    Good old MX11 fuel system faults. I have done quite a few pressure control valves on them. I did one a while ago that had water in the tank. Injectors, unit pumps everything fooked. Great upload Russel!

      Hey thanks for the comment. I think fuel system faults are my biggest call-outs. I should look at buying these valves direct ha ha ha.

The one I looked at - the sideguard was pushed up against the tank and it rubbed through about 2/3 up. I think just driving in wet weather and it being washed was enough to get water in the fuel. Yep there was water in the separator.

      Ohh that's right pal, don't tell me...😅🙈 just today I was called to a truck because it had problems with the regeneration of P3796 and had to leave urgently, the problem was with the temperature sensors after the BPV and before the DOC
      The temperatures varied a lot, however, no error on the sensors. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  6 месяцев назад +1

      Oh noooo 🥲🥲🥲🥲 well we did speak about the temperature sensors on the forum and how they should ambient when cold.
      Usually, the truck knows if one sensor reads say 300*c at the DOC then the DPF should be 550*c so I'm surprised you didn't get a fault code but we'll done finding that 👍😎

    • @benyapetri
      @benyapetri 6 месяцев назад +1

      That's how I thought too, that it should give an error on the temperature sensors.
      It is an EAS 3, stationary regeneration failed because the temperature did not rise to the correct parameters and I succeeded with mobile regeneration when the engine was under load and high RPM.🙈

    Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how did you know for sure there should be no fuel return at idle? I understand the rail pressure drops when the injectors operate, but does it always drop enough that there's no need for the relief valve to regulate the pressure?

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Месяц назад +1

      Hi buddy. Thanks for the comment and the question. The conditions that the P.R.V. operate on this Delphi system is open at key off for pressure reductionin the rail and during an excessive pressure issue if I remember correctly, we could have checked the valve with a scope I suppose but from experience, if you have fuel out that valve during normal operation it's leaking off when it should be. No regulation of fuel pressure happens from this valve when it's running. It's all done via the fuel pumps 👍

    • @GAH4444
      @GAH4444 Месяц назад +1

      @TRUCKTECHUK ahh yes of course the fuel pump metering solenoid valve on top of the high pressure pump should adequately control the pressure sent to the rail at idle speed. Thanks for answering my question and making these brilliant videos. 👏

    Hi Russell. Just wondering where the return you took off runs to and why fuel not returning down that line then allows the truck to start?

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey thanks for the comment so the return I blanked off returns to the fuel tank. It's basically an open pipe. This must be shut when the trucks running or you lose rail pressure Which was what was happening in this instance

    • @cm95661
      @cm95661 4 месяца назад +1

      I see, I was only curious because of the none start, but then when leak off is into a container, the fault essentially remains the same, but the engine runs? If you catch my drift 😅

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  4 месяца назад +1

      I'm convinced the driver just couldn't be arsed with it so said it didn't start 😂. One way is to leave it where it is and go home, I should have tried it first really but I was only relaying the customer's concern

    Hi brother
    How can I get JALTEST?

  • @CreRay
    @CreRay 6 месяцев назад +1

    Excellent diagose as usual! My first thought when I read the title was too high internal leakage due to injector ring failing, isn't that a common issue anymore? I assume the PCV is actuated at engine off to depressurise the fuel high pressure part, is that correct? It could be good to issue a warning in the video concerning the pressures of the fuel system, fuel spray can be invisible (yes, really) and very harmful. You obviously know what you're doing but an uninformed individual could draw the conclusion that there is no risk in undoing the nuts of the fuel rail.

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Ray thanks for the comment. I've a video here where I do both this valve and all the injectors but it's 2 hours long.....so I'm cutting it down to upload one day.
      Yes the PCV should drop all rail pressure at the key off and not leak off during the running of the truck. You saying about pressures, I'm glad I didn't run the high-pressure test which would have taken the rail to 2500 bar 😅
