WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOTORCYCLE BRAND ?
Thanks for this video. It is a good concept and I hope that more motorists adopt a rider.
Yes I was pleased to come across the idea 😎
This is a nice idea. We have lane filtering here in my home state. When I see a motorcyclist coming through, I try to move over to give them more space. It is my way of saying I can see you. I generally get a quick wave from them as they come past.
There should be more of it mate 😎
What wonderful scenery.
Was indeed 😎
Wonderful topic.
Thank you ☺️
👍👊✌
Thank you for dropping by 😎
Hey Mr T. It is an interesting concept. I think it is a pitty that most people just don't give a Flog about the safety of others. What a surprise to see my oogaly head in yr promotion. Thanks for that Mate. Cheers Benno.
Hello mate, only if everyone had the same mind set, the world would be a much nicer and safer place. You have a great channel mate, very happy to promote it. 😎
This is great to hear. It gives us hope for us riders in this cruel world. Nice video bro. Enjoyed.
Thank you mate 😎
Good idea 👍 Windy Point ?
Yes will certainly make me more aware when on the road. Yes Windy point, very cold 🥶
What a wonderful idea!
Yes indeed. Was very pleased when I came across it. 😎
Not a bad idea TRP especialy in the rain.
Yes thought it was worth a mention on the channel when I saw it. 😎
Interesting idea...it could work..
Thanks Mate, I will be even more aware now. 😎
Good stuff Tim, I reckon I've done it (inadvertently adopted rider's) before we gave it this title. Some though probably aren't adoptable unfortunately and it's like watching an accident waiting to happen, and nothing short of having a proper word is going to save them from themselves. The standards are scary. I'm sure you've watched rider's and can tell within a few seconds how experienced they are or aren't. Keep warm and safe mate 🙂
Thanks Mate, yes I think I may have done it without thinking over the years. Now I can give it a name. 😎
I never thought about that practice...will give it ago if the opportunity comes up. Cheers bro.
We I will be on the look out now for riders who may need me to protect them so to speak. 😎
In the UK Highway code there's stuff about protecting people who are more at risk that you. It's a shame it's rarely done though. Good on her.
If I look back on my riding career, I can see that some drivers have been looking out for me, I think it happens more than I realise it. 😎
I've experienced rider adoption but from the front not the rear, the driver truly acting like a guardian angel. I was riding a narrow single track road through a Scottish glen on my brute of a Kawasaki ZZR1400/ZX14 when I passed a Mercedes parked in a passing place. The narrow road winds uphill then down with two nasty steep hairpin switchbacks one uphill one downhill. I stopped on the crest to take photos of the stunning scenery when the Mercedes passed me, I followed and ended up quite close behind it. Ahead I could see it stopped completely blocking the road and at first thought " what on earth are they doing?" As I got closer I saw the Mercedes driver chatting to the driver of a car in a passing place, which I had been unable to see before that. Obviously a warning was given that I was behind him and the driver waited at the side of the road untill I passed. As we both followed the road as it snaked downhill through trees another car approached in the opposite direction. The Mercedes driver slowed but kept driving forwards forcing the oncoming car to reverse into a passing place, clearing the road for me. Further downhill at the steep switchback again they stopped blocking the road, unseen by me was an Audi coming the opposite way. The Mercedes driver reversed slightly back forcing me to hold back, then pulled forwards into a gateway once I was tucked into the widest part of the turn and the Audi driver could see me. Had it not been for the Mercedes driver's actions I would have been forced to stop on steep inlines with a very heavy bike and nowhere to get past or out of harms way 🙏😇
Wow what a story, there really are some nice people put there. Thank you for sharing Mate. 😎
Well first off I have to say what an excellent thought that was to help protect a rider on the road in poor weather conditions. My next thought was that it would be only most useful with an inexperienced or learner rider. Now hold that thought for a moment. I do think that most of us that ride look out for other bikes on the road when driving, I know I do, whether in a car or the truck, I even have videos showing just that! Remember that thought, well I got to thinking that as an experienced motorcyclist that I do not need a guardian angel looking out for me, then I remembered an incident from two years back. In bad weather I was riding from the east coast back home, about 3.5 hours ride. Anyway I had passed a truck and leaving a safe distance was starting to move back over to the next lane, I think there was 3 lanes each way there, the truck I'd just passed was blowing his air horns, I had no idea why but looking to see what he was doing I caught a glimpse of a car undertaking the truck and me doing 80-90mph. He raced by and I gave a thankful wave to the truck driver because if I'd moved over to the next lane I could have been wiped out. So I guess he was my guardian angel that day. Hopefully this might just make some drivers think of riders in these circumstances and just look out for them. Ride safe and Happy as always mate.🏍👍😁😁
I have heard a couple of similar stories, if I look back on my riding I could probably come up with similar stories. I think we all may have had guardian angles and may not have been aware. 😎
Great example mate, that truck driver was on the ball, now I might get shot down in flames by my next comment, but the standard of truck driver's here (Oz), compared to the UK is very poor, there has been however an influx of driver's that come from different countries, and yes that may also be the case back in the old country now too. I remember twenty or thirty year's ago and the skills of truck driver's were revered, they could be trusted. Here, I see appalling behaviour, phones, drugs and alcohol (common problem), outside lane hogging, regular crashing, ignoring arrester beds when their brakes are gone (yes really). Trucks with serious defects. No pride. Some of what I've experienced is down to the fact that Australia allows driver's to drive here after only passing a test in their own country, where standards are a lot poorer, up skilling is required.
