Great update on what it’s like in beautiful Bali. I have been visiting the island for 35 years and count about 15 visits over the years. Seminyak and Canggu were dirt tracks and palm trees when I first visited in 1989. Can’t wait to get back again. Safe travels 👏❤️👏
Great tips in what to look for when visiting Bali. Our favorite town is Ubud. We enjoy it's natural beauty of terraced rice fields and lush landscapes. Dane, what do you think Bali will look like in five years? Hope married life so far is treating you well. Sending you lots of love ❤❤ Well Wishes from Richmond, Va. Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Dane, thank you both so much for this update about travelling to our families favourite holiday destination (my first family holiday with my parents back in 1985). We used to take the kids at least once a year, pre Covid. But this video really helped us put a lot. From e-sims, Wise card, Visa's, pretty much everything in this vlog, is bang-on. We returned for the first time in 6 years and had a great time, the kids are appreciating Bali at a different level as they are now mini-adults. Only down side to holiday was purchased a new camera, used the recommended SD card, and didn't record everything (not sure if you have had something similar)... I guess we will have to go back. Just wanted to shout out how much we all appreciate your efforts in putting these together. Been following this channel for years, keep up the great work.
Comments like this literally make our day! We get to do what we love and help other people travel, feel comfortable and have the best time. Beyond glad you and yours all loved it again!
Thank you so much. My wife and I are heading off on Wednesday for our sixth visit, but this is special. Our first was in the 1990s with all our seven children. We figured that with such a large family we only had one big family holiday in us, and it was amazing. Well one daughter wants to celebrate her 40th birthday there and most of the other kids will be also coming. The Customs form heads up was very welcome. I already have the Visa and Tourist fee forms completed, but will get the Customs one done tomorrow, so should have a seamless entry. I keep on saying that this one will be our last Bali trip, but its cheaper than a holiday in Queensland, so maybe not. The only downside is that I will be expected to pick up the tab at Potato Head etc.
We're beyond happy this was helpful - we're guessing you're there now? Hope you're absolutely loving it and the fam aren't making you pay for too many Bintang's and Flat Whites 🤣
Thank you so much! My family and I are going to Bali in April, and your videos have been incredibly helpful. It's great to hear advice from fellow Kiwis. I'm also from New Zealand, so your content really resonates with me. Keep up the fantastic work!
Hello I don’t normally comment on videos but thought this deserves one! Out of all the Bali videos we have watched you guys are our favourite! We are off to Bali in a couple of weeks and have learnt so much from you guys. You are so informative and your video editing is spot on. Keep up the awesome work :D
Thanks for that update mate, we refer to your videos all the time! We are in NZ South Island now and checking them daily as we make our way around. Bali is next month and this video is perfectly timed for us. 😊❤️
Loving Ubud atm! 😍 locals are so friendly. I watched your Bali guide video before coming here which helped me tremendously, thank you! 🙏 and yes, the e-gates at immigration were a breeze 😎
Thanks so much for this video. Because of the helpful information, my partner and I were able to pass through Bali Immigration very quickly. Thanks much appreciated .
My husband and I have been going to Bali since 1988. So glad we went to places of interest and were the only tourists. These places are now overrun with tourists.
Such an informative video as always. Thanks, Dane. It's lovely to see your hand with the wedding ring on it 😜👍🎉. Sending lots of love to both of you. 💖
Just bought flights for my little girl & I to spend a week in Bali in July .. kinda nervous now that it’s going to be a hectic nightmare! Would love to find quieter, traditional (and affordable!) places to stay and eat.. could any kind soul suggest a basic itinerary for such?! Much appreciated.. 🙏🏼❤️
We hope you love it as much as us, and your girl! Everyone has different preferences, you will find what you want in Bali for sure. Our guide will help you a lot with those decisions, if you're interested in getting all the info you need right away
Thank you for this video. It was a massive help on booking everything especially completing the eVISA and the customs forms before hand. Appreciate the advice
Wow this was an amazing guide, thanks for the straight-to-point delivery you clearly know your stuff and because of that I have just purchased your guide to help me navigate my two-month solo travel to Bali this September - great work dude! 👊🏽
Love Bali, returned to Auckland yesterday after short visit, Canggu is a nightmare with traffic be prepared even if you are on a bike, just a reality now.
A few of us travelling to Bali in June form the UK, Aus and NZ. We were sooooo confused about if we should do the EVoA online or not.. !. The internet sent me your video..boom decision done. Thanks so much
Great video as always! I've lived in Canggu for almost two years now. If I need to get to Seminyak I walk down on the beach as it takes less time than driving :)
Hi! Thanks for the video-it’s really helpful. I’m planning a trip to Bali in October, but I haven’t received the COVID-19 vaccine. Could you let me know if vaccination is required for entry or if there are any other specific requirements? A video or some guidance on this would be greatly appreciated!
Hi guys, thanks for all your tips on Bali. I went to Vassani to check it out and its exactly as you said, awesome location and very clean. Thankyou. Another question for you please. I am looking for a dentist to get some basic work done. Can you please recommend a reputable one either in Canggu, Seminyak or Kuta area? I heard of this one but its a beauty clinic as well and not sure about it, have you heard of this one in Kuta, called Lumina Aesthetics Clinic Jl. Dewi Sri No 88E Kelurahan Legian Kec. Kuta Selatan Kota Badung? Or do you have a recommendation please, where you know other Aussies have been and had an excellent experience? Thanks 😊
