Borrowing elements from Lethal Company would indeed be nice lol. Even if the actual mechanics might be a bit different due to lore and freshness(comms being limited due to garbage in the water?)
I still remember strongly my first experience in Subnautica. The most memorable moment was my first face-to-face with a Reaper. It was what I could only describe as a "five-second jumpscare". I've been spooked before, but it usually is just a jolt. When I saw those 4 red spikes coming at me, I screamed for a legit 5 or so seconds, paralysed in fear. 10/10, would drown again.
For me it was the Ghost Leviathans. The Reapers weren't scary to me for very long. But those things...*shudder*. Went into the Dead Zone to see how far I could go. Two of them warped in and rammed Riley like a freight train.
they dropped the first game after a couple years of development and barely expanded it. not gonna pay for a second one to be dropped when they tire of it for the next title to chase.
@@geronimo5537 dude they made a masterpiece of a game and thought they had done enough with it, it was released in like 2018, they released BZ in 2021, now they have been working on this for nearly 3 years now, they will keep working on it for another 3 at least, learn to be grateful
Hi, Unknown Worlds! I’m a big fan of Subnautica and I’m really excited for Subnautica 2. I would love to see some new giant sea creatures in free mode, like: Cthulhu with tentacles Megalodon - a huge shark Blue Whale and Sperm Whale - peaceful creatures Orca and Bloop - both aggressive and peaceful creatures These creatures could be either aggressive or peaceful, adding more excitement to exploration. Thanks for all the great work you’re doing!
The depths are calling once again, with mysteries anew, To dive into the ocean's heart, beneath the sky so blue. With creatures strange and currents wild, the dangers still remain, But now in part 2's vast expanse, there's more for us to gain.
my only real concern from this trailer is if they try and make it scary on purpose. the first game was terrifying by accident. im worried the devs trying will just make it predictable.
I just really hope in singleplayer your character is silent, I loved the eerieness that is felt in Subnautica 1 of just hearing the motors of your things and ambient noises, really helped the vibe
Perhaps, still, it doesn't change my point at all though. I love a silent protagonist, makes the eerieness better -for me- Makes it way easier to feel like you're the character and inmerse -to me- Makes it feel a lot more "lonely" since you're not hearing another person talk that is near you, again, -for me- Im not saying "Omg girl needs to shut up this is unplayable" Im saying I LOVED how it felt, and I wish it can be redone again. I won't be complaining if someone likes a protagonist that talks -that's for them-
@@doomchromee8648and it added nothing to the game and obviously ate resources from producing the things that made the first game better because those things were simply not there or heavily reduced in quality or scale “y’all”.
But what if it DOES land on your b-day? Makes it extra special. Hell, if it landed on mine, call me crazy, but I would call out sick just to play this all day. 😆😆😆
That’s what most people already feel in the first game because when they’re having to travel to the sunbeam or if they’re one of those curious about the aurora wreck they usually travel at the surface. They usually don’t see all the progressively scarier biomes until a reaper grabs them underwater or a warper pulls them down. Or when they reach their destination. This is all avoided for the people who just somehow instantly get a seamoth.
It’s fine if it’s multiplayer, but I hope they give you a robust solo option as well. Part of the allure and terror of the first one was the isolation.
It's been confirmed to be playable in both solo and multiplayer. Personally, I'm hoping there will be crossplay; my friend whom I want to play it with only has PS5, wheras I only got PC...
Y'all should add an Anglerfish type leviathan which it's lights/eyes look like the headlights of whatever the most common vehicle is (probably the one in the trailer.) It's less effective in singleplayer but it'll be great for multiplayer.
Please give us a monster that shines like a ships headlights that would be so fucking terrifying Edit: I haven't played dredge, so this was a genuine thought from my nearly smooth brain. Also thanks for the likes, never had a comment pop off like this.
I feel like that could happen if the game takes place a few hundred years in the future, when parts of the planet are populated by humans. The local animals would get used to the headlights, so a species could learn to mimic them in some way to capitalize on that fear
@@heartlessoblivion9424 The crab and the squid leviathan are actually going to be in the game though... And they look amazing. Also, the Devs released new teasers which are screenshots from the game and the graphics look beautiful
I really hope that isn't the biggest leviathan, or at least that other leviathans come close in size. Having 5 plane-sized leviathans chasing you around the darkest depths of this new planet would be insane.
Saubnautica inspired me to visit the Philippines in 2018, especially the soundtrack. If anyone of the Devs reads this, have my heartfelt thanks. I discovered the seas because of you.
The entire country is an archipelago. Everywhere you go, you'll see the ocean. And the oceans are absolutely stunning. . .if you are away from cities that is lolol As a lad that came from there, I so get it.
This trailer is structured the same of as the one for the first Subnautica. Waking up in an unknown safe location, getting pulled into an unsafe location and then a swarm of holefish swim away from (presumably) the main leviathan, wich shows up behind the character with a screech/roar.
This game ticks three boxes I absolutely adore in sci-fi: speculative evolution, alien life, and aesthetics so unique they can't be summed up in a single word ending with “-punk.” I’m drowning in anxiety! But I must admit, there are some glaring issues with Below Zero’s story; it feels like the writers missed that classic Mark Twain quote... Given that it’s supposed to be multiplayer, I’m unsure how they’ll handle the story. Fingers crossed it doesn’t ruin the franchise, but with speculative evolution, alien life, and aesthetics so distinct they defy a one-suffix “-punk” label- just shut up and take my money and love already!
They already said the story is designed around a solo experience, with the optional addition of coop that wouldn’t affect the story in any major way (i think). Crossing my fingers they stay true to their word 🤞
@@icedtea-xn9kc same! I'm afraid you're right. But at least it should be a new map, and they might change things. Maybe at night, it will actually be more dangerous. Maybe, one area is only safe at night. I hope they put in some twists for returning players, but either way it will be great to dive back in
Man, i got school tomorrow, and i saw this. I can't F-ING SLEEP!!! the first game was SO good, one of the top games I've ever played. The story, horror, atmosphere, music, exploration aspect, origianality, vehicles, crafting, literally every aspect was on the dot, complete bullseye for me, especially since i love the ocean and sci-fi futuristic themes. Add a touch of fear, and i can't ask for much more. I can't even describe the feeling i have for this game, def a diehard fan, not to mention the overwhelming nostalgia i have for it.
Below Zero wasn't so much smaller, but rather, the scope felt shorter. However I would argue that it was bigger HORIZONTALLY rather than vertically. Subnautica 1 was very very deep, but BZ had so many parts where you were just on the surface a lot, and getting lost there. I personally would have preferred more underwater environments, but I understand the whole freezing mechanic would have only worked best with the surface actions.

