Your videos are magnificent. I have 25 DAF trucks and a lot of problems with diesel pressure, DPF etc... I bought Jaltest, I am just starting to use it.
You're a good guy, keep teaching us all your secrets😆😆😆.
A big thank you from France.
Hey buddy, thanks for the comment and for watching the videos!
Oh 25 DAFS lol poor you haha
I'm glad you found the content helpful......thing is, nothing I do is a secret! I just love my job and want to pay it back to people who want to learn
Great video once’s again keep up the great work
Cheers Toby 👍😎 thanks for the comment buddy 👍
Hi buddy. Another great , informative video. Looking forward to the BPV video (hopefully you’ll do one) as mine was replaced start of the year and will be interesting to see work involved, especially any setting up required when the new one is fitted. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Hey, thanks for watching the video. I should do the video...it will be pretty boring really ha ha ha it won't take an hour or two to change I'd say and it has no computer setting up involved in the replacement unfortunately.....its the cost of the part that's the issue but I think I've got a solution coming for that when I get 5 minutes ha ha ha
@@TRUCKTECHUK interesting! Could save owners a few K!
Watch all your videos now, only problem is that I think I have all the issues on my truck 😂.
@user-jl2lk7cn1k ha ha ha is it even a DAF TRUCK if it doesn't have a warning light or 4 lol
@@TRUCKTECHUKstill more comfortable from the drivers seat than our Scanias ! Dreading the day Trev says I’m getting a scanny but finding you may of put that day off for a bit longer 👍🏼 he even recommended you to Mr Talbot after sorting the fault on my truck.
He should get more DAFS 😂😂😂. I've been down to Mr. Talbot and knowing he has DAVIE-4 means that an update for your gearbox might be more possible than IMPOSSIBLE now by the way!
As usual great, informative and helpful content
Ad for your idea about bricks and mortar building/workshop think about the fixed costs involved. If you can buy the building thats your pension plan sorted, if you need to lease it, thats money down the drain
Hi buddy. Thanks for the comment and for watching 😎
I had a workshop years ago and it was a massive financial issue. Unfortunately buying a workshop won't be on the cards for along time and the flexibility to up scale the size of the workshop by moving is a plus point for renting. I just need to grow the business and i not only need the space for stock and packing, I'm hoping to run courses/classes from the unit on DAF products
Thank you.
nooooo problem my freind. 😎👌
Great video mate and by the way nice update for jaltest daf rmi, I need a subscription like this.👍
hey, beny! Its good buddy! Hopefully, they expand more on it! its certainly cheaper than DAF RMI anyway 👍
nice video great content i actually replaced a DPF filter last week myself.
Hey Steve 👋 thanks for the comment buddy. Was your DPF change due to a pressure issue or was this done for a mileage based service?
@@TRUCKTECHUK mileage mate
Did you use the official daf tool lol
@@TRUCKTECHUK no mate a couple of pry bars and it came out ok but i have used the DAF tool before
ill tell u what mate these new gen XG range are not as good as the previous XFS recalls after recalls with them
That’s another great video! Where do you get the little camera for the phone!? That’s well handy!
Hey Benny thanks for the comment and for watching buddy
It's a Dual Lens Endoscope Camera amzn.eu/d/07aOqOet.
This one above was my preferred camera but I slammed it into my draw 🫣 it's better than the one I use in the video so I'd go with that if I had the choice buddy 👍
@@TRUCKTECHUK thanks very much 👌
@bennycovelly960 no problem mate 😎
Good video,
I saw your channel by chance find it very good.
I also used to be a mechanic at Iveco and Scania a lot has changed over the years.
i see a lot of problems with fuel pressure and exhaust aftertreatment.
Are these common breakdowns?
Jaltest works well if only I had that in my time.
Keep up the good work.
greetings from the Netherlands
Hey Rick, thanks for the comment. It's amazing how things have changed over the years! I remember as an apprentice how electrical fundamentals and computers were things I didn't care about! Funny how that changed over 20 years ha ha ha
As for fuel faults, it's more of a fuel quality issue I think that causes all these issues. I think 4 more additional fuel filters and everything would be fiinneeee 😂😂😂
Noticed you use the impact ratchet. I got one but never really got on with it. You cant pull on it to even undo the bolt to start with.
But some one said to try their pass threw ratchet, you can pull on it to lossen the bolt then undo it battery power. I found it so much better than the impact version and smaller.
Hey thanks for watching 👀.
I've always liked this compared to the battery ratchet I had before this. I've always found my impact to rip most things off just fine but I know others have struggled with it power-wise 🫣
@TRUCKTECHUK my boy loves his impact ratchet uses for nearly every thing. I think you could do a video on toolbox tour. Of what you carry etc as a mobile fitter and diagnostic
Ha ha ha well I've a 72" master series with a hutch collecting dust in storage with a shed load of tools in and what I carry on the van depends on what jobs I'm going to as if it's fuel faults say I won't take electrical wiring, water pump and bucket but I will take my leak off test kit, pressure tester and compressor. It's amazing how structured I need to be in a small van. This is why I'm at a crossroads with things currently. Get a workshop or more vans on the road
Hey man, like your vid's! Few questions; Do you think DAF has more issues than other european brands like Iveco, MAN, Mercedes ? What's your take on the quality of the smaller DAF's like the LF (or new XB)?
hey, thanks for the comment and for watching the videos!
I do not think DAF have any more or fewer issues than other trucks i think it is because DAF have the market share is the reason why you see more issues from owners/drivers as they are more common.
