Thank you so much to all of you who watched this video with me. I really appreciate you being here and listening to my story. Ofcourse this is only my story and not everyone may experience the same pain and emotions as myself. We are all unique in our own way. Again, thank you for being here ❤️
I think your story will give the woman courage to make often difficult decisions. I know why I enjoy watching your video so much. Because you are not only beautiful and inspirational woman, but above all honest, intelligent and simply good. Keep it up:)
@@newnana9070 hi Nina - thank you so much for sharing with us your personal experience on this. Yes, I feel so good and do not regret it at all. I'm living life now and before it was like time had stopped...😉
Hi Vilma! Thanks for your video! I just have abdominal total hysterectomy with both ovaries and tubal removal 2 weeks ago. My emotional is like on a roller coasters!
Fibroids are sooo painful. Had my hysterectomy last week and everything is gone, including my cervix. I feel SOOO MUCH BETTER!!! Robotic surgery was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING....felt incredible after just 3 days. Secret is Moltrin 800mg, walking and sitting up. For anyone facing this, GIRL YOU'VE GOT THIS! YOU'LL FEEL SOOOO MUCH BETTER❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍
Amy L. - You are absolutely right! I had my procedure done May 3rd and I feel amazing and bored from sitting home lol. I drank plenty of water and drinking celery juice for bowel movements. I had no issues!
@@tiffanymonet470 I'm having my procedure done in 3 weeks. I am very anxious. How are you doing now? Any tips I should keep in mind? I've never had surgery before. I'm in my early 50's.
@@bwhatever60 Hello Barbara! You will be just fine. I'am doing great today and I wish I 'd done this sooner. I feel like a new person. I have no pain, I'm walking around, bleeding has stopped, body is getting slimmer hence (fasting). Some tips I suggest is drinking plenty of water, drinking a green smoothie everyday to get bowels moving, eat lots of protein (Fish, chicken, eggs, cottage cheese, plain yogurt. Eat good carbs (Brown rice, sweet potato, quinoa ect). Please follow your doctor's post op directions. They are the experts and know what's best for you. God bless and I pray your surgery is a success. 🙌🏽 💪🏽
HAD MY HYSTERECTOMY IN 2012, FEELING WONDERFUL! NEVER HAD KIDS...DIDNT WANT THEM BUT I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NOT HAVING TO WEAR DIAPERS FROM HEAVY PERIODS
Can you answer my question? as of 2021 almost 2022 are you experiencing a prolapsed bladder or inconsistence I would like for you to honestly answer this question before I have this hysterectomy
I had a hysterectomy 2 months ago because of fibroids. Never had kids but I was not trying to. It still sucks that we have to loose parts of our anatomy because of these conditions.
Just had a full hysterectomy. I’m on day 4 of healing. I’m doing great. Glory to God! I’m moving slow. I woke this morning and got my first shower. I had my first bowel movement last night and I felt so much better. Thank you for this video your delivery was beautiful ♥️
I had an abdominal hysterectomy on June 13 was up and walking after recovering from surgery and was home the next day. Experienced very little pain throughout the entire operation after a month I went back to work. Best decision in my life, plus I lost 5 inches on my waistline. I haven’t been able to where dresses in years because of the fibroid bulge, now I’m wearing everything
Thank you for starting your video with recognition to those of us who don’t have kids and now have to have a hysterectomy. Mine is in 9 days. My heart is heavy, but I know it’s for the best. Last week I had to have a blood transfusion because I’d been bleeding for 30+ days. People have no idea the mental pain we go through. I am praying for a good surgery and speedy recovery. Thanks for sharing your story.
Hello my lovely. I am so sorry that you are going through this tuff time. It’s truly not easy but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you a speedy recovery and many years ahead of good and healthy life 🌹
Much love to you. My wife and I are going through that now. She was devastated that she wouldn’t even have a chance to carry a baby. She is a labor and delivery nurse si it makes it that much more difficult.
