Same here. I watch the last 5 min just to get weather for the day then onto RUclips for Thailand and Travel videos to know why I am working 5 days a week still...and it is to retire in less than 5 years :)
I retired early at 47 as all went well in my investment world. I have NEVER been bored as we travel, have adventures and enjoy a coffee and You Tube of course! Travel is the key to have a pleasing lifestyle. Slow travel for us...a few months here and then a month or two there. Travel and learn. Rinse and repeat.
In the US, they want you to pay into Social Security and never take any out. To work until you die in your cubicle or factory. No thanks. I paid in for 40+ years, so I'm taking out now and living life while my body is healthy enough to get around. I can't think of anything worse than never getting any retirement time. Mine just started. The 1st 5 years of retirement will be healthier than the next 5 and the next 5 etc. So NOW is the time to live!

Towards the end of the video you stated that you want to continue traveling in your 50s but at some point you might want to settle down somewhere. As a video topic for a future video, can you discuss the top 5/10 potential cities that you have already traveled to that you might want to settle down in and retire at or use as a base camp to travel from? I always appreciate your insight and perspective, thanks as always.
Great video subject. I retired to Thailand and moved back to the U.S. when Covid broke out. While I lived Thailand, I found myself sleeping during the hot middle part of days and felt very bored. Well, now in my new home in the states, same thing is happening. So it’s not Thailand. When I come back(waiting for my dog to pass) I will follow your lead and budget $1000/month for travel!!! That should keep things interesting!!
Your style of choosing to travel to different countries solo every month is fine, I’ve done that for many years. I’am older than you and there are drawbacks to it. You don’t build relationships, you loose a sense of grounding. For example I’ve joined a running group, badminton group and a regular meet up with other expats my age. Obviously that’s my personal life experience. I still travel and it’s great, but having a base has so many benefits too!
I am truly excited to watch your videos every time. The three main pieces of advice are very useful, and your videos are always inspiring. Watching your videos always brings me peace and relieves stress. They give me a positive mindset and a goal or purpose to strive for. I can't wait for your next video. Take care and enjoy your slow travel.
Thanks for sharing your tips. There's just too much to do and too much to see in this big, beautiful world of ours to get bored in retirement. I'm glad you pointed out how challenging yourself intellectually is a great way to stave off Alzheimer's Disease. Learning something new, studying a new language, learning how to play an instrument, etc. are all good ways to keep your brain stimulated and challenged. Your brain needs that throughout your life. Cheers!

