    If you give the ecu a little a tap with a tapping hammer above the plugs they normally cut out or start working again if its the ecu 👌 same as how your impact gun cut it of due to the vibration. Great explanation on your diagnosis process as all your videos

      Hey buddy. Thanks for the comments, usually when I go to them she's wirring away and I'm ready with an ECU. I've not tried vibrations before on it only heat but I will remember this one thanks 👍😎

      @TRUCKTECHUK yes same soon as I hear the ventilation module I'm like yaaay another ecu 😆 pretty sure the day time running lights normally stay on as well. Only just discovered your channel enjoying it so far currently in the process of setting up for going mobile on my own 1st April so now got into watching other people who do so on youtube 😅.

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  10 дней назад

      @CRFSMedia I will check the lights next time too. Change 2 ecus a month usually on average. It's happens that often I never film them 😅
      I've been on my own now since last July, and being mobile certainly keeps the overheads down. As long as you have a good customer Base you will be fine! If you are doing work for a lot of random, new people as i do....get a card reader like Sum Up. Don't give people an excuse NOT to be able to pay you on the spot! Cash flow is the top priority 👌

    Excellent video, thanks for your hard work in doing these uploads.
    Do you ever get bored of saying "Jaltest from Eclipse Diagnostics"? Haha😅
    Had faults like this before which ends up being slightly corroded/loose fitting connector pins, it can put yourself down a rabbit hole easily so I give most plugs a spray off with contact cleaner or contact oil, if appropriate, when taking them off.

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Месяц назад +1

      Ha ha ha no problem buddy. I started doing these videos to just tell people about faults and stuff.
      I have a good relationship with Eclipse Diagnostics (jaltest UK) and if I were watching and looking to purchase a kit this is the company I think would have the best experience with customer care-wise.
      I've been down so many rabbit holes over the years 😵😵😵, it's amazing how stupid little things can mess up the diagnostic process.

    hello, 8.30min the indicators do not show the adblue level, the starters do not start and all errors are displayed, in Poland with such symptoms you pull out the big grey relay and if then the starters start but the car does not start then we already know that PCI needs to be repaired, a very common fault,I like watching your videos, you show a lot of interesting things, I also repair only DAF, I regenerate a lot of parts for these cars myself, and I also sell them all over Europe,

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Месяц назад

      Hi, buddy thank you for the comment and for watching 👀 😎👌
      We both knew it needed an ECU but it would have been a short video if I didn't test it for other people to learn 😂😂😂.
      I don't repair things here although I'd love to start with a hot air station and a hot plate BUT it's all down to time!
      We have a company here that repairs ecus but they cause lots of problems....they come back with faults that won't go away like unit pump faults 😫.
      I'd rather buy and program a new ECU with 12 months warranty as it's piece of mind for the customer.....and I don't have to open the ECU 😂😂😂😂 I'm currently after a parts from Pierburg if you know of any suppliers!

    • @YosemiteSam82
      @YosemiteSam82 Месяц назад +1

      you have to try our Polish ecu repair😉cars drive all over Europe😁and it also gives a one year guarantee only the ecu cannot be opened before that, someday I will send you my repair sample, it's great that you work on the jaltest program I also have it and I am very satisfied, but now apparently Launch is also a good tester I am buying it and I will let you know how it works, I have also learned a lot from your videos so continue and I am waiting for the next ones💪

      Launch is the same software as topdon apparently....I sent mine back. I did a review on it last year. m.ruclips.net/video/iHboTcs1myQ/видео.html
      I didn't think it was anywhere near JALTEST! Missing ecus and no real functions not to mention faulty tests.
      Take care buddy and nice talking to you 😎

  • @stevesauerland223

    Thanks, always good quality videos. Curious what was unusual about the PCI failure mode? This is what i have encountered on all PCI failures, PCI in boot mode with CCV module spinning away over here in the States. Just had two fail this way last week. Not familiar with DAF wiring, but maybe another module had not gone to sleep yet when testing V-CAN2 resistance as seeing readings were going ranging around. Resistance test and view waveform with scope both valid tests.

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Месяц назад +1

      Hey Steve, thanks for the comment and for watching the video.
      It usually takes me 10 mins to decide if a PCI ECU has failed. Like you say CCV going and fault codes relating to can time outs from PCI in the other ecus.
      I thought I'd test it for a change....do a video BUT it was V-CAN 2 that got me.
      The fault is usually reproducible when the truck gets hot hence why I started warming ECUS with a hot air gun years ago but it was the fact that my impact gun was triggering it this time that I found odd like you say something asleep but then I should have maybe pulled the batteries off to do my resistance test!

    • @stevesauerland223
      @stevesauerland223 Месяц назад +1

      @@TRUCKTECHUK Can't remember where I heard it from, but the common failure was a solder crack to the boot flash loader IC. Same here, heat seems to play a role. Tow them in, then fire up next day! Thanks for reply.

    Is it a trusted test to use a LED light to test powers and grounds on an unplugged circuit IE no current flow no voltage drop. I know in this case it was the ecu, but could a LED test light that draws very little current get you in trouble

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Месяц назад +1

      Ha ha ha I've just checked the current draw of the test lamp and I don't think 0.9amps is enough to be load testing wiring too 😂😂😂😂 I should have plugged the female terminals into the consumer as usual I.e the ECU.

    that was an interesting PCI fault, usuallywhen the crankcase unit is spinning it means its ROM booted, partially working, from the thumbnail i thought it was a PCI 2, i always bring my bench harness with me to quickly test for it

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Месяц назад

      Hey thanks for the comment buddy, I think due to the age of the truck (2014) and the ECU being 10 years old it's not your typical fault hence why the usual symptoms aren't being displayed.
      As for the thumbnail I best fix that 😂😂😂😂😂 I just slapped PCI in hit download.

      Hi buddy. You can have this system for 65 pounds a week, that's the system and license fee. I've another customer who has just purchased jaltest and he changes a £50 diagnostic charge every time he plugs his computer into a customer's truck.
      As for my local DAF dealer, I still do work for DAF. Most of my work is in Manchester these days though.
