That is correct, I did not show all the photos you had in your video, and I did not answer each point. Your video was unnecessarily a damm hour long, mine would have been two hours of boring ass inconsequential nonsense. I went to the best part , and invited people to watch your whole video. 1b. You showed pictures of the event without DJ Phase. So? For all we know he was standing right outside of frame. I don’t think he was, but those photos he is *NOT* in don’t mean anything. "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." That’s a principle you should learn. 1c. It’s ABSURD that you are complaining about me leaving out a photo when you left out the most important picture of DJ Phase undoubtably DJing. Why did you leave that photo out? That was not honest. 1d. It’s also ABSURD that you are complaining about some photos I left out when you DELETED the whole video 😂 It’s YOU who deleted the photos you are complaining I left out. I told people to go watch your video. 1e Maybe you will understand this. If I sourced a photo of that one jam you claimed to be brought to as a kid; If you are not in the photo, and no one remembers you being there, is that “proof” you were not there? 😂 2a. Assuming Johnny Juice and Charlie Hustle are being honest (and you relaying what they say honestly) they not remembering him doesn’t mean much either. Same principle. And as Juice said, they let other DJs on while they are running around taking care of the food drive. As a DJ myself, there is no way in hell I could remember every single DJ that went on before or after me, or even got on my equipment back in 2016 who remembers all that? @@ban_all_religion ‘God is Love Bobby Beck, Killroy, Jesus Saves, Ogre, the Shmoo, etc. It’s just my opinion but those earlier graffitiests are not part of what becomes the HipHop movement. If we include these other artist then we have to go all the way back to hand prints on cave walls. Taki, maybe Julio and CornBread did something slightly different which becomes part of HHC. It’s a mater of opinion of course. But yes there are serial graffiti at before CornBread.

@@WillieEstradaMB ok thank you for clarifying. Let me ask you a question instead. Assuming you don’t agree with what Flash said, do you think he is lying? Do you think he was paid, like people suggest? Or maybe there is just nothing wrong with what he said because if it’s true it’s not really a big deal because it’s pretty much what people have always said anyway. If Flash had said this in the early 80s would anyone have a problem with it?