I had a hysterectomy three weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was either that or continue having a daily period and severe pain. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis. My last menstrual period started in July, and never went away. After d and c, endometrial biopsy, oral contraceptives... nothing worked! Fortunately, I’m 46 years old, finished having children after one son I had 13 years ago. The pathology report revealed severe adenomyosis. No other option for me. My heart goes out to all the women suffering and who have to make the decision to get a hysterectomy . Trust God that everything will be fine.
This was my same exact experience. I always had rough and painful periods with heavy bleeding. Last year my periods started to last a full week. Then in August it just never went away. And I bled bled bled nonstop. Huge clotting and massive blood loss and I couldn’t predict when it would come. Adenomyosis as well as fibroids. So along with the pain and bleeding, I had to deal with anemia so severe I literally had to stop after walking a block to rest. I was bone tired. Hemoglobin down to single digits. Which I had to raise up with diet and iron transfusions just to be able to qualify for surgery. It was an ordeal and I’m glad it’s over. I’m 44 with 3 children 2 of which are grown so it was the best decision for me. My heart goes out to the women who were unable to have children before doing this.
Im 38.i have adenomyosis. I am bleeding for one year now tried pills and progestin nothing worked. 🙁🙁🙁 Thinking of having hysterectomy soon. In shaa Allah. Watching some random videos now about hysterectomy 🤕🤕🤕
I had a total hysterectomy 2 weeks ago as I had cancer and pre cancer in my womb I'm 42 had no children but I'd decided that I didn't want them.... Its a hard thing to go through but it saved my life.. Its a slow recovery but I will get there.. Thank you for your video ❤️
I had my hysterectomy dec 2018 at age 38 with 0 kids. November 2017 I had a myomectomy and by April of 2018 my fibroids were back. I've always had painful long heavy cycles. I was very emotional a week after I made the decision to have surgery, but I knew it was the only way to have my LIFE back. I'm glad that you are doing well ❤
Wow your fibroids returned. I understand how you feel not having children. Its hard but you are healthy and safe. God bless you. Xxxxx hope you are feeling better. Xxxx
I am 37 and I am going in for a total hysterectomy in 2 weeks. I am nervous about having to be on Hormone therapy for such a long time. How are you feeling now?
This is so similar to my story! I had my hysterectomy almost a week ago and I'm 38. I had a myomectomy almost exactly 2 years ago and 8 fibroids were removed. He left 2 very large ones to try and save my fertility. I started going through an ultra tampon with a pad every 1.5 hours. I was debilitated. It wasn't fair to my husband. We made this decision and now I'm more concerned with his mental health. He says he's ok but idk 😪
Hello from New Zealand, I'm 41, lost a dear and cherished child at 14 weeks at 22. I'm about to have a partial laparoscopy hysterectomy in 4 days. I can't thank you enough for hearing your words of compassion, I really needed to hear those kind words. I don't feel alone in this anymore, I know I have a band of sisters all over the world who have gone before me. You offered kindess and hope today. Thank you sister.xxxxxxx
I'm in the hospital now about to go in surgery in a couple of hours, having a c section and full hysterectomy....I'm literally shaking texting this but I'm scared and sad.... But thank God before this surgery I decide this was my last child I currently will have three once the baby is born in a couple hours.......... But please pray for me all prayers 🙏 🙏 🙏 are welcome
Thank you for sharing this! My wife is scheduled to have a hysterectomy and I asked her to imagine what life will be like after and she said that she imagined sadness. I told her that I could see why. A woman's mental-emotional motivation for being is largely tied to her ability to bear children. I think that it's a crushing blow to anyone to have a large portion of your purpose voluntarily removed aka to shut the door permanently and suddenly on it rather than always have the idea there looming in the background that you are a potential child-bearer. And it doesn't matter how great the upside is. You have to come to terms with the psychological effects of the change. I want you to know that you are "Whole" as a being. Having a uterus, functional or not, doesn't define your being. I believe that we all, as humans, struggle with the concept of "wholeness" regardless of the issue. I see this with drug addicts who use to escape their sense of 'lack of wholeness'. I see it men in the gym who abuse steroids in order to provide a sense of purpose to mask their feelings of inadequacy and false sense of lack of wholeness. The point is that I dont want you or anyone else to ever feel alone because of this false sense. I believe that we all come here to experience and meet this challenge and mirage of "lacking wholeness" as part of our soul journey so that we can face, overcome, learn from it and then teach others, just like you're doing with this video. We may be born with different deficits and gifts, but we are all whole. Nothing is missing. Thanks again for creating this video!
