@@TRUCKTECHUK I started repairing wagons back in 1988 on leyland constructors and ford cargo's. This video of yours quite clearly shows that what is said on diag screen can translate to something completely different lol. Trouble is every customer just thinks plug it in and it tells you whats wrong. But i'm sure you come across that countless times lol

Hey Rick, While I've worked on a few old trucks from the 90's it's amazing how far things have come and where we are heading will require individuals the industry just can't afford 🫣 As you say If I spend 4 hours looking at a fault, some people think I'm taking the piss. I tend to not answer customers now who complain about prices 😂

Hey Darren 👋 nice to speak to you buddy. Yep the axle switch could have gone and the battery ECU too at some point but as for the lane departure I think that would have been on right away! Ha ha ha it wasn't my circuit tester was it lol I've just put a DVS kit on a merc on the old X7 plug 😂😂😂😂😂

@pauljohn6637 you think this is bad....you should see next-generation Daf. I had a mate in Ireland who couldn't program an engine ECU on a Volvo the other day because the software was wrong in the bloody electric mirror ecu 😂😂😂😂 I'm glad to say it's not that bad on DAF yet lol

Hey Rick, Glad you enjoyed the video buddy. It's crazy the technology in trucks these days and Next Generation Daf is worse (or better) for technology. This is an industry issue where young people won't come into the industry as they think it's below them and this is why they need to see the tech in trucks these days. It was a bit of a head-scratcher with the radio but it just means I need to think outside the box more when it comes to working on trucks that have had 6 or 10 people play with them first 😫

Ha ha ha I said to a customer the other day to stay away From Next Generation Daf at the moment. I'd be buying 2021 after the camshaft issues if I wanted a new truck 😂

Unfortunately mate I wouldn't have a clue. If it's AS-TRONIC OR TRAXON (ZF) like DAF it should learn it automatically. You can speed up the leaning with ignition cycles as it forces opening and closing processes and makes the bite less harsh. On TRAXON you should remove the blank on the ecu before removing and replacing the clutch to expel the air from the booster so you don't damage it.

@@TRUCKTECHUK AS-Tronic on a DAF is plug and play ..Traxton ypou tell it that it has a new clutch ,,Though MAN may do it all differently as they can change items on AStronic that DAF wont ley you

Needs to be programmed unfortunately, buddy. I'm doing one in Telford on Tuesday for a customer before I go to program an engine ECU in Birmingham

@norb0254 the customer has had a header tank put on it with a level sensor and now the warning won't go off. It's 2019 daf xf mx-13 so in the chassis number range for programming unfortunately.

@@TRUCKTECHUK hoping to get me head round jaltest again been a stealership for a while now(angry chicken) and not used jaltest for ages,was using the tablet type before and didn’t really like it but watching your vids you can really do a lot on it so if we have it I’m using it

I found jaltest easy to use. It's very intuitive, as I've always said. As for tests, it doesn't have a lot missing for Daf, hence why I went with jaltest and not a davie at the time and the fact it does all the other manufacturers

Nick.... you are kidding me! All these years and you push them in!!!!! I've seen LOADS of these clips broken from people pulling the clips out and you're telling me you push them in! Learn something new every day buddy. I did not know that 😅 I'm off to find a DPF pressure sensor to try ha ha ha

I think trucks will only get more complicated as we go into euro 7 in 2027 🫣 If you think that the steering wheel cover is dangerous you should see the little handles they bolt on 🫣 Take care mate

It's the AdBlue dosing valve pulsing to let air into the after-treatment Adblue line so it doesn't create a vacuum in the injector pipe.

Hey steve. I've just seen the answer reports on jaltest RMI for the latest round of issues currently going on. I remember them running a black truck around before they launched NGD BUT the fact they sold the truck before our workshop staff and sales had any chance to go on corsed to do with the new product blew my mind. I remember ringing Andy Mudie at DAF technical Haddenham for tooling as it wasn't even in the country yet! The pipes are crap, I've sourced the ends now with the clips as Daf wants 1000 for the new pipework for Daf LF....all because they moved over to the 12mm outlets from the 10mm on euro-6.

Im glad you enjoy it buddy, i just love working on the product just like you! unfortunately, DAF is more than "let's fix this right, first time, for the customer!" and this is why we're discussing things in private 😑 The pipe..........well what can I say! I had a word with myself that day but the original diagnsotic was done at 5.30 in the middle of Manchester so I wanted to go home lol 😆 So much for the right first time eh! The EBS-3 ecu......as expensive as the part and programming was sorted it out ASAP for the customer so everyone was happy. I've not had a trailer control valve in ages! I love a fuel fault lol people just don't like the cost involved. Jaltest DOES a cranking test for fuel pressure but the oil needs to be over 20*c. I've a adjustable resistor here for the oil temperature switch to fool it but where RMI SAYS it is ........it doesn't seem to be fitted on the oil module on my.17....can't say I've ever needed to replace it or had it fail only the oil pressure switch! Speak to you in a bit 😎

Hey buddy thanks for the comment. My videos get used by Bristol College and remit training as it is, I've enquired about a teaching qualification but it's too much time for me to do currently. I'm planning on running courses in our workshop in Manchester when that gets set up next year. We will have a DAF XF set up for fault diagnostics and I will most probably record the sessions as courses for people who can't attend......that's the big 5 year plan anyway ha ha ha
