- Never played Dark Souls, never played a Souls-Like, but I've heard from many of you that they are amazing! So I guess it's time for me to put my big-boy pants on and give one of these a try. Things I've been told to expect:
- I'm gonna die a lot
- I'm gonna die a lot
- I'm gonna die a lot
- I might want to throw my PC out a window
lol... I'm SUPER excited though to delve into the genre that has defined what a 'challenging video game' looks like. I really hope you have an awesome time, and if you do, it would be amazing if you'd consider subscribing.
Thanks,

The Basement Key door you're looking for is near the Red Drake. Also, if a boss has a tail, cut it off for a special weapon.
"let's get inside, maybe where I have a little more room to run around"
It's like watching a horror movie and knowing the monster is about to get the protagonist.
I love it.
LOL - yeah, I can only imagine how 'noob' I really came across in this episode (and how I left the last one). I knew people would get a kick out of it, because I was definitely kicking myself in real life when it happened. I laughed pretty hard too though - always gotta be willing to laugh at ones-self. :-)
@@BenjamightGaming keep doing it! It's why I watch!
I love how everyone leaves that 1 hollow alive because he Is in such a chill position 13:10
lol - He's figured out how to stay alive. ;-)
*Benjamight Dark Souls Glossary:*
Bonfire = campfire
Souls = soul
Transient = transcendent
Estus Flask = vials

Just poking fun 😋
Pro tip: you can send the elevator back up so it's waiting for you on a future runback
Shelton, I have a feeling if you created a glossary for every game I've played, you'd have a full-time job...lol. I've gained quite the reputation for it, but I don't mind. Keeps people wondering "Oh boy, I wonder what he's going to call X". ;-)
NEW LONDO WATERPARK OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
There are of course more ways to deal with a ghost. Yours to find out though. And dont forget you can homeward bone out of places if youre trying to get your souls back. I know were at least 4 hours behind, but dont feel discouraged, the world is incredibly interconnected so eventually youll stumble on another bell haha!
Thank you Deefunx, really appreciate the encouragement... I hit kind of a wall-moment in the next episode. Thankfully I have found how to move forward in Part 18. :-)
Current death count : 69
Agreed , I think they did the ghosts really good . And they were also kind with the area by leaving the player multiple curses to find ( except for the ambushes , those were evil ) .
The charged attacks come in later games, since it's been a while some of us forget stuff like that and give it as shot a tip without realising.
Oooooooh... ok, that makes sense. Seriously thought I was just doing something wrong (wouldn't be the first time...lol).
The dissapointment at the beginning is real... lol.
If you run out of transcient curses, there's a merchant that can sell you some. You can also obtain a permanent curse, but being cursed doesn't come without nasty effects... If bad comes to worse, you can always ask a friendly player to enter your world and drop transcient curses for you. If you think that's cheating, you can pay him with souls/humanity and count him as a real life merchant ;)
Oh man, thanks for these tips Hugh, really appreciate it. I just found that merchant in an upcoming episode... they're pricey, but I was still happy to find them. :-)
In the beginning of the video, I had the same disappointment reaction when I realized I unlocked a shortcut from darkroot basin to undead burg and not a new area when I was playing on my first blind playthrough lol.
lol - glad to know it wasn't just me.
Lol, I was waiting to see your reaction to Havel (large angry man in the tower).
BTW, havel is always a tough guy to beat and he's totally optional, but what he drops is worth the pain. Most players head to Havel in the early game to grab his reward.
Protip to beat him: lock on and strafe around him in circles, he'll swing, miss, and you punish him. Rinse repeat. He'll still end up killing you a few times, but you'll beat him eventually.
You might even figure out how to back stab.
You can also parry him but it feels like playing chicken with a train.
Thanks for the advice Bryce... I'm totally going to have to give him another attempt.
Havel is a beast agree getting around the back is the best way to succeed but to wield his weapon i think you need 46 strength which he's way off.
@@frankgunner8967you don't get the weapon from killing havel
theres two ways to fight the ghost: either using the transient curse or with the curse status effect on you.
Pls don't mind but here's another reason to use a sword.
I used sword to double and sometimes triple kill those ghosts while being ambushed, that made it a lot easier.
You were doing amazing dodging with those ghosts, what a shame about the disconnect. Maybe theres a firewall exception or port forward you can do to reduce/eliminate it.
I felt like I was doing really good too... most of the disconnects haven't been at a bad time, but this one was not good at all. I might have still died, but with the disconnect, it absolutely caused it.
The Parrying Dagger you got is very good for Parries because it has a longer window to land parries, and I feel like you would be a BEAST with it after all the parrying practice you did throught the playthrough haha
Nice! I might have to give that thing a try... so I put that in place of the shield though, right?
@@BenjamightGaming Yes that's right! What you can do is put it on the second slot of the shield, since it's not too heavy so it wouldn't weight you that much down!
I'm totally going to try this out, thanks for the heads up.
Haha oh no!!! One ghost dropped 2 more transient curses for you and you totally ignored it 😭
Oh man, totally missed those. :-(
...or maybe it was a rare weapon, we'll never know!
Your doing great Ben" I'm surprised you haven't already picked up the Helberd weapon it's long range like the spear but with much more damage keep a look out the best gift to get at the beginning was the Master key all doors you are finding locked would of been opened everyone picks it unless you don't know, sorry binoculars are useless.
Thanks for the suggestion FrankGunner... I try out the Helberd in an upcoming episode - I won't spoil you though on how I take to it. I'm not too bummed about my (crappy) binoculars... I wanted something I was sure would be reusable and I know the master key I was told can be a bit of a spoiler, so it's all good. :-)
ah yes the ghosts of new londo ruins , nice guys they always want to hug you with their knifes
i see you realy dont like the main road , allweys up to an advature :D
dont warry abaut the transient curse can be buyed/farmed and are many ways to get curse in this game :)
lol - I do tend to get very off track at times. I think most people seem to enjoy that, but I know I probably bug the heck out of others. Never my intention, just how it goes with blind playthroughs. ;-)
You don't need to hit the walls with your weapon (it might need repairing after that)
Just roll into it. also there is usually a message close to a secret wall or path.
I'll try to remember that... feels weird just rolling into random walls though...lol. Not that stabbing them feels much better I guess. ;-)
from my (very limited) knowledge of souls games (ever since i've watched your soul series my fyp has been full of soul stuff lol, i've been soul binging essentially) i think the big but fast stone armor guy (havel i think?) will almost always one shot you no matter the gear, he just does absurd damage, but should easily dodged due to very limited moveset and a lack tracking (his swings don't snap towards you)
edit:
also, i know you probably would never do it (because you want to play games the honest way) but there's a soul duplication glitch that can be done with arrows, literally can give you millions consistently
Havel is his name, and being "the rock" is his game. You can survive but need really good armour or high stamina for block, but death is always close
Isn't that always funny when you watch something different for the first time, and suddenly RUclips dog-piles on you with loads of more of it...lol, I have the same thing happen all the time. Appreciate the advice on Havel, I'll be sure to remember that.
please buy rope brother
