Hey man.... I just want to say, as one of the runners you'd lap in a race like this.... big respect for your mentality about sharing space and everyone has a fair shot at the racing line. Everyone starts somewhere... I'm in the 21:xx range now, and working to get better every day.
Your ‘no music’ and what you are thinking videos are by far the most motivating on RUclips Nick, once I start I just can’t turn it off, damn adverts🙄 Loads of great content on here, but these make want to go out and run hard.
@@mawilliams777 great to hear. Truth is, running is tough for all of us. But when you see improvements and things start clicking, then it makes all the work that goes into it worth it!
I love to see the club kits at parkrun, especially the UK ones when they come over here to Boston! The most recognizable ones are the black and white stripes from Fulham
Not sure what I wore when running Jamaica Pond.. it was a brilliant Parkrun though! I do remember getting a history lesson at your first time briefing as soon as we said we were British!! ..had a great time chatting with the local runners at the cafe after.
at our local parkrun we have a simple rule of 'keep left' which makes it much easier for the faster runners on their final lap. I reckon you lost about 12 seconds dodging people Nick!
Excellent video. I really love your commentary and attitude towards everyone. It's very inspiring. You look so strong when running even when you're on the red. Props to the camera guy. Excellent job.
Parkrun was good for me last Saturday, new pb of 17:37 in 1st position. First parkrun for a while and my marathon training paid off. Picked up an injury yesterday though so hopefully it's not a big setback 🤞
I’ve been waiting for this kinda of videos, thank you nick. This kinda video always stay motivated me at run when I had devil in my head telling to stop.
- yesterday ran a 24:50 and my god that was pure suffering. Start running just a year ago. PB in september 2023 was 24:22. Hope my motivation will increase and someday i will be at the start of some marathon.Ty for such inspirational parkrun videos. (Excuse my language, hi from Russia)
Love your parkrun vids! And I'm now a 40 minute runner. But jeez, the effort you need to put in through weaving on the last lap, great stuff! And also your great attitude that parkrun is indeed for everyone and sometimes us slowbies slow you down. Great effort!
Love watching these types of videos/races. I think I could sit through a marathon in this style. You smashed it Nick. I'm just coming back from Winter flu so I know what it's like when you're not quite 100%.
Excellent run and cool video all round. It has encouraged me to pop down the road sometime to do Dulwich. My best PB at S Norwood is 20:05 but then I am over 50. Good comments on Parkrun: everyone involved is awesome and they helped my running tremendously.
Well done Nick, great time considering all the traffic you had to negotiate. You looked like a racing driver in the best car overtaking everyone after having been forced to start at the back of the grid. Will have to get down to Dulwich again as one of my favourites. When I first ran there back in 2013 there were only about 300 running from memory.
I love these parkrun videos and your thoughts with every kilometers. As not so fast runner myself, I always try my best to not run in middle, people can a bit little mindful about it honestly :)
Another awesome Dulwich parkrun Nick 🙌 I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia and after taking up running 12 months ago my PB Parkrun is 23:00 Loving your you tube content 🤘
Lekker Nick! You are an inspiration dude. At our local parkrun it is often already 30+ degrees C at the start. Keep up the good work! Your vids helped me to chase down my PBs from 20 years ago.
Great insight, Nick! We have a lot of runners that wear their club kits at Wolverhampton, I think it's great they all represent the local run clubs (or if you're a tourist clubs from further afield). Unreal time as well mate! 👏🏻
wow, that is bonkers how much you have to weave in and out of the crowds! Very tough work for you and Tom And it's nice to see you wearing your club colors :-)
48Male I won my Parkrun last Saturday at Riverside Park Idaho, USA with a very slow time in a blizzard and sunglasses chomping through 2-3 inches of snow. My PB currently is 22:33.
Great Video Nick and strong running! Well done Tom! Definitely a 'yes' to wearing club colours at Parkrun! Makes me run stronger and of course 'Look good!' 🔵⚪️
Didn't collapse on the grass next to the funnel. Had more left in the tank if just for the final 50m as didn't notice you trying for a final kick 😁 brilliant time and well done!
Really been enjoying your videos Nick - parkruns or marathon training! Very cool and inspiring 👊 I’m 25 and a decent-ish runner and I’d love to be able to run half as well as you lol - need to keep training!
Fantastic running Nick well done ! It would be great to see you at the Hastings Park run sometime, it's a fast out and back seafront course. There is no way that dog was going to keep up !🐶 I think a greyhound might struggle ! 🤣
Gotta say your stride is looking better than last time i saw you do one of these. Seems to be way less compact like last time i watched you do a 5k. Maybe just me but you definitely look like you improved there from my perspective. Great run again btw 👍
Im a year in on my running journey and today for some strange reason ended up doing an extra lap at our local oarkrun 😂. I thought it felt tough. Big respect. If anyone thinks that seeing these times puts people off then im not sure how they tick as i am just in awe and would love to just improve my time. I did the 4 laps in 30 min so next time i need to look at my watch 😂and realise around the 22-23 i should be going out 😂
@JM-rm3lt I disagree with parkrun not adhering to uk athletics guidelines. It appears that they've ruined it for everyone instead of falling into line. It doesn't make them look good.
Ran a 15:46 PB at parkrun last weekend, great confidence booster for my first marathon at London - Hopefully your idea that impriving in the 5k will carry over to longer distances 🤞
At ParkRuns here in South Africa, Cape Town they have a rule, fast runners and overtaking always on the left :) but you are doing a way better job just weaving through lol
I done my first race of 3km and it was not a good memory but still going to try on 11the Feb I just falled at the starting because two small girls but I still tried to rank and I was at 3 and didn't know the route they said to return the boys who were behind me turned real quick I was at front and that lead me 5 position Still I will try in next one which is on 11feb
Great video so close. Fantastic run none the less 🏃♂️👏👏 my local parkrun has 5 corners that are 180 degree turns so completely cuts any rhythm but currently fighting to push under 21 my pb has lowerd to ezactly 21.00. So hopefully any time now ill get it. Props to the camera guy to he always does a great job weaving in between people getting the best video footage 👍📹 incredible performance though keep up the good work 👍
Well done, it's a real shame that parkrun won't show it going forward as i believe they are stopping showing sub 17 mens times and also doing away with course records ( already removed from all stats) .
Great outlook on park runs; fast or slow, everyone's welcome and respected. Victoria Park run in Glasgow looks like the place to test yourself- 4 out of the top 10 times that week, you up for it?!
Boommmsshhhaakkkalaka that was a great video too watch and you u were miles ahead of everyone at the end... 🎉🎉🎉Yes runners SHOULD wear their club tops I absolutely love screaming out the clubs name when I'm volunteering (or running) parkrun plus a lot of runners come back & thank me for cheering their club although maybe banging my tambourine and shaking my maracas has a lot too do with it..😂.#keeponkeepungonNik....x

