    In case anyone is watching this and wanting more input. So , just got back from my check-up post surgery. All went well during surgery (had everything removed) and I am healing on-time. One note, in my case they decided to do a pelvic exam this time (I thought they'd wait until week 6) and they ended up using a bit of silver nitrate to seal one small area near the cuff. I am sharing so you can be prepared! It was painful. So, if. you THINK you will need an internal exam and any amt of silver nitrate I highly suggest taking tylenol/advil or even like 1/2 a pain med to get you through it. It wasn't horrible but it also wasnt' FUN. If you have a lower pain tolerance I suggest this even more...JUST one experience...that I haven't seen discussed too much on YT..

    Thank you so much for sharing your experience. This is my 4th weeks of post-op and moving around, sometimes washing dishes, doing my laundry and sweeping. After 3 weeks I started driving just to get groceries. Yes I agree, the more things we do the more pain we have. So is best to take things slowly, listen to our bodies, and have more rest when need to.

    Thank you for sharing and speaking on behalf of so many women who have gone through such a long and painful journey. On march 8th 2023 at 7:30 a.m I had a hysterectomy. It’s been 4 weeks now in my recovery and I’ve experienced everything you shared. I’ve seen many videos Although they’ve been helpful, I felt like I hadn’t found a blog that I could relate to. I have good days but more bad the pain is horrible. I look pregnant. At night I can’t sleep, my emotions are all over the place. I was blessed to have 3 kids, and 2 year old grandson who doesn’t understand why I can’t pick him up 😢 he looks at me and cries with his hands up and it breaks my heart. I’ve had a lot of help and I’m grateful, but yet feel alone. Not only do we have to deal with all of the emotions prior to surgery but also with what comes after.

    I have an ultrasound this Friday to see if I have rectocele /hernia/pelvic floor prolapse. I’m 53, severe ra (54)and OA and I’ve had a total hysterectomy. From what I’ve researched it’s rectocele and I’m TERRIFIED! My soon to be ex husband is a stage 5 CKD and has rectal cancer again and I’m in the process of finding another place. Long story! Sometimes women just get used and abused too long! I have no idea what I’ll do if I’m down from surgery and my family is 3hrs away. Please say a prayer it’s just something simple. There’s no way I can go now because I cannot lift heavy things, I’m weak from no appetite/not eating, and I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m so happy that you’re doing well! You look amazing! Thank you for these videos!

      @@melcoffgarcia5489 Hi thank you for your reply honestly I’m terrified I was told last fall I had a rectocele I was wth is that? I used to work in the field but I never heard of that! It was explained I might add I have a top surgeon who is a specialist in Gyn/ Urologist so he’s conservative wanted me to try pelvic floor exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor ok so what I went through just to find someone that specializes in pelvic floor PT is hard in my area there isn’t a lot who do this so I found a girl with her doctorate in this area she is excellent! My point is I’ve gone through 12 sessions applying them everyday 3 times a day and once the Jeannie is out of the bottle you can’t put it back in my case I might add I’ve always been physically fit eat well I’m small framed and still this happens what I’m asking my fear is post op are you able to move your bowels and how painful 😣 is it? Be honest please 🙏🏻

      @melcoffgarcia5489 Год назад

      @carla marquette I had a very hard first delivery which required an episiotomy so that is where I think I got my rectocele problem. I am going to be honest I had to have everything done to my pelvic floor and being 12 days post op I am down to a little pain from the rectocele only. It is just pressure and kinda just feels swollen. My bowels have always been bad so yes I am still having some issues with that but my doctor has me on 2 stool softners in the am and pm. 2 laxatives at night to avoid any constipation. I also am eating a very high fiber diet. This seems to work I will say I have a bowel movement every other day and it's soft and still a little painful but not as bad as I thought. The key is avoiding constipation limit cheese or foods that stop you up. I did have a complication with my bladder it was a uti. They treated it and I feel better. Urogynocologist is the best choice for these issues. Let me know if you have any other questions oh and my dr said rectocele pain may last for a couple months but not forever just remember to keep constipation under control. Best wishes.

