Isabel Trail Parkrun | YouTube Meet Up | RaleyAdventures😃🚀💪
Today was a day I'd been looking forward to for ages. From early on in my RUclips journey, Ryan and Haley @raleyadventures have been supporting me as have several other RUclips channels (thank you all) but this was the first time I'd arranged to meet up with another channel and it was a great day. I must apologise in advance to Ryan & Haley as I just didn't do enough face time filming even though there was lots of chat and laughter that morning. They have uploaded their version of the Parkrun we did at Isabel Trail already and I'm sure it's far more professional than mine! Here’s @raleyadventures vufeo if the day. ruclips.net/video/JAnjjl9F3j8/видео.htmlsi=VUSV_fLQJRziTg8S...

Running With An Injury At Marple Parkrun😬🙁😢⚙️🚂

Regular viewers will know that I've had a heel pain issue for months and recently started a course of Class IV laser treatment which in a way is the last roll of the dice in terms of a resolution. I've cut back on my weekly mileage and only now do Parkruns. I hadn't done Marple before and I enjoyed it, it's a lovely location alongside the Goyt and Marple Bridge is a charming village. If you're based in the North West and like the idea of progressing from Parkrun to something more professional, I'd certainly reccommend the Sale Sizzler Series - four 5K races in July and August each year and the great part is, you start and finish on the athletics track! It makes for a fantastic event and no wonder over 500 people often take part. Last year there were 723 people in one I atte...

Here's a video of the Birchwood Brook 5K race which took place a week ago, and if you recall, I did the Dunham Massey 5K the week before, part of the same North Cheshire Grand Prix series. I wasn't going to do a video as there was no running content but after seeing the race on Strava, my subscribers persuaded me to even though I wasn't sure if it was that good😂😂

Had to skip my visit to another tourist Parkrun on Saturday so no Parkrun video....However, made me realise how much it means to me and a chance to update you on forthcoming events and the race did on Thursday, the Birchwood Brook 5K. If you would like me to upload a short video on that event, let me know in the comments and I'll put the clips together.
Lyme Parkrun - Serious. Hill. Training.😂⚙️💪😅

On the Tourist Parkrun trail again today and visited Lyme Parkrun on the edge of the Peak District, just South of Stockport, my home town. Just two days after the Dunham Massey 5K so feeling a bit depleted. Stunning scenery and we ran the winter course which gave us spectacular views over towards Manchester. Tough course but the weather improved dramatically so another Parkrun memory created!
My First 5K Race in A Year - Could I Get A PB?💪😬🚀⚙️

One year since I last raced a 5K and I return to Dunham Massey for the Dave Telford Memorial 5K, could I get an all time PB for this course after competing here in 2022 and 2023? Perfect running conditions, around 250 people on the start line and part of a 4-race series. Great to have the support of my wife Diane and my mother-in-law Annie, also thanks to Diane for the in-race footage:)

The highlight of my running year, the Great Manchester Run is a fantastic event, so much more than a run! The atmosphere is electric, this year we had 30,000 people taking part in the 10K and Half Marathon, probably 25,000 for the 10K! The weather was a worry but it turned out fine in the end. Another great video Andy. I remember when the started with a handful 24 years ago and have become so popular. Think I did one in 2001 about 60 of us. Used to be 10 miler too not sure if they still host that. I too had plantar fasciitis. Have to check your running gait. That's the reason you get PF. I developed the injury training for my 2nd marathon in January 2001. I struggled on to do the training and marathon but eventually had to take time out. Correct shoes stability fixed my condition. On occasion I still get it but a good massage gun and relevant stretches fix it.

      @AndyCliffMTB 11 дней назад

      Thanks, it means a lot to know you enjoyed the video😊The funny thing about my PF is that I never experienced it when I was training for the Manchester Half last summer/autumn, only when I returned after a one month layoff for Covid in October. Did you have to have orthotics in your shoes or stability type running shoes?

    • @alldone1116

      @@alldone1116 I’m not sure if you’ve said your name before if so my apologies, I like to address people by name if possible😊 There’s a long story on my gait etc. Way back in 2016 I was a dedicated mtb and swimmer and tried parkrun in squash shoes. Damaged my plantar in a 100m end sprint and then took time out but when I ran again I had a gait analysis at Decathlon who said I over pronated so prescribed ASICS Kayano Gel and within 2-3 runs I was in agony with PF. Went back, re-tested and they said I was a neutral gait😩Webt to proper running shop, tried 8-9 brands and went with Mizuno Ultima and 4 more pairs of Wave Rider/Ultima since and no issues - until Nov-23🤷‍♂️

    Congratulations on a solid race, you looked very much in the zone! That's not a bad time at all. Was that this week, don't remember it being that sunny here Thursday evening. I was meant to be doing a 5 mile race that night but was too sick.