I imagine this mental emotions myself of emptyness and so much more.. scares me thinking about having your uterus removed. ... thanks for the words.. blessings fo u and yours
Thank so much for this word of encouragement. I just turn 42, no kids, heavy bleeding with several large fibroids and my only option is getting a hysterectomy- literally saw the doctor and was told that. Felt sad, so seeing how you support your spouse and those reading your comment like myself. Thank you.
"Get your life back!" those are the words that helped me in my decision. I've suffered for decades, since my twenties. I'm 54 now and I'm about to have my hysterectomy. Fibroids and enlarged uterus is so uncomfortable. - Your video is helpful to many of us. ♥♥
I had my surgery 2017 and 3 years later I feel fine and sometimes I forget I had the surgery. My recovery went very well. Day one was ok,day 2 and 3 was horrible and by day 5 and 6 I felt fine. I watched videos on youtube and they scared the hell out of me. If anyone out there is scared or worried you'll be just fine.
@@winterblain4742 it's not as bad as you think. Your recovery depends on you!!! So if you go in with the mind set of a fast recovery you'll recover fast. I promise some of these people who had a hysterectomy make it seem horrible. Yes the first few days are uncomfortable but you'll heal and go on about your life.
Thank you for this video. I’m having a hysterectomy in two weeks and I’m 43 with no kids. I had a myomectomy in 2010 and here I am again with huge fibroids. I’m sad that I never had kids but as long as I can keep my ovaries there is hope. A friend said she would carry the baby for me. I pray life gets better for me. Thank you for your encouragement.
Make sure to talk to your doctor about your estrogen, brain, bones, sex (vagina), hair and skin before you decide. Also, make sure you are at a good weigh before th procedure (losing is almost impossible). I kept my ovaries and 9 month later my ovaries stopped working, bringing more issues than what the doctor told me Id have.
I had this life changing surgery a week ago and I am glad I am not alone. My fibroids were symptomatic to the point where I had to get blood transfusions. This by far is the most traumatic experience I’ve had. Just happy I am alive and already have daughter plus I will not suffer again each month making trips to the ER. Thank you for the video.
My Sister had a massive Fybroides that had to be cut out and she felt that her Doctors strongly urged her to also take out her uterus and tubes as well...However, once she had that surgery she was never the same again, because she so desperately wanted to have children. She fell into a deep dark depression that she couldn't get out of. She unfortunately passed away a year ago, I believe from a broken heart. I pray your video will help women who feel hopeless and depressed can get through this challenge with positivity and faith. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. It was truly touching and helpful. God bless you my love🙏🏾💗.
Hello Johnnel. I’m saddened to hear about your sister. I pray that GOD will comfort you and your family EACH and EVERY DAY with his LOVE and UNDERSTANDING. God bless you .
Wow! that is sooo sad and heart breaking! People must understand the a woman's reproductive system is like a jewel to her. they don't always work properly or not at all but the fact that they are apart of a woman's entire being/femininity plays a huge role psychologically. Physically we may feel on top of the world after a hysterectomy but mentally it's too close to home. I suppose there's a bright and dark side to everything. I have two beautiful daughters but after I had my 2and child at 28 I was done done! Didn't want anymore children by choice I have fibroids but they have grown over the years so it's time to have this procedure. My mind goes back & forth with emotions but as I said, it takes a mentally strong person to have this procedure. I knew it was time when every month I couldn't even stand because of the flooding. People will normally miss work because of sickness or appointments but I've had a history of missing work because I was too anemic to move from the bed. when it get to the point where you are hemorrhaging to the point of severe weakness hysterectomy becomes the only option. These fibroids stole over 20yrs of my life so yes, they must go ASAP. Mentally I will get past the sadness but I will never get past the countless years feeling drained as if I just delivered a child. To postpone this surgery would mean I'm giving these blood-sucking demons power so they must go to get my life back...period May your beautiful sister Rest in Paradise...she doesn't have suffer anymore for there is truly a light especially for her in the heavens!
