouroboros 1/1 for 8 foils?! hmmm something fishy with that card....might be worth experimenting?
Just something to note: The ouroboros (the card in the trader's shop) is a card in Leshy's cabin. its stats increase every time it dies, and these stats persist. It's incredibly powerful if you build your deck around it.
Thanks for the tip Rodney. I have started to dabble with that card a little where I am in the playthrough, but still wasn't 100% sure if that stacking thing is how it worked (only killed it once so far), so it's nice to have confirmation.
@@BenjamightGaming it is a bit tricky, but you can also get the ouroboros' stats on a deathcard in the first chapter of the game (leshys cabin). pulling a card with that would basically give you a free win.
If you ever want to build a blood/ bone deck like i did grab the Squirril Ball card from the trader in Leshy's cabin. It generates free squirrels every turn.

i got into so much trouble in school for refusing to read out loud because i hated how it felt trying to pronounce words i was familiar with. its crazy that the teachers would always call on me knowing i would refuse and then when the pushed the issue i would give them the good old FU.... which always went over well. but the fact they knew this is how it was going to go very time makes me start to wonder if they were just being bullies and wanted to make their day more interesting by trolling the "problem child" i just wanted to be left alone. let me absorb the lessons and leave me be.... but nah lets get him suspended instead.
That sucks SoTOreo, sorry to hear that's how it went. I've never been a 'strong' reader, and reading out loud is definitely trickier (even more so with the nervousness of being in front of all your peers). When I started this channel, I had to decide up front if I was going to be a channel that reads everything or pretty much nothing (use the whole "Pause this and read it for yourself" comment in the videos...lol). I decided to just go for it, especially since I know a lot of people tend to just listen to RUclips like a podcast, so even if I butcher what I'm reading, at least it's a little extra entertainment...lol. Not sure I could have gotten myself to use that same mindset in school though. ;-)
@@BenjamightGaming yea i very much appreciate your reading of stuff. seen a lot of channels that dont. and watch a lot of tv reactions too so i tend to have most of the reaction/playthrough content on a second monitor so i can work on my main monitors. so always stinks when a channel i follow is watching subtitled anime because the anime fanboys hate on dubbed watches so bad even though dubbed voice acting has gotten pretty darn good and they dont alter the story nearly as much as they did in the 80s and 90s

And oh lord, falling into one of the typical new player pitfalls when it comes to card games: putting way more cards than necessary into your deck.
Also, you might want to think about using other cards as squirrel replacements instead of just squirrels, because squirrels are really only useful for sacrificing while the possible replacements can have other additional uses that might end up helping you greatly.

I make some adjustments in the next episode to my deck - it stays far larger than 20 cards, but man, it really works. :-)

Sure did... I think I point it out in an upcoming episode.
i kinda feel like these later parts of the game have some balancing issues. without a steady flow of squirrels and not having a choice between drawing a sacrifice card or a monster card you just gotta like fill your deck with skeletons and bone cards. i never went for high blood cards for this bit cause it was just too hard. also seems like they really werent expecting people to try other decks.. or perhaps figured people would start over until they picked the better choice. like i tried the mage deck and it seemed pretty impossible. i even went with the bone deck 2nd and while it was a stuggle to get going i did mostly bot cards with a bunch of skeletons since they were freebies
I think by the time I'm done with this section, my deck is mostly Beast & Bone, with a bit of Robots, and just a hint of Mox (literally only 2 Mox cards if I remember...lol).
You picked the bone deck, so you got all the necessary cards you need for a proper deck for it (like grave digger to get bones faster to play more bone cards) so try making a nostly bone deck until you get more cards of the other types.
I'm further in the episode now, you should be right to have a multi-type deck now, like you said, battery is almost like free since it charges every turn anyway, but also like you said, having 35 cards means you are less likely to draw the combination you need to win.
Might be worth building from scratch again now that you have squirrels, skeletons, grave diggers and battery cards.
I ended up recording 3 episodes this night, and modified a pretty solid multi-type deck (though with almost 0 magic cards...lol). It was awesome learning how to use different types to combat different scenarios. This game continues to blow me away.
I also commented this on your last video, but bone heap in the death area store is great for your bone deck. Combined with gravedigger amd skeletons
@@bobbydeclown8430 ohhh, that's where he heard bone heap card, he remembers it an episode or two later.
I like how we get to fight the npc versions of Leshy's bosses as his minions . Kinda wish Grimora's ones were a bit more unique design wise . The three of them are just skeletons and it feels like there could have been done more to show the ways they died .
I agree, the way they changed up Lethy's area for battles was awesome. I also like that you had to solve a small puzzle to even GET to the fight. As far as uniqueness of minions, I think the Mox area takes the cake for that... they were very creative in my opinion.
