Retirement means shifting from a stressful life where you're not so happy to a life where you're happy. Retirement doesn't mean you stop earning money, that you no longer care about money, that you no longer work at something, or that you do nothing. Retirement means retiring from a life you don't like to a life you like. That's all it means. Dude! Excellent videos but you eat too much bread and other flour-based food. It shows on you. Don't eat bread or sweets for a week and see how you feel and look.

My time in Pattaya is coming to an end. Bangkok next and then Bali. Need to try and get that perfect shot of the passport so their website accepts it. It's not that big a hassle, but even something this small seems like a hassle when life in Thailand runs so smooth. Thanks for the vids; it's great to be here instead of Canada.

Hmmm, have to partially disagree, it depends in what environment you grew up, not to mention the fact there is a lot of jealousy and envy, even within one's own family. My motto is NEVER talk about money on a personal note, ESPECIALLY on " social" media, no benefits there whatsoever, most lifestyles are about "show and impress " even if that means digging a debthole, you show what is possible on a low budget retirement, whatever someone else does would be none of my business as much as my business is none of others people's business, I prefer privacy over posturing any time, each to their own though, do what suits you best 😊

Ive found some investing platforms dont work in Bali and its impossible to access them, i gather id need a VPN to do it, would that be right.? Luckily some of them do work here and im ok.

In Jan/feb every year the rubbish from the rivers of Java was ashore on kuta beach and its sometimes knee deep in litter, quite a sight, very sad.

Even your shirt feels happier in Penang 😅. I would love to experience that curry chicken, nan and samosa. I am in Guatemala, and food here is horrendous. I just had lunch and it was really a boiled chicken and rice, No flavor or taste. You can have a lot of money on you and still go hungry. Lately I have to resort to fried chicken and french fries, there is nothing else decent here. I will take the fried chicken over boiled one.

Inspired by this video I will leave my couch and do something.

You're in Batu Ferrenghi? There's not much out there, but beach resorts and a large night market(great hawker food centre). Will you be moving to Georgetown? There's more going on. We've stayed in Queens Bay, Georgetown, and Gurney. All great places.

I have a question. I suspect that some of the places you stay don't have in-room safes. In that case do you take all your valuables (passport, cash, computer) with you as you go for your walks, or do you leave them in the room?

I like your videos and I like your personality. Having said that your minimalist lifestyle seems to suit you but in so far as aspirational and inspirational for young members of my family,I doubt it. Generally speaking a man is in his most financially productive age probably right up to his late 50s, early 60s. IMO he should focus on career ,wealth creation and to look forward to a debt free retirement having accumulated sufficient wealth. I can't advocate living a minimalist nomadic lifestyle into retirement over 60. I can advocate being able to travel in comfort ,not watching every penny on a budget. I'm telling this from personal experience which is different to yours. As you said ,on $2000 dollars a month you'd be struggling back at home. I live in Chiang Mai on more than that but I could live comfortably back home too. I got those choices because I made sure to have them in my productive years . I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm saying that putting up yourself as a role model is not for most people. Aloha! 😀
