- Never played Dark Souls, never played a Souls-Like, but I've heard from many of you that they are amazing! So I guess it's time for me to put my big-boy pants on and give one of these a try. Things I've been told to expect:

Whenever you hear the bell ringing while playing Online it means someone has just beat the bell gargoyles and have rung the bell.
"Why is he running away? Is this a trap?" Good gut instinct.
Remember, stamina refills slower while shield is up, try to bring up sheild before an attack, not the whole time.

Have to do a light attack when you're right behind a humanoid enemy, you kept heavy attacking so you weren't getting the critical similar to when you parry, have to make sure youre right behind them too! That's the best way to deal with Black Knights early on is to actually circle around them after they attack and back stab them to death

Your right, the black knights are basically mini bosses. Most people consider anything that doesn't respawn (and Is tough) a mini boss
The skulls were meant to lure the boar into fire, but you got him into fire even without them and made him burn (that high damage wasn't you yes). You can also use them to turn enemy with shield around to expose their back.
I just knew about this recently, and you know what, i'll let you know about it since i'm kind of "fun facts" guy here:
All Black Knights and Silver Knights can and should be parried. It's the best skill in this game. Always read item descriptions, both descriptions. Hope this helps!

You missed the first merchant! Exit right down the stairs then left from the bonfire with the ladder in the first area
I'm assuming you know by now but just in case, I think to kick you need to tap "walk forward" + light attack. Super good vs shield dudes.
love seeing people play the souls games for the first time, youll have a blast the games just keep getting better!
Loving the series. elden ring Dlc drops tomorrow night and after replaying and watching this, it's just social crazy to see how far the fromsoftware games have evolved. I wish I could delete my knowledge of it sometime so I could experience it all again blind.
Go back to Firelink Shrine from time to time. As you progress, it will spawn new friendly NPC's to talk to, and even trade with!