@@ayoubp7689 Yes, I completely agree. As hyped as I am for the sequel, I fear, they will never capture the magic of the first one. The fact, that you were the only human alive on an entire alien world, added so much to the immersion and unique quality of the gaming experience. Not one human npc interaction, I enjoyed that so much. Every single human voice was nothing but a recording of an person long gone and there was no one left, but you in a strange world. Also, I hope the pace of the game will be as slow and zen-like as the first and I wish, there won't be too many places above water to explore but rather vast (unlike in Below Zero) and diverse biomes.
Subnautica is by far my favorite game I’ve every played. Sandbox story games are literally my genre, I love them and subnautica is by far the best one. I’m absolutely excited for this
True, but in order to enrich the Single player experience, online elements like the aquatic gem shop provide content for a modern audience. After you log in through the subnautica launcher, you'll need to link your EA, steam and gmail accounts, to verify that you can legally play offline. You'll need to log in once each play session, but you'll be able to access the laviathan class daily quests and earn NFT tokens or real life money! Anyway...hype is the mind killer. I''ll trust these larger studios and AAA releases once theyre actually released. Its been a tragic decade for sequels plopping before and after release. 😐
@@SuperFanatic22731 there could be so many quests what?? "gather x amount of titanium" "travel down 200 m underwater" they literally have crashed lifepod quests in the game
Yeah, its great that the devs did a poll and asked there vocal minority that is active in their discord (or whatever) what they wanted most in the sequel and Coop won and they are running with it. ...while isolation is one of the pillars that upheld the 1st's glory and without which Sub Zero sank... GG Unknown Worlds... Man I miss the original dev team...
Oh boy! The spookiness the suspense the anxiety and feeling of helplessness, give it all to me even though I can never play any horror game I can play this for some weird reason.
You know, knowing the teaser trailer of the first game, there’s a good chance that that tentacle leviathan-class fauna might actually be friendly towards the player.
@@Home12345hmhm, sea emporer for example was sentient and communicative with humans, wanted help and aided the humans in helping it- not aggressive. its reasonable to believe in other non aggro leviathans and id be super excited if they developed the intelligence of another class of them since they could be such ancient evolved beings.
Imagine if there is an achievement called 'deja vu' or 'PTSD', after you get that message "Are you certain whatever you are doing here is worth it?" from the PDA system.
I love the thought the developers put into Subnautica, just look at its name. "Sub" in Latin means "under", and "Nautica" means "Of the sea" so put together it's "under of the sea" or "under the sea"

Hi, Unknown Worlds!
I’m a big fan of Subnautica and I’m really excited for Subnautica 2. I would love to see some new giant sea creatures in free mode, like:
Cthulhu with tentacles
Megalodon - a huge shark
Blue Whale and Sperm Whale - peaceful creatures
Orca and Bloop - both aggressive and peaceful creatures
These creatures could be either aggressive or peaceful, adding more excitement to exploration. Thanks for all the great work you’re doing!
I can't believe my eyes. The trailer for my most beloved survival game is only part 2? I'm shocked, I didn't expect it, I'm very happy that it's true.
The depths are calling once again, with mysteries anew,
To dive into the ocean's heart, beneath the sky so blue.
With creatures strange and currents wild, the dangers still remain,
But now in part 2's vast expanse, there's more for us to gain.