Awesome tips! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, opinions, and suggestions! You are awesome! I ordered Jordan Peterson's "12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos" this morning, and can't wait to read it. The $TQQQ call options did great today buying the dips which allowed me to grow my account by 25%. The only regret, if I may, is that I didn't go in heavier. But slow and steady wins the race as they say. I can't wait to get back on it next week. It's most likely going to be pumping until the elections, on purpose... Forget the logic at this point imo. I jumped in on the wagon and didn't regret it a single bit. It gets me closer to my goals to SE Asia! Let's goooooo! Stay safe! Stay Free! Cheers!
@RetireandGo , I think you are way smarter than me in investing. It turns out the AI play I made with call options didn't deliver for me, and I think you actually called it in your previous videos or in our previous chats that AI stocks were too expanded lately. Also, my puts on banks that were heavy in commercial real estate didn't pay out much, either. However, the dynamics of the market are such that the flow of money is going toward commodities (gold/silver), big tech, cryptos, and major indices right now, which are obviously skyrocketing. It seems like all the central banks are printing more and more, buying more of the debt, and creating more and more debt, which is growing at an incredible speed, I might add. And it is not just in the US; this seems to be a global phenomenon! Anyways, buying the dip pays out so far as the s&p and nasdaq reached an all-time high again as we closed this week. But the question is "until how long?" Either way, it could be in a while imo, before a meltdown happens. I'll continue the same strategy until something new happens. Let's see what happens, my friend. Cheers!
@@AV4U2 I recently made sure I have 10 percent of my portfolio in cash so I’m ready for a AI pull back But will it happen ? The revenue might be insane
@RetireandGo big tech using AI, such as Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Nvidia, etc. to me, are good bets! As far as the eventual pullbacks, there are always technical corrections happening once in a while. These corrections could bounce at a 9 MA on a daily or a 20, 50, 100 even 200 MA or a previous major level of potential support like a pervious major swing high, for example, you could even wait for a key fibonacci retraction level, etc... but that's technical analysis. Fundamentally, it doesn't really matter if you're just holding for the long-term imo, any of them would be good given that we're still in a bull market. In case of a market meltdown though, it would be wise to hedge your portfolio or set stop losses in order to reassess and come back in at a better price if you see signs of going back up again. There's always the famous Elliott wave, too, for technical pattern cues that could be used in conjunction with fundamental changes. I'm not an investor, though. I don't hold anything long-term usually. I'm usually looking for very short-term trades. Eventually, I'll build a long-term portfolio, but for now, I'm just trying to build my accounts. I'm an aggressive trader and blew a few accounts in the past as I've been messing with highly leveraged trades and having a high-risk tolerance. 😅 Not wise for newbies like me, I must admit. Needless to say, I've been through a lot of learning moments, but I'm honing in on the strategies that eventually will work best for me in the long run. I've even developed a bunch of trading bots that looked good during backtests, but when the market behaves differently, they always would need some readjusting. Long story short, I'm a work in progress with very limited working capital. It's a journey, for sure! And I wish you the best on your journey, my friend! We're all constantly learning and hopefully improving our game. Stay safe, stay free! Cheers (I forgot to add this disclaimer: no financial advice)
So do you have friends that you can meet up with for cocktails or whatever? How about lady friends? Hope I’m not asking too much of personal questions.
Regarding no. 3, unfortunately too many "human interactions" end up drawing me into politics. I know you avoid that, but I'm less skilled at avoiding it.

Stay safe! Stay Free! Cheers!
I have heard that book is fantastic
You know call options, you are a smarter investor than me :-)
@RetireandGo , I think you are way smarter than me in investing. Cheers!
@@AV4U2 I recently made sure I have 10 percent of my portfolio in cash so I’m ready for a AI pull back
But will it happen ?
@@AV4U2 thank you for this !
I appreciate this information
So do you have friends that you can meet up with for cocktails or whatever? How about lady friends? Hope I’m not asking too much of personal questions.
No lady friends
But yes for sure, you chat with expats and locals and have dinners :-)
Could you please tell me where Ubub to stay for 1 month?
You can fly into Bali and bus up to Ubud in one day cheap
Or stay a few days in Kuta beach area then go to Ubud :-)
IF YOU DONT USE IT, YOU LOOSE IT!!!!!
Yes! Haha
are you going to the famous coffee farm
I think I know the one you are talking about
Have you been ?
so you dont stay for the 90 days anywhere?
Usually not, I try to bring variety for this channel by changing locations
But there are longer visas available if you are looking for that :-)
Regarding no. 3, unfortunately too many "human interactions" end up drawing me into politics. I know you avoid that, but I'm less skilled at avoiding it.
Yes I totally understand
I find that as well
Even a casual conversation goes that way haha
Weather, sports, and politics. The 3 easiest small-talk conversations.
How old where you when you retired?
52. Still going strong haha !
The human summer driving interaction in las vegas is the middle finger😂🖕
We quit going to Las Vegas. Too much crazy and not enough relaxation.
Yes true
Traffic !
Everyone wants to go have some fun haha
Too hot
It’s a hot one for sure
But you will get adapted don’t stress
This will probably insult a lot of people-
But if you actually fear boredom in your retirement,
you probably are a boring person.
Oh man !
Haha
Well I say it’s good to have a hobby
Or start one
@@RetireandGo I wanted to ask you if you visited Azul Beach Club, Legian in one of your videos? That place is absolutely stunning...food etc.
@@LarsAndersen-ig9yt hmmm I need to get back there for sure