      @@melcoffgarcia5489 omg 😱 thank you for replying I realize everyone is different no two people will experience the same issues as far as pain but I was worried because I have a history of IBS but I’m on stool softener and Senokot and it works for me so that’s why I am afraid of post op pain when you have to have a bowel movement did you do pelvic floor pt before your surgery? I’ve been in pt and I’ve learned a lot but honestly I’m mad 😡 this should be introduced to you way before child bearing years so you are aware do you know I can’t find anyone that has heard of a rectocele ?? I worked in the health care field so it’s spooky and I’m waiting my surgery. Thank you so much for responding ❤️Hope your better 🙏🏻

    • @melcoffgarcia5489
      @melcoffgarcia5489 Год назад

      @carla marquette I have done the therapy but it was like a probe they put in me and I did like kegel exercises. My issues only got worse so I just decided to do the whole surgery and that was after years of fear. I have been dealing with these issue since I was 29. I guess I just got to a point that the anxiety tapered off with medication of course (lexapro) and decided to go ahead with it. I definitely agree that this is not talked about enough. I just can't believe how many women secretly suffer with these pelvic floor issues. My urogynocologist is going to get me in with a pelvic floor physical therapist soon but if only they would educate women on pelvic floor health sooner. Not only that but heavy lifting is really a bad thing for women too because over time it can cause prolapses. I see so many young girls in cross fit and I cringe because I feel like it may have an impact on them later. I have always been in shape and I hit the gym with weight training and the bulges at the end of the day were awful. After talking to the dr (urogyn) they said limit your lifting it's not good for women. Of course excercise is good but with moderation especially weights.

    Day 3 post laproscopic surgery here. My biggest tips are don't lie down - sit or recline instead (to prevent shoulder pain), use 16hr heat patches on the shoulders, use different types of laxatives around the clock (osmotic/Miralax, stool softener/Dulcolax, stimulant/Senna) because they work in different ways. Eat light, nothing that causes gas like soda, straws, beans, dairy (in my case). Oh and get a stool for the potty. I swear you won't need to strain. Drink lots of water and WALK AROUND, as much as you can tolerate. Movement wakes up your bowels, prevents blood clots, and gets that trapped gas out. The only way out of the pain is through it. Day 3 and I've already stopped taking pain meds. You can do it !!

      @@Vimala_34 I finally stopped bleeding but I had to have another invasive procedure done. It turned out that my doctor did a very poor job at cleaning out the endometrial tissue when he performed my hysterectomy. I had an MRI and CT scan done that were ordered by my urologist for ongoing pain because had a ureter stricture. Another issue caused by my endo. Anyway I asked my gyno to look at the images because my urologist said there was an abnormal mass where my uterus was and it shouldn't be there. I had to demand he go back in and fix whatever was going on and he refused. He told me he could only perform a basic hysterectomy. He ended up referring me to a friend of his who saved my life. He was the best doctor I ever met. He told me there was such a mess inside me still and that my other doctor hadn't even properly sewn my last ovary up where it should've been. He said my intestines were squashing it and that would explain the constant pain I was still feeling. My previous gyno didn't do a good job at all and had I gone to this last doctor first...he probably could've saved my uterus.....🥺 What's your situation if you don't mind me asking??

I was having cramps and muscle spasms when I walked. The symptoms are milder now. Urinating and bowel movements are not as bad. I assume that this bad inflammatory response stemmed from 21 years of endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, uterine polyps, endometriomas and a twisted ovary. This was helpful! You made me cry and then laugh. I get your frustrations and know chronic pain is soooo challenging! I hope your pain is completely resolved now!❤❤❤

    Loving your videos and honest expressions of your recovery process! I am week 4 post hysterectomy and it is so helpful to see that I am “not alone” in my slow feeling of healing! I see you posted this 6 years ago! Very cool that it is still helping people like me and I hope you are doing great now!