Thank you for giving this perspectives- my experience was similar in some ways and completely opposite in others. It feels good to have a community of “hysterectomy warriors”
Thank you for sharing Its been 8 week since I had my hysterectomy I feel so much better a weight lift even my mood is better and no pain anymore due to firbords took a two years to get diagnosed. I suffered joints pain, fatigued dizzy spell weight gain heart issues. I felt at times no one believed me but my due to covid a lot of people have been left in pain and suffering. But I have to say my doctor she was amazing she said it was a tough surgery as one of the fibroid bout 14cm was basically sitting in the birth canal also ment I have to be opened on my tummy. But I really am 1000th % better then I was before my op. Thanks again for sharing you look amazing ❤ I am a mom of two boys and just turned 40 and I feel alive again x ❤️💕
Thank you for your post. I am 7 days Post Op and I keep thinking that I'm a wuss as I'm still moving really slowly. After watching this, I feel that I'm not alone. I am inspired and focussing on better days to come. Bless you 💞
I too had an hysterectomy back in 2013. I can honestly say that I do not miss having my menstruel cycle. I had fibroid that was causing me great pain and thus depleting my iron. I was tired all the time, so I am glad I had the procedure. I am almost 50 years old and am going through menopause. Horrible night sweats.
I was diagnosed with endometriosis 3 years ago and I’ve been taking pills to stop my periods. Although I mentioned it, my gyno didn’t expose a hysterectomy as an option. Last year, I asked for a second opinion and literally asked to get the surgery done. I’ve already had a bunch of tests and I’m waiting for a date confirmation. It is my body and it is my choice. I’m 40, have a 11 y/o boy and no desire of having more kids. Just wanted to say THANK YOU! Listening to your testimony gave me more confidence about my decision and, especially, a lot of hope about my life changing for good ☺️☺️☺️
I just had my hysterectomy on Monday. This is day number three. I’m trying to take it easy. I’m still learning how to sleep so that it won’t hurt so much. My story is a little bit different. I found out I had a huge fibroid when I originally thought it was just sciatic pain. I just turned 39 today…no kids. I didn’t have heavy periods but the fibroid was sitting on my sciatic nerve causing me to have extreme back and leg pain. Im not sad that I don’t have kids… I have 8 godbabies and I work with kids. When the doctor said that I could possibly grow another fibroid if they just take the fibroid. I had an amazing surgeon he asked me every time I had a visit “Are you sure you want to do this”. He even gave me a month to make a decision.
I had an amazing surgeon as well… he kept asking me the same thing as well as how was I emotionally, seeing that I had an emotional time at one of my visits. I’m 3 days post op, but this was the best thing for me. I had a supportive surgeon, husband, family, nurses, co-workers and friends. I’ve been blessed with this great support system ans truly believe this stress-free time is what is helping me heal. 🙏🏾
This is by far the best video about fibroid experience on RUclips in my opinion. From start to finish, I totally appreciate your empathy, sympathy concern and understanding. And I completely respect your testimony and journey. I will be going in for my hysterectomy tomorrow morning and by far looking at this video has reinforced my decision and reasoning for doing this. I know it has to be done otherwise I will be going through the same fibroid issues again. I was blessed to have two children, and even though in the far corner of my mind I would have loved to have had a little girl as I have two boys now, after the miscarriage, I know that I am in no position to fight or complain. I'm very grateful and thankful and I am looking forward to having a fibroid free body.
