I had a couple of in line 4 cylinder bikes. Both were Honda CB750s from the early 1970s. Both were smooth and powerful bikes. Even though my last four bikes have been V-twins I have been thinking of the next bike being either 4 or 6 cylinders for that smoothness and power.
Another great job! I've had many incoming 4s but I fell in love with v-twins and I've gotten hooked on the low end torque. They're all fun when you get right down to it. Eric
I own two in line fours, a customised 2010 Yamaha FZ1-S and the last of its breed sold in Europe a Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport. I don't think anyone can accuse the FZ1-S with its slightly detuned R1 engine as being boring. Especially as mine is fully customised with a blue and silver snake skin effect paint job, with matching custom seat, a Power commander V, Nitro shock, steering damper and engine cowl. The icing on the cake being a matching blued Quill exhaust, which makes it sound as good as it looks. The Kawasaki is equally alluring in its gold speckled green and black and just as good to the ears with twin Akrapovic's. Sure both are as Smooth as Butter but when that smoothness rockets you into the next dimension at warp speed. Roaring like a lion on heat, that's when you appreciate smoothness, it's not lack of character, it's a bastion of refinement 😀
So sorry Mate , your comments were put in the spam section. Your bikes sound awesome. I love your last comment it's a bastion of refinement 😀 Take care and thank you for dropping by.
Well I have both. When I got my ducati I loved the twin so much I thought I’d never get a in-line 4 again. I bought a new gsxr600 a few years ago and love it. The sound on that little 600 is also amazing and it has torque too. It’s a blast to ride.
Now this topic of in line 4's as boring, well I would struggle to call any bike boring as I just love riding. Now you've brought it up, have you ever noticed in bike reviews you will come across this sort of quote " Well I just found it a bit boring" and other little nuggets like it. When I read that I think they have simply not been inspired to write positively about their experience on the bike not that the bike is boring in itself. Although I don't have an in line 4 bike I've always got an eye out for the right one for me, personally I have 3 very different V twins and each with their own character. My regular ride is an NT700 from 2013 which I was out on for almost 12 hours last Saturday during which I stopped off at several biker cafés, now a lot of other bikers might look at my bike as boring to them but it's quick enough, quiet enough and comfortable to ride all day and not once did I think anytime during those 12 hours that any part of my ride was boring. So to sum up it's not the bike that is boring but the rider that is bored. Ride safe as always and apologies for the waffling.
All motorbikes are fun. Over 40+ years I've tried most. For pure character difficult to beat a big two stroke. For more practical character then Triples are great. Wife has a Triumph 675 and I've got the Yam triple XSR 900. Your engine is an absolute legend of a motor and the cross plane crank 1000 in my MT10 for me is the most unusual sounding torque laden engine I've ever owned. Only downside is it's super thirsty!
I really do wish I could have multiple bikes. I must say I really love the power the inline 4 has to offer. The triumph 675 is a sweet machine. Thank you for watching and commenting Mate .
Love the Triumph 675 and the mt 10. Both awesome bikes. To be honest if it has two wheels and an engine you can’t really go wrong. Thank you for dropping by 👍
Sir, Nice Content. It is not BORING. I LOVE my 2020 Suzuki gsx-s1000! Great Engine, Good Handling, very Reliable, Love the TORQUE! Terrific Sound of the Exhaust of Suzuki's InLine Four!👍
Thanks mate, there is always a first time, you may love it. As long as there are two wheels and an engine, you can’t really go wrong. Thanks for dropping by 😎
I’m currently wanting an inline 4! Boring hell no! I have a parallel twin and it’s a little bit too small for me. It’s perfect for someone about 160 pounds but I’m 195. That’s a great bike. I love the vtwin too but I love all bikes! In-line 4s are awesome but only if you really need the power. Great video buddy 👊💯
My Bandit had tons of character & a nice progressive smooth throttle. I think my Fazer is a bit boring. Very smooth but it lacks character. I guess it depends on the bike
I have just seen your video on the Fazer I want to sit down and watch it. You are right, it really does depend on the bike. Great point mate, thank you for dropping by😎
I think all engines have character... you just have to use the engine in the way it's design is intended, like you say... you need to rev an inline 4, and when you do it'll howl like a banshee.... the trouble is on 1000cc inline 4's is that to rev them, you are gonna be going silly speeds... whereas with a Moto Guzzi for example, you can get the most of the engine generally at more legal speeds. I love my GSXR750, but it is a bit too fast for the road to enjoy properly.
Excellent point mate, I often look at your moto guzzi with such fondness. As you say you can get the most out of the engine legally. The GSX, the only way I will get the most out of that engine is on the track. Thanks you for your input mate 👍
Not all inline-fours are created equal. But I am definitely one of those people, who prefer smooth engine. It gives me pleasure to control the throttle of smooth bike.
In my opinion no motorcycle is boring, but I understand what you mean about character of the engine figuration and yes V twin are wonderful. Having said that every bike has character in its own way and I think you learn to make the most of every bike. What is boring is not being able to ride a bike anymore!!!!!! Ride safe 👍
Always good content in your vlogs Mr TPR . My only transportation is a little v-twin 650 and I find it it very good at lane splitting due to its naked frame and slimline motor. Hence I would find an inline four particularly boring.
Excellent Mate, I have ridden a SV 650 v twin and loved it, fabulous sound, amazing low down torque and as you have said very easy to ride. I even put down a deposit on one, however found the seat very hard. If I could I would have a SV 650 in my shed with a more comfy seat along side the GSX S 1000. Thank you for your kind words, your input and taking the time to watch, I really do appreciate it.
hello. I like in-line 4-cylinder engines. An engine that rotates smoothly up to high rpm with little vibration. Unique and beautiful sound. My Honda motorcycle automatically switches between 2-cylinder and 4-cylinder by the HYPER VTEC function. : D Safety and health. Thank you my friend.
I've had 7 inline 4s on the bounce (plus a few singles & twins at the same time) so like them, but love the sound of a triple, not owned or ever will now, don't find any bike boring.
I suppose you can make any bike fun if you ride it hard enough.🤣 I've had the IL4, v twins, now I'm partial to the bmw boxer of my RT. Can't find another bike that suits me as well as this one does. On a side note, how u getting on with that new drone?
Thanks for bringing the drone up I need to practice with the drone, just lack a lot of confidence. You are right almost any bike can be fun rides hard enough. Thank you for dropping by 👍
I love the shock it really is wonderfully comfortable. On my bike there is plenty of room to unlock the preload Allen key nut while it installed. Not sure it would be the same for all bikes though.
It's not the motor in a motorcycle that makes it boring. It's the riders attitude towards the machine that can it boring for some. For example if you step off a high output engine onto something less powerful then your minds ability is going to boring, but if you really love riding motorcycles nothing is boring. Except for those electric bikes aye 😅😁

Keep going for whatever u love to do friend

Certainly not boring and they have there own certain character. I personally love them because of characteristics that you mentioned.
Totally agree, I just love them. That GSX 1400 of yours is a great example of an awesome inline 4.

I had quite a few inline 4’s. Always loved them. Now I am partial to the V-Twins now but I never found the inline 4’s boring.
I am loving the inline 4 at the moment, but all bikes have their fine point, just wish I could have multiple bikes in the shed.
