A bank knows their customer can travel. They dont (or should not) block their account or credit card specially with 2FA. The main reason for a VPN is that it encrypts the data between your phone, through the data provider, or through the wifi router of your hotel until the VPN station, so that nobody can "see" you, capture your data, install an ap or a virus ...

Chris, you have a VPN and an iPhone. Sounds like you’re somewhat tech savvy. You just smile and point when you want to communicate? Why not have a translation app on your phone?
Aloha, Great info. what happens if you get your iPhone stolen or lost? By the way, I just finished up three weeks in Chiang Mai and was a bit disappointed. The town has become way too over-touristed. It felt like being on a cruise port of call. Thinking of May Hong son next time or returning back up to Mai Sai. Keep up the great work, A hiu hou.

@@josephschickler5192 I totally get you. Please don’t stress. Go into the Apple Store and sign up for an hour of Genius Bar help. Tell them what you need to do. Total backup in cloud, increase cloud to 2 TB size. Security updates, backup emails to recover if stolen or hacked. Get it all done :-)
Besides pointing at a dish and pointing to yourself, then giving the #1 ……you could also photograph and show that picture to the waiter to order your food. Don’t forget the “Thumbs Up” sign when it’s GOOD. And when paying…..If you don’t get a paper bill or if you don’t clearly get the numbers which are being spoken to you. Bust out your portable calculator and point to it, showing it to them. They can then tap out the cost/numbers and show you the numbers (cost) of your item(s). What about your backup cash and credit cards, laptop and passport, where do you keep them when you are out walking? I know you can use hotel safes but most of those electronic ones can be breached as staff will have an override code. I lock my stuff up in a slash proof bag and lock it to a chair or something solid cant be moved easy. What do you do?

What happened to good old pickpocketing? Today you have to look out for phishing emails, lottery scams, princes from Nigeria etc. I'm getting too old for this world👀
VPN’s aren’t really necessary anymore. Bank’s authentification is set up to recognize your mobile devices. Therefore do not try to use other devices to enter your bank’s PIN number. This will set off their alarm bells and cause your account access to be frozen.
Hell to the No am I going give my biometric data to Apple, Google, etc. If you think its harmless, thats ok I understand, you just need to admit you haven't taken a dive into what these companies do with your data.
They already have our data. You are using YT. Nowhere to hide. All you can do protect yourself from scammers. Your data has already been harvested and sold.
To know if an email is bogus, appart from the 100 typos and writing style, just tap "forward" and you will immediately read the scammer's address. They are so lazy that their address will read "scammer@xxxx" 😂😂😂🎉😅😅🎉🎉🎉
Enjoying your videos very much. Lived on Oahu for a number of years and did the single travel through Cambodia and Thailand for a while. My question is, if you use a VPN for online banking does that throw off any alarms when using your debit card at an ATM in Southeast Asia?