I can't comment on the XB as they are still under warranty/RM contract maintenance. But the engine is still a Cummins ISB at the end of the day....all trucks have positives and minuses!it is knowing how to navigate the faults that are key!
@@TRUCKTECHUK Thanks for your replay man! Coming from Iveco with lot's of faults, i just bought a Daf XB. To be delivered end of year. Fingers crossed it will be smooth sailing. And as you said, 3 years warranty is a reassurance.
No problem buddy!. At least you wont have any EGR issues with your XB provided you ordered it in 4 or 6 cylinder capacity 👍😎
thanks man
No problem John. 😊 thanks for taking the time to watch buddy 😎
nice mate
Cheers mick. Hope your well buddy.....no breakdowns this weekend I hope!
@@TRUCKTECHUK now mate wasn't my weekend in was busy last night
That cloud of white smoke during the forced regen, is that normal? That happens to me sometimes while on the road, only when going up a steep hill, for a few seconds at a time during the 45 minutes or so regen that happen every 2-3 days and it scares the sht out of the passing cars around me on the road. No more fault codes now , after Davie and Jaltest diagnostic at our local Daf dealer, P3776 and P3818 codes where found, deleted and then a Daf dpf related softare update was instaled
Another good video 👌🏼 bpv 🥹🥹 the expense
Thank you buddy 👍😎
Nothing like a DAF to have one fault fixed and present another.
Oh mate if I fixed all the faults at once for customers they would have to sell the truck to pay for the repairs 😅😅😅😅.
And what's the chance of one fault happening just after I change the gearbox modulator!!!!
Yet another very informative video, Keep them coming, mate. Surprised, Daf, dont try to sell you the lube when buying a new DPF. Ive got a daf xf at minute with the same fault know where to start now 😂
Hey James thanks for the comment and watching the video. DAF doesn't want you fitting a DPF, they want their workshop doing it mate. I've always tried to educate people on how and what to use and I think the lube P80 is £80 from daf
only been putting DPFs in with the deadblow for 2 years ??? You pup..You do make it all look easy i will say ...So next week is a cam or crank bolts lol
Ha ha ha well I had the tool at DAF didn't I 😅😅😅😅 I'd buy one until I found out the price 😮💨
It is easy with the P80 lube lol
Is this your guess for that white DAF XF that kept kicking back and had pressure in the header tank?
@@TRUCKTECHUK Ah the header tank...if MY17 compressor .or dropped liner though I am not a fan of the latest head gasket..it has a fire ring that can eat in to the head
I was very close to buying a daf. Is daf really a car that breaks down a lot? Or should I look for another brand of truck? thanks.
I don't belive they break down alot.....I just think there is ALOT of DAF products on the road. So much so I can do easily do over 50 hours labour a week fixing them for customers.
👍
Thanks for dropping by buddy 👍
Friend, how can I get in touch with you? Hi 🤝
Hi, use the website over at www.trucktechuk.com. if it's for technical advice on faults you will need to use the members area
spotted sealscame adrift ????
It's time to open training courses😎
Most definitely buddy! It's always been a dream to run some sort of community workshop once a month for daf technicians. If I can get a workshop sorted, I could put a course together. Set some faults on a truck and get people down to learn. We could video the WHOLE thing and the people that couldn't make it could learn too! It would be AMAZING 👏
@@TRUCKTECHUK only problem is do you get out of touch quite quickly when your e in a classroom and no longer actually fault finding ,because stuff moves on so quickly ?
@Tubecraft1 I want to have an independent DAF workshop, most probably based in the northwest. Manchester area I'd say due to the number of customers I do work for in that area. The advantage of this then would be I could open the workshop or split it into a training area also. Customers could bring trucks with faults on a particular evening when they are struggling and as a group, we could do the diagnostics on said truck.
I wouldn't give up the whole diagnostic thing, end of the day i love doing what i do!.....my problem is I run before I can walk 😅😅😅😅😅
@@TRUCKTECHUKI just booked flight to Manchester for the workshop opening 😂 Awesome video again with not so awesome English weather. Keep the excellent work mate!
Ha ha ha I need to move house and find a workshop first but it's on the cards ha ha ha.
Yes the weather has been so crazy recently.....I think we had our week of summer months ago ha ha ha
Excellent video. always learning more every day with your experiences, you are a master of masters. I loved the video Reflect on your first year of business, on the eclipse diagnostics channel. I thought the advice you gave the boy was great, about protecting his identity, so that in Eindhoven they don't find out that an employee is giving free advice. I follow you faithfully from Colombia.
Hey man, thanks for supporting me by watching the videos 😎👍. My First year has been a whirlwind but I'm starting to find my feet.
Honestly....when I think back and look at the situation from a business perspective, I don't know what I was thinking 😅 but we're getting to a place now where I could potentially help more technicians learn with a physical 'truck tech UK' location for independent DAF product repairs and learning. Here is to year two I suppose lol
@@TRUCKTECHUK Of course it will be your second year, and there will be many more, you have enormous potential and you think about helping many more. but you have already taken the first step as an independent businessman, I am very happy that you have great support from your family. I'm glad for you
Your words mean a lot to me, thank you for the support!
Absolutely loving the longer videos! I've not noticed the new OEM RMI in Jaltest yet, Is that the most recent update?
Hey Ash 👋 it's available from 24.2 just like the Knorr-Bremse diagnostic integration is now.
Again these are all additional modules you need to speak to Eclipse about activating if you want them 😎
