Very sound investment ideas. I have also been heavily invested in AMD and NVDA since 2015, given the omnipresence of semiconductors in our lives, the high barriers to entry and awesome profit margins involved. Been going strong as a self-employed trader now for almost 10 years and looking to explore the expat/digital nomad lifestyle as of this year (will be in Japan, Thailand, Vietnam in October). It’s a defensive position. No dividend. One third are defensive stocks. Over time 10+% return. One third forever stocks. These are stocks that have weathered the storms and have consistently innovated and become icons of reliability. Large growth with some tech. Well run, plenty of cash on hand. Average return 12-15%.
I have resources monthly that I live well under. I’m a SE Asian slow traveler. An exciting interesting creative lifestyle for of adventure, cultural exploration and personal growth. @pattaya2115 in the US, there’s something called a $1,000/month rule for retirement.
In order to receive $1,000/month retirement at 5% annual rates, you’d need to have $240,000 in savings.
As Chris has said, he is generating about $2,000/month in income from his investment. Easy math would tell you that he’s got roughly around $500,000 in saving (give or take).
I might not be exact but I’m sure I’m pretty close with my estimate.