It's my first time watching your channel! Awesome video! Question? I heard most places have cold pools. Any idea on how I can get a heated outdoor pool? They don't have a filter for it on any booking apps.
Thanks - great video. Just a couple of questions. 1 - The sims you got delivered to your accommodation and all the passport photos needed etc is that legit and do you need to do it for 4 different phones or can you order 4 sim cards with 1 phone details? 2 - Any recommendations on scuba diving operators - esp as I have 2 teenagers (with their padi ) who want to go diving?
Thanks! Yup it's all legit, we've had hundreds of people use the link and do the same since we shared it - easily the best way to do it. But you do have to complete the forms for each device, so it takes a bit of time. We don't have any recs for scuba though, sorry. Travel well
Awesome video ,good to have a honest insight , been to bali 3times love the island ,looking at moving there for 1year from nz with my wife and 3 year old son ,what visa would be the one to live there that long and is budget monthly rentals still around in kuta area ,if you have any advice or tips would so appreciate your honest feedback, thankyou
Filling out the customs declaration form online and its saying its 55USD? already paid the $50 for the visa and thought the customs declaration was free?
Thanks for the video guys. We have two kids (3 and 9) and going there in August. Assuming kids can't go through the e-gate, do you think it is still worth doing it online?
You're welcome! I'm actually not sure about the egate age rules sorry, can they use them elsewhere in the world? If not, you will still save time for the first line!
Can you please tell us you its for the best that's its become a no longer option? is it because that the prices are all the same or whats you point in this? thanks
Yes it will be. With a local sim you will need to remove your current sim (son can’t get calls on that number) with the eSIM option you will have two phone numbers simultaneously
I was in Bali a few weeks ago and didn’t enjoy it. From the moment we landed with a sticky dirty floor on the airport , to the traffic , burning garbage everywhere . It wasn’t an ideal visit. Stayed at a number of “nice “ resorts and the food was ok , beds were hard, smelly bathroom vents , doors that weren’t sealed well letting mosquitoes in. The resorts were also 180-260us so it’s not a cheap place to visit. A few people we traveled with tried to eat outside of the resort at local restaurants and spent a week on the John with Bali belly. Bali may have been great to visit in years past when it was cheap and not as crowded. Idk. I’d much rather spend my vacation on a European coast line for the money. And enjoy eating whatever food is available.
We’re really sorry you didn’t enjoy it, there’s definitely pros and cons to Bali. It might not suit your travel style, it’s really not about the resort life there
Can check with u if its better to book accommodation online way ahead or can do 1 night b4 or even book at the hotel itself...also for gili t as well as kuta. Thks
Hi I have a question. So if we get a visa before hand. We can just go to the machines to scan and get out? I spend 2 hours waiting on the line last I’ve I went to Bali. This time I am willing to pay more money to avoid it. So if we get a visa before hand we can avoid the queue?.
When we were there it took us 2 hours to get from Legian to the airport. Luckily we always allow heaps of time. People on Bali Bogans have been saying getting through Immigration leaving is taking forever and people missing flights.
If you’re staying longer than 30 days then maybe it makes more sense, but it should not be that much. I’m sorry to say, I think you’ve either been scammed all together, or at least ripped off.
There's some very good budget accommodation and warungs. What? Exchange rate not as good??? Currently approx AUD1 = 10500. 1988 it was 1250 to 1500 and we had rates between 4000 to 9500 over the years. I hope it stays over 10000 rupiah otherwise Bali will become expensive.
Went last November and beware of those porters at airport, as I took my bag of carousel he just grabbed my friends and my bag started walking towards immigration. I said no I can take my own bag Thankyou. He grabbed our bags again and started walking towards the taxi area demanding a fee. I said no, I’m not paying, my friend was terrified. Balinese are super friendly to get their money. I go every year so I was not fazed, my driver is always there. They are definitely getting rude unfortunately.
Thanks for the video. To be fair it might have been faster at the bloody airport with visa application, what a crap load of hoops to jump through for that and uploading all the documents lol. Also it seems there are a few scam websites for the tax that look similar to the real one... A quick note for anyone watching.
As an update we arrived yesterday. We were so much more prepared thanks to all of your info in this video. Thanks again. Also a word of warning to any watchers be careful of the peninsula hotel time share scam in kuta. Told us we have "won 10 million rupees" didn't fall for it but a quick look online shows others have....
Thanks for coming back to update! Lots of people shared the same sentiment, not wanting to do all that annoying paperwork online, and it's justified cos their systems suck. Then you arrive and realise WOW it's a big difference if there is any more than 50-100 other travellers airing at the same time. Glad it was helpful.

Amazing knowledge and so helpful as it’s been 4 years since going to Bali

Do you have any recommendations for private half-day drivers? Or is it a case of asking the hotels for their recommendations?

It's my first time watching your channel! Awesome video! Question? I heard most places have cold pools. Any idea on how I can get a heated outdoor pool? They don't have a filter for it on any booking apps.
I have never found that. Maybe if the pool was in the shade?? But believe me you will appreciate a cold pool if there is such a thing due to the heat.
Hey! As Caroline said below, don't think we've ever found a warm pool in Bali. The heat can be INTENSE, a cold pool is perfection

Hi anyone can explain more with tourism tax?
One good advice: if you find a resort you like.. WhatsApp them and you will get at least 20% less price
For a lot of places this can be true, even more so if you’re staying long term!
Wow I didn’t even think about the SIM card.

That’s exactly right! Do the visa online and you skip all the lines and waiting, go straight to egate