I think that's a grand idea! I absolutely love what this lady did for that rider. 🙌❤️
Yes, I really had never thought about this, Thank you for your input as always Mate. 😎
Oh yes I've heard of this before, been dong that way before I heard it, getting none riders who don't ride to do this and understand the importance will be tuff...But worth trying for sure, I'm always grateful to have somebody following who I know is doing that, I give them a gestor such as a wave or thumbs up of appreciation when I can
Well done Mate, yes more co-operation on the road is a great thing, there should be more of it. 😎
sounds interesting
Yes, I have never thought about this, was a topic that really caught my attention. 😎
👍👍👍👍
thank you

Great idea.A sticker Adopt a Rider on your car 🚗 be a good way to promote the idea 💡 as others will see.
Thank you Mate, what a great suggestion.
Great idea that. 👍
@@cloudmaker I may look at making a sticker 😎
That is pretty cool 👍
Thant you 😎
I feel that many riders when they are driving a car think the same way when a rider is near by I know I do. But this is a good point to highlight to us all. Well done buddy good video.
Thank you for your input mate, not sure why I have not thought about this earlier. I hope it warms up soon, I have just returned from Europe, just fantastic weather at the moment. 😎
Well I'm glad you also think the same way when driving, I've just left a similar notion.
@@cloudmaker I would think many riders do behind the wheel of a car and cool 🙂
riding back from a hospital app last year i calt up to a p plater motocycle rider witch i could see people passing way to close to and right up his ass ,really pissed me of 🤬 so i road behind him for about 80ks till i had to turn off to go to my house . made sure that no one would pass and cut him off or tail gate . this law restricting L and P plate riders to 80kph is just wrong in sooo many ways and puts new riders in a dangerous spot .🤬🤬 keep well mate and stay safe-ish 😉🍺
Thank you for your input mate, really good points. Although I understand why they restrict the new riders I agree that in some circumstances it can be dangerous for them. Take care. 😎
Hey Jeff I agree with your thought that restricted speed puts new riders in a dangerous situation. Over here (UK) riders on mopeds are restricted to 30mph about 50kmh, obviously a rule made by a committee of non riders, otherwise they'd know how dangerous that is on the open road. Ride safe and happy.
@@cloudmaker yeah i hate how laws are made by people that have no idear 🤬 keep well mate 😎🍺
@@jefftaswelder9154 👍
Interesting idea. Although I can see it becoming strange being followed by a car I don't know.
Excellent point 😎
Very cool concept from a none rider.
Yes thought it was a unique and great idea. 😎
A great idea, I have done similar in a heavy rain storm protecting a riders 20. A great conversation starter 😎👌
I must admit I have never thought about it, I will be on the look out now. 😎
In my car I give a respectful distance if a motorcycle is in front. However on my bike I don't really like being followed, just because I feel I need to keep an eye on them in the mirror.
Good point, it would be strange being followed by someone I don't know. 😎
They won't follow for long especially when filtering!
That’s a good idea.we all have to coexist in this world.look out for one another.
Well put Mate 😎
Good idea, but there's more chance of the buggers knocking em off round here🤣🤣
Never thought about that. 😎
you put together a real nice video here.
Thank you mate 😎

Thank you for watching, the trip was wonderful 😎
Yup, every 10 yrs or so "BAN THE BIKE" rhetoric comes up. Some radio jock is just trying to boost ratings with this old sensationalist hoohar, a typical mainstream media ploy. Seems to me that major contributors to the road toll are a serious lack of situation awareness, over confidence, the inappropriate use of the mobile phone while in control of a vehicle and the idea that she'll be right mate, it won't happen to me. Education is key but many don't give a F$%k. Cheers Mr T
Well put mate, spot on. Some on the riders and drivers out there astound me. It really is the operator of the vehicle. I totally agree that education is the key but so many really don' t appear to care as you mentioned and don't think it will happen to them. Thank you for watching.
Looked like a fun break... bit hot in all that bike clobber wandering around though I bet?
Certainly was warm, about 32 degrees. After having a couple of offs, I always wear my gear these days. Not too bad when I am moving. Was a wonderful weekend 😎