I just really hope in singleplayer your character is silent, I loved the eerieness that is felt in Subnautica 1 of just hearing the motors of your things and ambient noises, really helped the vibe
Idk what tf version of Bz yall played but its literally also just like you described, she talks like twenty times throughout the entire game
Perhaps, still, it doesn't change my point at all though.
I love a silent protagonist, makes the eerieness better -for me-
Makes it way easier to feel like you're the character and inmerse -to me-
Makes it feel a lot more "lonely" since you're not hearing another person talk that is near you, again, -for me-
Im not saying "Omg girl needs to shut up this is unplayable"
Im saying I LOVED how it felt, and I wish it can be redone again.
I won't be complaining if someone likes a protagonist that talks -that's for them-
I agree, makes the character more adaptable to different peoples' personalities
Audio files and radio kept the game interesting enough… agreed don’t want the player character to say random stuff
@@doomchromee8648and it added nothing to the game and obviously ate resources from producing the things that made the first game better because those things were simply not there or heavily reduced in quality or scale “y’all”.

@@CrackedTubeGamer thats a weird way to spell "lucky"
You mean in 2028?... Because it won't be finished until at least then.
Going from the shallows straight to an almost void level of scary seems like a great idea
It was confirmed that the multiplayer is completely optional, and the game is made to play solo
Obviously there will be single player it's subnautica.
It's been confirmed to be playable in both solo and multiplayer. Personally, I'm hoping there will be crossplay; my friend whom I want to play it with only has PS5, wheras I only got PC...

Let’s hope that it isn’t a let down like the shadow.
It’s literally a worse Reaper that’s 5 meters longer.

Just got into Subnautica a few days ago and I already have 20+ hours, so hyped for the sequel
Saubnautica inspired me to visit the Philippines in 2018, especially the soundtrack. If anyone of the Devs reads this, have my heartfelt thanks. I discovered the seas because of you.
It's about the treasures we picked up along the way and you're one of them. Boop.
What made you think of the Philippines when you played Subnautica? Genuinely curious.
Nigga what? Who thinks of the philippines when playing a videogame😂
The entire country is an archipelago. Everywhere you go, you'll see the ocean. And the oceans are absolutely stunning. . .if you are away from cities that is lolol
As a lad that came from there, I so get it.
Ew Philippines
It just makes me happy seeing a small indie dev getting successful and becoming a household name, all of you guys deserve it.
It was always a team I think, not just a solo dev back then
This trailer is structured the same of as the one for the first Subnautica. Waking up in an unknown safe location, getting pulled into an unsafe location and then a swarm of holefish swim away from (presumably) the main leviathan, wich shows up behind the character with a screech/roar.
I thought so as well and while I'm really hyped for the game, I hope they don't try to recreate Subnautica 1 and deliver a similar, but new experience
@@agblacky Hopefully that similarity is just them paying homage to the first game, rather then a red flag.
It's made by different studio and people. I would be cautious and not hyped over this
@@Dial8Transmitionit's still being made by unknown worlds tho?
But theres coop in this one tho ❤🎉🎉
The trailer for my most beloved game has finally been released!
Thank you very much, the Subnautica development team!
I’m struggle to find words to describe just how back we are
simply, incredibly back
This game ticks three boxes I absolutely adore in sci-fi: speculative evolution, alien life, and aesthetics so unique they can't be summed up in a single word ending with “-punk.” I’m drowning in anxiety!
We are so black fam
Subnautica is one of those games you’d want to experience for the first time again, it’s so amazing I’m so glad there’s another one!

I seriously cant wait for this and the fact that it is co-op is amazing really cant wait for this

Overwatch 2: 👀
i tihnk it was confirmed that it will be bigger, with more leviathans and will have coop, take my words with a grain fo salt tho
@@andrea5202Sicuramente ci saranno più abissi e ancora più profondità, altrimenti il trailer manderebbe un messaggio sbagliato

There was a second character, but it doesn't seem stranded, which is a shame. That was the best part about the first one, feeling completely alone