Hello lovely - thank you so much for leaving me this wonderful message filled with kindness and words of wisdom. I do very much appreciate your time just to be here and to have shared a portion of your life as a woman and as a mother. I hope that God continues to bless you on your journey ❤️
I just went through a full hysterectomy now recovering. Thank you so much for sharing your story. You are one of the few to speak on emotions and I loved your quote in the beginning of the video. Thank you!!! 💗🫶🏼
This made me cry because you explained just how I feel. My fibroids have derailed my life as I'm anemic from so much blood loss and always feel weak, tired and cold. I can't leave the house for 3 days each month having to deal with the flooding and sheer exhaustion. I'm almost in menopause and I'm thinking of removing my uterus so I have take hormone replacement for the rest of my life to save my bones and overall health. Estrogen will make them grow, so I don't see why I should get them removed only to find they have grown back. Thank you for sharing. It really helps. Glad you are feeling empowered again!
Thank you so much for being so open and transparent with your experiences and feelings. I am facing a hysterectomy and I know it is the absolute correct thing for me and to “regain control over my life”, as you said. THAT is exactly how I have been feeling - like I do t know what my body has in store for me from one day to another. I am an ESL teacher, and I am so sad that I will be missing a good chunk of the year with my kiddos… but I think they’ve already been impacted by my extreme lack of energy. Thank you again for your courage and sharing your voice with those of us who are facing the future more brightly bc of you❤.
I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer..0 kids..life or death..i chose life..i was feeling so down..march 9 2021 was my surgery..but reading the comments i see i am def not alone..thank you for this video
Thank you for posting, Vilma. On my 40th birthday I was released from the hospital after my hysterectomy due to endometriosis. I have no children, but I'm happy this happened to me, because I was always prepared to live without them. I had no issues and still have none, almost ten years later. I too have my life back.
I turned 40 and had a hysterectomy a week afterwards. I have no kids, but also never wanted any. I have 3 bonus babies with my husband and 2 goddaughters that I love dearly… so I’m fine with no biological kids.,

You're beautiful and so is your daughter ❤️ I really appreciate you sharing your story. I am seven weeks past a hysterectomy, lost my uterus, fallopian tubes and a 11 cm fibroid. I don't feel normal and I am struggling with waves of sadness. I wasn't expecting this to be such a struggle, maybe I was just so naive. Sitting is really rough, especially on hard surfaces. It helps to know I am not alone and to hear other women's experiences. God bless you.
Stay strong lovely. It will get better, I promise!!! You need to deal with one thing at a time. 1st your health. 2nd your emotions. 3rd your journey ahead. It will get better ❤️🩹
I am 40 and struggling with fibroids that makes me have spotting for almost 10 days after 4 heavy days on my period. Sometimes I feel sad and depressed because it’s affected my husband as well. I have a new gynecologist now after 3 years I followed another one with any changes, I hope with this new one I can have my life back. I thank God because I have 2 handsome boys, it’s a blessing. Your videos are so inspiring and your daughter is a little angel. I really love your channel. Be blessed 😍
I'm 4.5 weeks post op. This is the best video I've seen so far. I thought I was looking for informative videos, but hearing your true emotions made me feel so much better. I'm not alone. All of the videos I've seen, even ones talking about their complications, are just straight forward. I didn't know I needed to hear the emotional side of it, but I'm glad I did. Thank you. It really does help
Hello my lovely and thank you for leaving me a message!! When I was in your place, I felt the same. Most of the videos I found were not helpful to my state of mind. We know that with any surgery, there are possible complications and I really didn’t want to make others feel bad when watching my video. This was my personal testimony of all that went down and how was feeling. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a message ❤️ Wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
Thank you Ma'am. I just randomly came across your channel. Thank you for your support. I just had Hysterectomy done today. This gas they put in your body to get a better look of insides really hurts. Not to mention feeling constipated as well. I've just took my Hydrocodone n back to rest for now. 💕
Thank you for this video I am on week 3 of my hysterectomy and I have really been going through the motions a lot of ups and downs and emotional roller-coaster. This video and all the comments from other women who has gone through this, it let's me know I'm not alone thank you for this uplift and sharing your story
Thank you so much. I am on week 2 after my total hysterectomy and I've watched thousands of videos but I have to say yours was most relatable and I feel so encouraged. More blessings to you!
