    Doctors don't tell you this information, and it is nice to know that this is all normal. I am approaching week 4 and feel like I am kind of left to fend for myself. So having someone else validate all that I am feeling is very nice. Thank you for your videos!

      I'm so happy you find my videos helpful/ validating! Yeah doctors don't really give a roadmap of what to expect after surgery which is part of why I wanted to document and share my experience. Everyone's recovery is a bit different but it's nice to have at least some idea of what to expect. Wishing you the best on your recovery journey 💜

      I'm happy you found this video! There were several points during my recovery where I felt like I was going backwards or not recovering "fast enough", but over time the progress I was making overall became more apparent. Wishing you the best during your recovery!

    It’s been 36 hours I feel like I’m going to die from constipation I’ve stopped taking pain meds I spent a week taking the stool softener I guess it didn’t work I have never been in so much pain in my life and I have birthed 3 children with no epidural in a 3rd world country this pain is something else honestly ladies I didn’t do enough research otherwise I would have been more mentally prepared I spent the whole second day unable to move i thought I was dying but today I’m better I’m still bedridden walking a little bit but still phew it’s hard to be a woman and yah I threw up during and after the surgery it was quite an event but thank God for my Doctor she was incredible

      Jeez yeah that sounds awful! Thanks for sharing what you're going through so someone else might be able to better mentally prepare for what might happen. All our bodies are so different and react differently so it's good to know all the possible things that might happen. I hope the constipation and pain get better quickly and that your recovery ultimately leads to lots of relief 💜

      @@mosimosi630 lol there's no such thing as tmi here 😆 while I didn't struggle too bad with constipation after surgery, I have struggled with it at other times and the best advice I've got is to hydrate (to loosen things up), not eat very much (since your body is already at capacity for space, adding more food adds to the pressure/ pain) and try sitting in child's pose, gently doing cat/ cow, or getting on your knees and resting your chest on a pillow if it's not painful (these moves sometimes help to move the stuff in your intestines around). Obviously these things aren't a magical cure and might not work but I figured I'd put it out there in case you're looking for things to try. Constipation pain ain't no joke especially when coupled with pain from a fresh surgery 😅

    Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Around the two week mark is when my hormones started to act up and i wasn't expecting that. Also, around the three week mark was when the exhaustion hit me. Another thing that I was not expecting. I had been feeling pretty good so when that hit I was taken aback. I'm so thankful that I found your video because it really helps to know that this is normal and to be patient with myself and my recovery. I think we expect everything to happen quickly and it just takes time for the body to heal from what was going on before surgery and the actual surgery itself.

    • @morrigansmagikalmakings
      @morrigansmagikalmakings  8 месяцев назад

      I'm so happy you found my video! Before I had surgery, a lot of stuff I read made it seem like 2 weeks was the normal recovery time which seemed quite unrealistic. Then I found people online that had longer recoveries which made me feel better when my recovery was a bit like a roller coaster. I remember the hormones and fatigue being so intense and surprising around the 2-3 week mark. A warning for that would have been really nice lol Wishing you all the best during your recovery 💜

    Goodmorning Morrigan. Am glad I saw your video...had dame thing: endometriosis and andemynosis...am 5 weeks post abdominal hysterectomy, am still sore, have stabbing pains still...I get exactly the way u were doing...doctor says I will heal in time.i even went to see him yesterday I told him am sore but he says next week I must go back to work, he says I will heal along the way

      I'm glad you found my video! The first several weeks are definitely rough and healing/ recovery was VERY SLOW for me. I couldn't imagine going back to work at 6 weeks. I think technically your surgery wounds would be healed enough but the pain and fatigue that I had would have made it really hard for me to work. Your body is going through big changes and can't be rushed. Hoping you improve a lot in the next week before getting back to work! (if you go back to work and are still having pain or stuff that makes it difficult to work, it might be worth talking to your doctor again to emphasize the pain and try to get more time to recover if possible) Wishing you the best as you continue on your recovery journey 💜

    This Tuesday will be my 2 week post op. I thought I was getting better and the gas symptoms weren’t as bad after the 5th day of being able to make a movement. The gas pains are back along with the back pains and having a hard time making a movement again with stool softener. I think due to the gas pains it’s hard for me to relax and allow release. This is the only thing that I want to get past.

    • @morrigansmagikalmakings
      @morrigansmagikalmakings  2 месяца назад +1

      That definitely sounds rough! I think a heating pad helped a lot with the gas pain for me as well as moving around to different positions, but unfortunately there isn't a one size fits all for relieving that pain. The gas pain will go away and things will get better, but in the meantime I suggest trying to watch some comfort tv or something that will distract your mind. Wishing you the best for your recovery 💜

    I know this is a year ago. I’m getting my hysterectomy soon and scared about it. I’ve been in pain every day and nauseous after I had my last baby. Heavy periods etc. But wanted to ask, did you throw up on your periods before you had this surgery? I’m nervous about throwing up. Hate it. Thank you for your video.

    • @morrigansmagikalmakings
      @morrigansmagikalmakings  Год назад +1

      I had an IUD so I didn't have periods but I did have nausea and vomiting that seemed random at first then seem to happen about every 4 weeks almost like it was lining up with when my period would be but then it continued to escalate until it was happening every day, multiple times a day and pretty much consumed my life. It took a few months of recovery for the nausea and stuff to fade for me.
      I hope all goes well with your surgery and that you get lots of relief! Wishing you the best on your recovery journey 💜

    • @morrigansmagikalmakings
      @morrigansmagikalmakings  Год назад +2

      Sort of but not exactly. I was pretty physically limited prior to surgery so I didn't have issues with taking it easy while recovering but I did struggle mentally around months 1 and 2 when I felt like I should have been farther along in recovery. The thing that got me through was reminding myself that the situation was temporary and I would get better and be able to do the things that brought me joy again eventually but at that present moment I needed to lean into resting.
      Healing takes time and the best thing we can do for ourselves is be kind and patient to our body and mind. Hope your mental health takes a turn for the better and that your recovery goes smoothly 💜
