I am blessed with a job that I am good at and that I enjoy for the most part. It am a civil service specialist, and there are only 30 people in the State of California that does what I do. I know that I am valued, and job security is a blessing during these times. Mahalo.

I was a school teacher so I did not have to face that issue although it will have some impact. Still difficult to replace teachers as such but teaching has its own problems.
My hope is that AI works with teachers and medical professionals to make their jobs more efficient.

I just watched a video from a moto vlogger who just got fired by text message while he was on vacation, he’s a technical social media/ marketing specialist, he built a system from scratch and trained it to run using AI, he said they sent an explanation that he was no longer needed as the system he created is autonomous. He basically worked himself out of a job.

@@RetireandGo I live in Uluwatu, opened a business here with some friends after leaving Australia during the recent troubles. But I love Ubud so much, try to get up that way as often as my schedule allows me :)

@@RetireandGo will do! I’m coming with a group which will be fun and so we’re going to do a bit of everything. Surfing, cooking, getting away into more of the local parts of town (which I personally love). We’ll be there 2 weeks and then we start splitting off back home, or to other parts of the world, etc.

Agree with you an A.I.. About 5 years ago, I saw the progression of A.I.. realized how it could be implintment within the medical field. Developed a model of how it could be implemented. Even took a temporary position at Stanford Hospital with the idea of seeing if I could find anybody who might be interested, or someone I could share my ideas with. Being one of the world premier facilities of medical research, I thought it might be worth a shot. Was gobsmacked at the negative reactions I received. Many thought it was an absolutely terrible idea, Medical errors, taking control of direction of care. violations of individual rights, etc. Pretty much gave up pursuing my idea.
Now, the public understands a bit better. Maybe more receptive. For myself, I'm done. Retired for good. I know it’s going to happen, and would've liked to be involved in developing. But, I have more important things happening in my life. Retirement and travel.
BTW, In Kuching Maylasia right now. Great place, great people, incredible food. Should give it a try

A Maitai for $11 in Bali, is it a typical price or was it like a triple or something? (rhethorical, I don't drink, lol, I was just sensitive to its comparative value) Great points on succeeding and thriving in life. Some complementary or redendant points (in the sense that you have already mentioned in your awesome video) that could help someone succeed include (sorry for the run-on) setting clear goals for yourself, continuing learning, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, fostering positive relationships, embracing change (or adapting), learning from past failures/mistakes/errors and practicing resilience (never give up on your beautiful dreams), budgeting, saving, investing, developing the self through self-reflection and celebrating our achievements or our milestones we have set, having a work-life balance (which I am still working on I must admit, lol), having hobbies or pursuing interests or activities that are enjoyable and fulfilling, and like you said giving back and mentoring and sharing your knowledge with others. Creating a holistic approach to achieving success and thriving in various areas of life can be a greater value than focusing on only one aspect. You are a great example of what success is. Admirable! Bali is defintely a place to be... it's now on my list. Cheers!

Interesting, sounds like a lot of people are going to have to up their game, to keep a job, i can see the problem's on the horizen, thankfully i'm probably too old to worry about it, although i feel for our children & the future, there maybe massive unemployment too. Thank God robot's can't do everything, or can they? Dear God help us all. BTW looked stunning in Bali and the food looked delicious. 👍

I am curious to hear your nuanced response regarding the impact of AI on our work. You retired earlier due to AI, yet AI will make our lives easier.
While some jobs will disappear, new highly qualified positions will emerge. People will still be needed for work, but it will change, and individuals may need to retrain.
I feel this aspect is missing from your video...

It's funny that movies like Terminator & Matrix all predicted eventual coming of Ai...AI may not have connections & human cognition at this time but eventually it will...and that's when we will really have to worry..if AI decides that humans are no longer needed, it may be too late to stop them at that time...so, it's not just jobs we have to worry about.
