- My first Parkrun after returning from France for the Prom Classic 10K in Nice. Wasn't expecting a great performance but I surprised myself. It's nice to have these moments, they give you a boost and spur you on in your efforts to become a better (and faster) runner!

Good running after have that cough. 👌
Yes I was pleased to get back to something respectable Stu😊
Andy - kudos on your awesome 26 min parkrun! Well done. Did I hear you say that you have PF? Something that I struggled with years ago. Hope you get better soon.
Thanks Reto, I’m satisfied with that result but I can do better😊. I had PF properly about 2017/18, it was so bad I couldn’t run for a year, just swam and biked. Now it’s more of a heel issue, I’ve seen a podiatrist and she gave me really good exercises incl the ice rolling post run. It’s getting better I think🙏
Great video, getting back to it too which is nice to see, we look forward to your next video
Thanks Both, a big improvement, mind you 32 minutes at St Helens was an all time low😂
@@AndyCliffMTB haha you’ll keep doing great, never worry 🙌
@@raleyadventures I'm back in training now, I hope to improve:)
Enjoyed the video...I used to run 🏃♂️ a lot when I was younger and wondered why I got a lot of chest infections and being run down until I realised the importance of sufficient rest and recovery..when I understood this and took an extra several days off thats when I had improved health and running 🏃♂️ times in my 5 k race's..I couldn't believe that taking longer between training sessions radically improved my running, speed, endurance etc...
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it😊 That’s very interesting, I was thinking about rest and recovery only the other day. I also think I need to cross train more so today I did 20K on my MTB. I think Covid throughout Oct plus the chest thing in late December really hit me harder than I realise🤔
@@AndyCliffMTB it was listening to an interview of Doug McGuff being interviewed by Joe Mercola that Changed everything for me. Dr McGuff explains the process of recovery and how exercise effects things like Adrenal Glands, the CNS , muscle fibres, hormones etc and that multiple days are required to heal from the exercise whuch is actually stressful to the body. He explained something that was the most important thing which is " your body tells you when its recovered and not the individual " . He explains that continuing to exercise even lightly during the recovery days will be counter productive and bring a higher oxidative stress and the individual actually becomes weaker overtime .this lit a light bulb 💡 off for me as I was running typically every other day or so .. the change to either running or weights to at least every 4 or 5 days was astonishing to my overall health strength, stamina etc..i even take a week inbetween sessions and improvements still happen...I've got back into running but allow multiple days for recovery..the interview is on RUclips I think you'll find it enlightening.. 👍
at 4:24 that was me lol, thanks for the compliment I ran 18:50 that park run
Hi Matt, you’re welcome and 18:50 is superb, if I could go sub-23 I’d be elated😂
@@AndyCliffMTB quit your glazing, this guys 16.
@@benjaminbrown7331 Didn’t realise Benjamin, I feel better now😂
@@AndyCliffMTB What do you even mean by that
@@benjaminbrown7331 he’s a lot younger than me, so that’s what I meant😊
Back on form Andy. Sub 25 again soon !
Thanks Paul, that's the plan, I'm back into a full training regime now so I'd like to go sub-24 this year tbh:)
