  • I thought it was a good time to reflect on how my training has been going over the last 6 months and also update you on my plans for 2024, which from a race perspective include 5Ks, 10Ks, a half marathon and a few mountain bike races to boot. Lots to look forward to but it's been a bumpy ride as you'll know.

      That’s true, but if you’ve seen the full video/story, it’s a bit concerning😟

My Strava graph has been hilarious since the first day of lockdown. Fractured my fibula, continued to eat like a pro and stacked on a load of weight. It's all been a struggle since but that's the fun of it, each improvement feels like another win. Keep up the good work pal 😊

Lockdown was a serious setback no question, but fracturing your fibula aswell sounds terrible😩 The weight thing is very interesting, I reckon I’ve added 6/7 lbs since I caught COVID which I can’t seem to lose despite eating normally and being back on a full programme since mid-Jan…i just hope that graph keeps pointing North East😊

Thank you for that heartfelt video, It will only be a small set back and as you explained, even though you arent happy with the times your last few park runs have been getting quicker each week and that not even on the same course so it shows you're doing something right. Keep up the good work as always

Hi Both, thanks for watching, I like to be honest with people about my journey, the highs and the lows as it's just like others who are doing their best, and hopefully I've seen the bottom of the curve in the Strava fitness chart..:)

Hi Andy, thanks for sharing your fitness journey. Having suffered with PF many, many years ago, I am aware that it's painful and can take a long time to heal. It requires patience and daily treatment. Regarding algorithm-based fitness indicators, they're not reliable. I look at Strava, Garmin and Stryd, and the latter is probably the most reliable, but it still doesn't get it right. I will do a hard workout or long run, and Garmin tells me it was "unproductive". I use a benchmark workout like 400's or a tempo run to gauge my improvements. Cheers.

Thanks for watching the video Reto, the thing is, I think the fitness indicator does seem to follow the troughs very well post COVID and I haven’t performed to my pre-COVID levels since then. Despite returning to the previous exercise regime. I hope that I’ve hit the bottom of the curve, GVA is only 8 weeks away🤔
