  • I volunteered today at Burnage Parkrun, it wasn't my first time as a volunteer as I often volunteer if I'm racing the day after or if I'm unwell so I've actually volunteered 9 times, mainly Warrington but also St Helens aswell. I think it's good to do something different and you get a great sense of satisfaction from simply encouraging people, be they sub-20 guys or runners at the back of the pack. So today I volunteered at Burnage in perfect weather conditions and this video also shows you what a lovely Parkrun this is, being next to the River Mersey and on the Trans Pennine Trail.

Hi Andy, great to see you volunteering and cheering. The Trans Pennine trail is internationally well-known among trail runners and followed for its FKT.

Hi Reto, thanks for watching again, yes, I love encouraging people, especially the newer runners who are finding their way:) I found the TPT on the FKT website, wasn't even aware of that website:)

Hi Craig, I like volunteering occasionally, the Great Manchester Run was a fantastic day, weather was pretty good considering the poor forecast. I uploaded a short before as a taster😀

Well done for volunteering. 10 years to the day I biked the Trans Penine trail from Southport to Hornsea 214 miles over 3 days. I'm the cyclist on the official map. The weather was horrific on the final day Doncaster to Hornsea. Actually found it harder than running marathons 😂

I enjoy volunteering, not as much as taking part obviously but it's good to have a change and give back:) That's impressive , TPT in 3 days! I assume the weather was bad over the top, Penistone to Sheffield? Funnily enough I bought the full TPT route pack a few years back and have kept it for the time I choose to do it, I'm more of a runner these days but I do still enjoy riding and racing my mtb:)

Hi Andy. A great video. I enjoyed the Great Manchester 10k one too. I was your Barcode Scanner at Stretford today (the one in the Davenport top).

Thanks Calum, I appreciate you watching and I’m glad you enjoyed them😊Yes, of course, as soon as I saw the word Davenport, I had to say something, I lived on Garners Lane for many years😊

I saw you mention about being from Stockport on the video. I live in Edgeley, and have been with Davenport Runners since their inception in 2015.
I'm also part of the core team at Burnage. I'm hoping that we can share your video soon. It was interesting seeing it from your perspective.
