- Never played Dark Souls, never played a Souls-Like, but I've heard from many of you that they are amazing! So I guess it's time for me to put my big-boy pants on and give one of these a try. Things I've been told to expect:
- I'm gonna die a lot
- I'm gonna die a lot
- I'm gonna die a lot
- I might want to throw my PC out a window
lol... I'm SUPER excited though to delve into the genre that has defined what a 'challenging video game' looks like. I really hope you have an awesome time, and if you do, it would be amazing if you'd consider subscribing.
Thanks,
Benjamight
To switch who you are locked onto, flick right thumb stick left or right, whatever direction the enemy you want to lock onto is from the enemy you are currently locked onto.
I know you are a while ahead but I saw a guy give a good tip that I wanted to explain a little. "Take the time to look up and around the environment". This is a great tip for 1. Not getting too worked up. But more importantly, the way the Devs make these game levels are like a rubix cube. Sometimes there might be a super obvious environmental clue on what to do that nobody would notice unless they take the time to look at the view. MANY times in all 3 dark souls have I found secrets by glancing up at a castle or down from a bridge. Sometimes you can even tell what's going to happen by the environment around you. Like how the bridge is black and charred before you step foot on it.
Don't forget your dodge roll when stuck against two enemies spamming attack on you leaving you stuck in the getting hit animation!

"I'm feeling pretty good" gets stabbed by the skeletons from Jason and the argonauts.
"Try jumping."
You will eventually come across Blacksmiths who can repair, upgrade, and ascend weapons. There is also and Undead Merchant in the Undead Burg who sells repair powder and other things. His entrance is hidden near the Bonfire. Also Humanity (Number by health bar) is how you kindle the bonfire(extra flasks) and reverse hollowing(becoming human). Hollow is the default undead state. Humanity is gained by using the Humanity item or by killing loads of enemies. Hope this helps Bro. Don't you dare go Hollow.
you repair your weapon at the blacksmith, which you have to beat the taurus demon to reach. also a tip for the taurus demon boss - you can drop attack him from the tower with the 2 archers.
i love it when new souls players start the game using gear to look cool/up their defense, and then by the time they are in end-game they're either naked or wearing mismatched clothes
Welcome to the souls series! The upgrade menu is a bit convoluted. Scaling is based on the Japanese letter grade system (E-S). E is the lowest, and S is the highest. It goes S, A, B, C, D, E. The higher the scaling bonus, the more damage you’ll get when you upgrade that specific parameter (up to a soft cap of 40)
Just want to say that this is going to be a fantastic journey and I'm here for it. It'll be fun to revisit these early days when you've beaten this game and inevitably feel the pull to the other Soulsbourne titles.
Saw the video, dropped a like, left a comment, told my family, then went to church and told god too.
A true blind playthrough I am loving this....am going on 10 years of play souls games am just now starting a no death and SL1 run
Its really cool to see that you're getting pretty good at the game!
Ranking the 3 mechanics against bosses.
The move you learn at the beginning when you jump down from above and inflict more damage you can do the same to the boss you are at now kill skeletons at top come down make boss come out go up ladder and do the drop down move. Hope this helps.
Awesome video, we’re getting really close to killing the boss. Just a few more attempts, excited for next video :))
Current death count : 27
I think you can 2 hand a weapon that you don't have the strength for and it will increase your str by about 50%. Meaning you can 2 hand a 15 str weapon with only 10 str. Or a 30 str weapon with only 20 str. Don't know if it's 100% accurate but that's roughly how it works