In 3 weeks I will be doing my first Parkrun. I have done 5km on the treadmill last week in 34 minutes and I was close to vomiting (I couldn't even run 100 meters 4 months a go), so I have decided to give myself a bit of time to increase my intervals and raise my vo2 max. I want the Parkrun to be my real first outdoor running experience. I did a race run by a local club recently and it was so lovely to be cheered on by my parkrun pals from the club ❤❤
How many miles do you take your pro 3 before retiring them - from racing & training? I used them for first time in a marathon even if I had put on 70 or so mikes, and really liked them
I am doing park run regularly. Last September, I clocked a 29 minute or so run. In January, I ran a 23:45. I am working hard, getting in long easy miles and hill sprints, and using park run to train by increasing pace from 6 minute first km to an all out last killometer (about 4:10). My aim is sub 20 before the year is out
With the majority of the running community. I’d much rather have them kept. Not because I care about my records. More so because I actually believe it encourages more runners.

I ran parkrun and almost won for the first time. I was first until 4.8k but got passed in the final 200 😢. 2/213 and 18:33

Oooof on a slightly hilly parkrun that could be tough but hey you never know unless you try.

Inspiring Nick👍🏻btw how do you incorporate a parkrun in your traingplan? Do you have a recovery day afterwards?
Not really. But I don’t put in back to back harder days.
It’s good to do a weekly or bi-weekly parkrun. I’m often encouraging my athletes to do it.
I think parkrun is for everyone so if you want to wear club kit , then why not? However I've really enjoyed making friends at parkrun without our club vests on. People first, club second.
