You Have GOT to be Kidding Me! | Lets Play Dark Souls [Part 5]

Never played Dark Souls, never played a Souls-Like, but I've heard from many of you that they are amazing! So I guess it's time for me to put my big-boy pants on and give one of these a try. Things I've been told to expect:

- I might want to throw my PC out a window
lol... I'm SUPER excited though to delve into the genre that has defined what a 'challenging video game' looks like. I really hope you have an awesome time, and if you do, it would be amazing if you'd consider subscribing.

For repair, you actually missed a merchant in the Undead Burgh. If you go back to the bonfire youve been starting at every episode, go out and down the stairs to the right. Then take a left to a building with two sword and shield hollow knights. Theres a staircase hidden by boxes. Search there for a merchant and a path to some goodies you missed.

"Boss runs" are common in dark souls. It's when you decide not to kill the small guys on the way to the boss in order to increase the amount of tries (in the same time). Also non bosses can't enter boss fights (unless they are already inside like the 2 archers).

You still take some damage trying to block enemy fire bombs, dodge rolling left or right is the key.

The best way to deal with poison is: don't get poisoned 😜

When you talk to NPCs make sure to exhaust all of their dialogue until they start repeating themselves!

humanity is a multifact item. it will fully replenish HP when used, it allows you to reverse hollowing (the zombie-like appearance) and become human again (this will allow you to become invadable if playing online), it allows you to increase the number of estus flasks you can carry (requires the right of kindling item (found after beating a boss)), and the higher the number in the top left corner is the greater the chance that enemies will drop items.

Fashion Souls was coined for these games because the whole defense aspect of the armors don't mitigate damage too much. So people typically just wear the armor they think looks the best

The replay is a little boring, but I do really enjoy your commentary. So I guess you can keep it in unless you are like quite and frustrated then maybe that's when you can do cuts. Good job on the demon, I was kind of skeptical when you started the episode with today is the day I'll beat him then proceeded to miss a stationary crate lol. But that's a beginning boss so I'm sure they will get harder. I am enjoying you enjoying the game.

You raise an interesting point about shielding! While there's no "critical" timing to cover like when parrying, keeping your shield up constantly might not be advisable because while your shield is up your stamina regenerates slower.

FYI, you can run by holding the dodge button. Then once running, you can quickly release and tap that same button to jump. It's not a very practical jump to get up ledges or anything, but it can help you clear some level gaps here and there.

Summoning is like back when you where struggling with a game so you call over your friend who is an expert. Nothing wrong with it but it can diminish the feeling of achievement