@@AKiEM. I don’t think Flash was lying; I have too much respect for the man to call him a liar. I think he was reading from papers given to him that were taken out of context. You see him going through pages, and it doesn’t look or sound like it was something that came directly from him but something he was reading out loud as he scrolled through the pages. I think someone doctored or edited this clip to make it look like it was something he said, but then it cuts off before he finished reading the rest. I have known Flash since the 1970s because we lived in the same neighborhood. What he read doesn’t sound like something he would say as his personal views, but I’d have to hear it directly from him to be sure that is what he intended to say. I would be shocked if that were his personal views. I am still looking for proof of a Black Crew of Break Dancers, by name of crew name and everyone on the crew. If you have that information, I would greatly appreciate it. FYI, the term Break Dancers is a media term, not what these young cats doing floor moves, headspins, and backspins were calling themselves. I have never heard of an all-Black Breaking Crew. I know that these young dudes were Black and Brown, and they loved doing a dance that they all were instrumental in developing together. The common denominator was the Ghetto! I think this sort of thing only serves as an act of separatism, which is just another form of divide and conquer created by our oppressors to keep us all at odds with hatred intentionally. At 68, I don’t typically get involved with this sort of thing, and I am sure Doctor King would agree; nothing good can come from a place of hate. I grew up with brothers I still love to this day, and we are now dying off slowly, but when we see each other, the love and bonds between us are 100% REAL! In closing, I would still love to see evidence of the Black Breaking Crews people have been referring to, but nobody ever provides any proof. And the original interview is on Drink Champs for the full context. He was using notes through the video, my guess is that it was to try and not leave people out he wanted to mention. He made some mistakes and did not use all his notes. But if he was ‘told’ to say something that he does not think is true, I would say that is lying. I have always found Flash to be honest (with some things he should have cleared up) and it seems like it would take A HUGE amount of money and pressure on him to say something not true. But if you think he was told what to say, I would like to know who it was. You know him, when you talk to him, maybe call him - ask him about it. Let me know what he says. I would love to interview him someday if I ever get to that level. Please let me know what he says about why he said something not true. There is an openly racist anti-Black troll who goes around the internet asking that same question about ‘all Black crews’. He claims no one ever answers this question even though I’ve answered it several times and seen people answer it. Hopefully you have not adopted that question from him. I let him know that if he keeps asking it here on my channel, I consider it spam and will delete it. However, the simple answer to that question is; Breaking (Burning, Go Off) does not start with crews. It starts with individual competitive dancers. Crews come later. Same as Graffiti, crews come later. It only makes sense that individuals were dancing these competitive styles before they created crews. How would crews come first. These dances come from the Black Community before whoever else got involved. ‘Break Dancer’ may have been a media creation but the term ‘Break’ goes way back in Black American culture. It’s connected to dance and also separate from dance which means to ‘cut loose’ ‘go off’ ‘leave off’ ‘let go’ ‘give it up’ and also ‘disrespect’ ‘insult’ AAVE. I respect you as an elder and your work. We can disagree cordially. IMO, even if there are people exploiting divisions, that doesn’t mean we should bend historical facts and truth to try and make people feel better or included. Puerto Ricans joining in with an ongoing Black Cultural movement is not anything to be upset about. The first ‘myth’ I started to take not of was Flash inventing the cross-fader. Not true. Secondly, the Jamaican origin of HipHop Culture, its myth. Now, remember back to the Get Down, I thought it was weird Hercs crew were shown rocking dreads. And there being other tries at pretending there was this Jamaican influence. This is where the type of division starts from, myth and narratives. And so I have a question. Someone said that we can look at the Get Down, see the number of PRs in the crowd and trust the consultants were trying to accurately portray the number of PRs in the scenes. Like ‘wait a second, there are too many Black extras in the shot, we need to bring in more PRs to make it accurate’ 😂 Did anything like that happen? I appreciate your time brother. And just so we understand, I would bet most of the Black folks who are arguing that HipHop comes out of Black American Culture do not hate Jamaicans or Puerto Ricans. We are friends and family how ever heated it gets. But we have been dealing with a sustained attack on Black Culture in this country since before the end of slavery. There has continually been a claim that we are not responsible for the greatness of our own culture. We see this as a continued attack from the powers that be to deny Black American cultural continuity and history. Peace.

@@garciaizm I think it’s ‘possible’ some parts of the Philly movement inspired NYC directly or through the media (more than just TopCat) I think it’s probably there were a good number of writers around the country who started independently who eventually folded into the larger movement. I also think the paint and marker technology played a larger roll than most people consider. I agree NYC transit was important for NYC, and the Philly transit system was less important in Philly (but still important) but I can’t agree that the subway is what makes Graff HipHop. I don’t think you can just cut out all the Philly artists who were bombing and developing hand styles without too much concern for piecing till later. All that Philly work folds into the culture.

I agree it’s possible too maybe even likely that philly writers were able to bring their structure to their contemporaries in NYC since they are relatively close to each other but again it was a larger movement than one individual. It’s my understanding that there was gang graffiti in NYC at least by the 50’s if not earlier and by the late 60’s many writers who were adding numbers to their names to add a more individual identity. It’s my opinion that this movement would have still ended up on the subway trains regardless of a Philadelphia presence. It was on the trains that the tags became throw ups and hollow letters and eventually to pieces. When writing finally made it to the trains it didn’t return to the walls of the city until the MTA started locking down the cars to the point where walls became the best option… I’ve got nothing but respect for philly graffiti and the style/flows that were created in their section

@@AKiEM. I saw a faded Cornbread at a train station in the Bronx in 1976. In Boston it was all along wnat was the old Orange line in 1971 on a family trip. The ones I saw in Chicago was 1974 in a parking garage at Lake and Wells in 1974. I moved to NY in 1976 and in Freeport NY both Tity and Cornbread had tagged Main Street pretty good,some of those tags were there for years!
