  • On the Tourist Parkrun trail again today and visited Lyme Parkrun on the edge of the Peak District, just South of Stockport, my home town. Just two days after the Dunham Massey 5K so feeling a bit depleted. Stunning scenery and we ran the winter course which gave us spectacular views over towards Manchester. Tough course but the weather improved dramatically so another Parkrun memory created!

Wow this was more like a fell race than a parkrun. Views looked spectacular 🤩 Sounded like you were getring blown about a bit there too. Remaining vertical is always the goal, and no shame walking. These kinds of events benefit from it, and a consistent pace kinda goes out of the window, and it becomes (for me) about banking energy lol. Well done on another great video pal 👍

Time to buy some trail shoes and run hill repeats lol! Hey Andy, great job and glad you stayed upright. You did great!

Hi Reto, thanks, I was taking it easy tbh😊 I have recently entered a 5 mile trail race in mid-July, the Trafford Trails 5 but I think I can use my road shoes. Something to consider if I enjoy the new format😊

Love parkrun content, I'm a buggy runner so seeing the routes really helps me decide if it's doable or not. I'm putting this on the probably not list 😄

Hi Sarah, thanks for watching (and subscribing)😊I don’t think I saw anyone with a buggy but the winter course might be ok with a buggy if you can cope with the climb, it’s grassy and firm overall. The normal course crosses streams so maybe not😂

I was doing a Tatton Park 10km that morning about 15 miles to the west of you, and we had the same thing with the weather, was looking like a wash-out but then it brightened up about 10 minutes before the start. That run up to the Cage is a fair old effort even if you're just walking/hiking it, so must've been absolutely gruelling run-wise... looked a bit soggy underfoot too! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for watching John, yes we really got away with it weather-wise on Saturday. You did well at Tatton, nice splits and strong finish💪. I’d been told how tough Lyme was but I had to get it ticked off for my tourist challenge (hopefully 100 by year end). Definitely a trail shoes location😂
