Nice video mate. Had a fair few with oil pressure switches faulty on MX11 and MX13. Was also changing a coolant header tank for same reason today 😂. I use long nose spark plug pliers to get those plugs off. Like a long nose plier with a ring end at 45⁰ angle. Perfect for those plugs. Keep the videos coming 👍
hey Daniel, sorry for the late reply. DAF had a bulletin on oil pressure sensor issues, they should of done one for the header tanks too ha ha ha. i will have to invest in some pilers like that buddy
Hello great to see a new video out excellent stuff as aways and thanks i got the resettable fuses and extra long back probs from u nice kits thanks a million 👍 👍
Good video bro I had a problem just like that with the oil pressure sensor. It was going red on the DIP when accelerating, so I replaced it and it's was good to go
Great fix, clearly been a while since it was serviced. I'm not too sure if it's a pull up/down circuit design in the oil pressure switch. Is there a reason you didn't control the signal with an incandescent test light to see if the scan tool would pick it up?
Hey, thanks for the comment. Yep, the evidence suggests that but not what I was told unfortunately hence the oil pressure gauge to confirm that it still wasn't an electrical fault causing the oil pressure issue and it was a maintenance issue 🙄 I didn't do the signal wire as I don't own an incandescent test light any more 😂😂😂 I have got a power probe I use with a bulb for circuit integrity that I could have used at the ECU but would have been involved than reading the bulletin from DAF on how this particular oil pressure sensor becomes faulty from oil ingress. I've changed more of these than I've had hot dinners so went with the sensor from my stock.
Mate ..I have a question about the wiring of the euro6 daf . Those it have a resistor in the wire harness for the engine ECU .if so then how can I test it
We have had a lot of 70 plate xf units with yellow coolant warning with new sensor and tank replaced having to go into daf with software update ? Any insight what is the software problem.
Hey Ricardo. It was discussed over on the forum what chassis numbers are affected by the software and why DAF wanted trucks with low coolant levels to be presented to the dealer for reprogramming due to this 👍
Good job with that multiple pressure problem.. Oil change intervals on 120000 km are weird. On mx 11 oil level sensor shows good level, surprisingly there is nothing on dipstick. In the end I only drain 20liters from pan.. Did you deal with coolant leaks 😏
Just rewatched it, in that case (normal coolant level) i check the emergency pressure valve on the expansion tank. If no pressure track is found I move to changing tank. The floating magnet is likely to crack and gets down full of coolant.
Hey Denis. Usually, the DOC faults I see are from excessively blocked DPF'S. I start with a DPF then see if the DOC can come up to temperature and maintain it. Sometimes it's been damaged and can't make temperature, I've not tried to get these cleaned yet 🙃
Not related to video but can you help me out- I have DAF XF 106 and want to build dual stacks. How can it done correctly so I don’t ruin the DPF system?
You'll have to route it from where it normally exits the silencer. Could be tricky on a 2013-2017 model which have a diffusor instead of a normal piece of pipe/
Hey thanks for the comment. Oh most definitely. It's bad enough trying to keep these engines running as it is......not servicing them is just madness in my eyes.
@TRUCKTECHUK yes I agree with you. Spend a little bit of money now or a lot later to repair/rebuild or replace. As the old saying goes, Penny wise and pound foolish. Luckily for the owner, you caught it now. Keep up the great work 👍.
Hey norb. I know what you mean 😏. I was told it hadn't long been serviced.......that's why the oil pressure gauge came out to verify the diagnostic reading. I was going down the pump route but it was amazing to find it THAT BLOCKED 🚫
@@TRUCKTECHUKThe oil pump is PITA job as it is a cogbox out on a MX11 lol....My quick check on the wiring if a pressure switch is involved ,,switch off plug it in and blast air up it and if you get a reading on the laptop ,wiring is ok lol You can regulate the air so you know it is accurate
I fucking thought it was buddy! I spoke to a tech who said the pump could be done in situ but I was sceptical about that. I've stopped believing anyone these days unless I've done the job myself Ahhh I was going to test the signal wire back to the PCI ECU for continuity but then I knew about the bulletin for the faulty oil pressure switches so I went with that. Then WITH oil pressure, the owner kept getting yellow and red warnings on the DIP. As you can see from the gauges the blocked pickup was causing the oil pressure to go out of specification.
Good video. Have you ever come across a lf px5 which exhaust won’t get hot enough to regenerate. Only gets to 200 Celsius and won’t inject fuel to regenerate
I'm enjoying every video and hopefully I will one day afford a complete diagnostic set of jeltest
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos buddy. Hopefully, you will have a Jatest in time. Thanks for the comment 👍 .

Good job. I got the jaltest last week have to get it registered now. Have it for plant machinery, so hopefully will get on to it
Hey Robert, glad you have a jaltest now! I'm sure you will get lots of benefits from it buddy 😉

great work and interesting video mate hope your still keeping busy .
Hey Steve, yep super busy mate! Can't keep up with everything currently 😪 . Need to reorganise things think 🤔. Are you okay buddy?
@@TRUCKTECHUK yes mate still on nights at NWT .
@@stevenkerry3101 how's that going still? Getting back into the swing of things? You lot rammed with trucks 🙈
@@TRUCKTECHUK yes but i think DAF are having lots of problems with the new XF lots of re calls and engine /injector problems .
Yes mate I see the bulletins on RMI and Techshare......I could never believe they started selling NGD before anyone went on any sort of training!
Nice, a Good mechanical fault video..and not always to do with the wiring... 😊👍🏻
Hey thanks for the comment. Yep makes a change for it to not be electrical on a DAF 😂😂😂😂
nice 1 mr a need them 2 items in my life for removing the plug and oil pressure kit
Hey mick. Are you still awake ⏰️ 😴 🙃. I can sort you out with them no problem. Currently looking to add more to the shop and supply DAF parts next 😳

I'd say ya got the blocked screen just in time Russ, might have been a disaster, is the customers servicing bang on? or "a bit late at times" haha

Hey buddy how are you? You can test it with a multi-meter. This is why you should have a resistance measurement for can
