  • I had a total hysterectomy laparoscopic (LAVH) with the Da Vinci Method on April 11th 2016. I had my uterus, both fallopian tubes, left ovary and cervix removed.
    I had this performed in hopes of easing my chronic pain condition PCS or Pelvic Congestion Syndrome.

    Thanks for sharing....I got my total hysterectomy last year july and I am 1 year and 1 month now I was doing fine but some complications after surgery I had hematoma and abdominal infection and I had regular checkups every month after my hysterectomy because I still had vaginal discharge ...sometimes old blood and sometimes fresh blood....5months after surgery I still had some soture did not dissolve....I had continued followed up check up until now my doctor said I still have small granules tissue ... ..I feel sometimes pain in my right side ...maybe because I sometimes over work my self I even carry heavy staff now...I still do put some binder on my tummy during my hardwork ...and it helps me a lot ...

    I am going for granulation treatment this morning. The tissue is all over all my sutures.. I had anterior, posterior repairs and a hysterectomy. I'm drifter... If I can't tolerate it because there is so much I am looking at another surgery to deal with it all

    Hi Blair, as per the above vlog, your last catching up was 7 months ago. Would it be possible for you to do a follow up video? I would love to know how you are doing.

      Elisa in Montreal sure thing! Sorry I'm just now seeing this message but I've been meaning to do a few more blogs centered around my hysterectomy journey. One will be a followup now that I'm over a year out from surgery.

    Blair, I wanted to hug you but, I can't so sending you HUGE CYBER HUGS and prayers that this is all over and you're healthy again. I'm having a Hysterectomy done in September of this year and am scared silly! But, I am hopeful that eventually, all of this will be all done and over with (I've had so much done to me already and 2 other surgeries on top of it all). By the way...is your surgeon easy to get ahold of or is yours like mine where you only get voicemail and have to wait, and wait and wait for a call back from just a secretary? That's a question that concerns me greatly and I've asked her but, she says, "that's the way my office is run". *SIGH*.

    I am 8 weeks post op feel good ! Bled for 6 weeks . My doctor said not to do anything for 8 weeks . I still sometimes feel tugging so I am waiting another month before exercising . My doctor said it takes 6 months to fully heal and a year to feel like your back to yourself.

      Prior to my surgery I heard that and was like man that sounds like such a long time. But now that I'm post surgery I can see how it can take a long time to heal.

      +Blair Dreessen I'm 11 weeks post op I think still healing and taking it easy. I say listen to your body its better then having another surgery!

      +Eva B I totally agree :) I'm thinking though of going in and getting a referral for a physical therapist. I think I might have some adhesions that are causing some pain. I hear that's very common too

    I was just wondering how long you were on pain meds? I'm 4 weeks out and still need my Percocet 2 times per day. My doctor only gives me 12 at a time and I'm just wondering if I'm normal?

    • @LoseitwithBlair
      @LoseitwithBlair  7 лет назад +1

      Vanessa Hegarty it took my probably a couple months to be fully off pain meds. At 4 weeks I was still taking about that much a day. Everyone heals differently. Some slower then others. Just listen to your body and do a pace that works best for you and your healing

    I see this was posted 6 years ago but hopefully you'll see this and respond. I'm having granulation tissue issues also. I'm 13 weeks post op....my doctor treated it with silver nitrate but....im still bleeding. How long did it take to fully stop bleeding for you after they treated yours?? I'm so tired and discouraged I just want to feel normal already 😭

      @@Vimala_34 I finally stopped bleeding but I had to have another invasive procedure done. It turned out that my doctor did a very poor job at cleaning out the endometrial tissue when he performed my hysterectomy. I had an MRI and CT scan done that were ordered by my urologist for ongoing pain because had a ureter stricture. Another issue caused by my endo. Anyway I asked my gyno to look at the images because my urologist said there was an abnormal mass where my uterus was and it shouldn't be there. I had to demand he go back in and fix whatever was going on and he refused. He told me he could only perform a basic hysterectomy. He ended up referring me to a friend of his who saved my life. He was the best doctor I ever met. He told me there was such a mess inside me still and that my other doctor hadn't even properly sewn my last ovary up where it should've been. He said my intestines were squashing it and that would explain the constant pain I was still feeling. My previous gyno didn't do a good job at all and had I gone to this last doctor first...he probably could've saved my uterus.....🥺 What's your situation if you don't mind me asking??

      It's normal to feel scared at times ..... I had many moments. Plus a lot of ups and downs through my recovery. And I'm still recovering. I'm doing better then the first few months. Are you apart of a support group? I know that helped me soooo much to have other women to talk to
