We got Dark Souls Remastered in the studio this morning, and turned this around super quick. Take a look at Lordran in all its glory.
We're not very techy but it's looks lovely. If you're wondering, we're playing on a bog standard PS4 but it's running in 60fps. Ooooo...

Prepare To Try powers still can’t parry even with the increase in resolution
As someone who played the original port on pc this looks pretty underwhelming, it's basically the same port + dsfix included. I hope they fixed some of the areas like lost izalith.
Do you know if they fixed duping of items?
Do you think we're ready for finchy in 4k, FinchyK?

Some people need to learn the difference between a remake and a remaster

For Example :Remakes are the new Shadow of Collosus,Ratchet and Clank,Chrash n sane Collection. Remasters are Last of us (Ps4) Resident Evil 4(Ps4) and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix (Ps4)
The reason some people are disappointed is because of false expectations. It's a remaster. Not a remake. It's the same game but in higher resolution and 60 fps. If you thought it would be remade using the bloodborne engine or whatever and with updated gameplay, then you were expecting something that was never promised in the first place.
KNM Gaming Guides I was expecting 1080 60 with literally no other changes, and I was still going to buy it. I’m beyond stoked that they’ve made small changes to the lighting and particle effects. Amazing what happens when you correctly manage your own expectations.
The thing that bothers me is Ds1 on pc already had dsfix which is literally exactly the same as the so called "remaster" that im watching now minus the improved lighting and such and they are charging $40 for it when i could get ds1 on pc for like $10 and download the mod for free. I agree that expecting the game to run on the same engine as bloodborne might have been slightly unrealistic but you cant blame people, they have had alot of time to pull of such a thing and with the steep price tag you would expect a little more than what they are offering.

hmmm "alot" more like slightly, i'm not comfortable with paying $40 for some minor graphical updates and 60fps although I have no problem with others doing so it's your hard earned money do as you wish.
Would like to see Izalith that isn't rushed but not expecting it; buying this either way
I would love to see you guys complete this remaster. No time rush at all, and Rory can fight all bosses including the ones he missed the first time around (maybe kill Ornstein last as well).

The Infamous it already has a remake dumbass plus it's horrible. hi guys, I was making videos since 2015 and I wanted to ask you check them out. I have a few videos about Dark Souls, Bloodborne and different games. Now I'm trying to release my old videos on my channel and projects that I have forgotten about. For example, I have finally released all bosses in Dark a Souls 3 on ng+ and ng+2 and I had this video like 2 months ago. Right now I have trouble editing videos since I don't have an access to my computer because it's broken but I can release a few videos more. So it would be nice if you checked them out. Nope pretty lazy just a better res and 60fps Japanese devs are incredibly lazy at patches and tweaks and remasters. You can do better with ds fix and a few mods looks way better than a cash grab at 30 quid or what ever bs they want for the game

Love Prepare To Try! It's like I'm hanging out with mates. The talk of that documentary was the funniest part. You say you guys aren't remastered but Rory is better at the game and Gav looks like he's been working out. Dan doesn't need remastering because he's still smart as ever.
The game looks great. When I compare this to the PC with DSFix, it's not worth getting. However, this is HUGE for console players. Compare this to PS3 and it's infinitely better. Blighttown in a steady 60fps :O I think I'll get it for PS4 so I can play in my living room. I do want to see better rolling when locked on and I hope there's an option to turn motion blur off.
Is no one going to address the fact that Solaire is floating at the end?
Ready Player One had a couple of the mushroom people from the forest in the background, but other than that there was sadly not any references to Dark Souls. Kinda expected a bonfire or Solaire to show up.
Jounzey It's mostly supposed to be like ultra mainstream pop culture references. Dark Souls is popular but not enough to be front and center.

Man, Dan is so stoic, when Gav and Rory are just sniggering on poo jokes, he's just sitting there, solemn, unwavering, not a hint of a smile on his face. Tiny bits make this the treasure it is.

I really wouldn't recommend starting with DS2 as it's the worst game in the series in my opinion. I'd rather start with DS3 or wait for DS Remastered.
I did. Took less then a month, looking at 30 hours roughly.
I played 3 Then 1 Then 2. 2 has my longest single run of like 120hours. game is fucking huge
I like DS2 quite a bit, it gets a bad rap but of the 3 it is my favorite combat system. The story is also enough of a side story that it won't spoil much of the story in the first game.

What did they actually change with the remaster? I dont see much difference, if any, from when I played the "Prepare to Die"-edition with DSFix?

Jason Dokos Well, I can tell you back compat in Xbox 1 basically has no load times, I would imagine this being closer to SOTFS but less than DKS3

Hey! When you guys make that video on the switch, you got to hack the game so you change the sound file when it says you died to the pipe noise from Mario, like you said, and if you can somehow change the sound file when you die while hollowed it does the game over sound that would be hilarious!
With the magic of video editing, you can make yourself jump down the pipe, and enter the catacombs.
But fall down the shortcut to pinwheel.
all the way at the bottom and go fight Nito and change the boss room music to Bowsers theme lol.
I'm with Daniel on this one, if you play again, we'll need to see Solaire's story through to the very end. It might also be important to revisit the idea that Solaire was once thought to be Gwyn's son (as opposed to The Nameless King), might make it a bit more epic. The idea of watching you guys revisit your old stomping ground of Dark Souls 1 is exciting!
That mario pipe is gonna be an easter egg in the switch version....

Just FYI, saving Solaire was what I did with my 2nd play through and what I intend to do again with the Switch version.