I came across your video thank you so much for sharing. I was in tears I needed to hear this video. I am scheduled for a hysterectomy on July 19 I'm so afraid but it's a necessary step for me. I could relate to so many things you said. I also have been suffering with heavy periods and terrible pain. I have endometriosis the quality of my life has diminished! I also have 1 child Thank God who is 14 yrs of age that I want to be healthy enough to raise him❤ This video has eased alot of my fears I pray my surgery is a success such as yours🙏
@@Itsmyytimee yes it did thanks for asking! I feel pretty good right now first 4 days or do was pretty rough so now I'm feeling more like myself! Trying not to over do it. Lol Thanks for asking 🥰
Thank you for sharing this Vilma. Need this. I'm one of the people who you spoke to being in my thirties and not having kids yet. Dealing with fibroids and dr's focussing on removing my uterus.... cause that's the only thing they have to offer. I felt it deep in my bones when you said 'getting your quality of life back' and having the feeling that you are lost. Cause nobody seems to understand. I understand why you get emotional. I have it all the time 'if' I talk about it. Not having control over your own body and mind is dramatic. . I have hope.... I am grateful for you sharing your story... I hope you will continue on being happy with yourself.... .. I wish myself the best as well when a change is gonna come.
Thank you for making this video. My doctor suggested that I need a hysterectomy. I’m afraid to do it…. I have my period right now and I’ve spent the entire day in pain, crying, breathing heavy, with heart palpitations from the anemia caused by the huge amounts of blood I lose every month. I’m sick two weeks per month! I feel bad for my family and I’m mentally and emotionally exhausted of my period. I hear so many negative things about the surgery, like weight gain, prolapse, body changes like the drop of your rib cage, wide waist, bladder prolapse, etc etc . I look at you and you look amazing, even better than before. You look healthy and happy.
I had hysterectomy 7 weeks ago. I had a vertical cut. Very little pain after surgery. I started walking the next day. Everything was going fine until 2 weeks after surgery. I went for my check up and found out I had an abscess ( I had pain and a lump in my lower abdomen about 2 days before I saw the doctor). The next few days were terrible. I got readmitted in the hospital and stayed there for 3 days. I was given a lot of antibiotics in the hospital. I was also released with antibiotics for 7 days. Once the abscess was drained (about 2nd day in the hospital), all the pain was gone. Due to the infection, a section of my incision reopened for drainage purposes. Seven weeks later, I must say I'm feeling much better. I'm getting ready to go back to work next week. I'm almost back to my former self. I avoid heavy lifting, but I'm able to do almost everything like before. I haven't had sex as yet😅😅😅, however, I've been having the urge. I've also gotten wet after watching a few porn videos. I would say, really think about the surgery. I think the benefits are worth it in the long run. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Stay blessed.
I had my hysterectomy on 6/3. I am now feeling back to normal. Best decision of my life. I was able to go back to work part time after 3 weeks. I had the laparoscopic surgery. 4 small abdominal incisions.
I FINALLY have my surgery date & it’s January 22nd🥰🥰 I cried when the secretary told me, dealing with cramps that’s similar to labor pains is so stressful.
I have normal menstruation. No heavy periods. Started having fibroids for 11 yrs. Its just the last year that I felt different. Abdominal pain, heavy bleeding and my latest ultrasound and MRI. I have infection on my right fallopian tube, my left fallopian tube had a cyst and burst. So there was heavy bleeding. Then last year, got diagnosed with endometriosis. The pain got worst and fibroids got bigger and it just making me very uncomfortable in everything. I can’t do my usual stuff(sports, dancing, hiking etc). Life has not been fun and not easy lately. So my doctor decided for total hysterectomy in the next 2 months. I am 48, no kids. This video makes me understand better and felt less anxious. Thank you for sharing your story.
Just had my hysterectomy and ovary removal. I am thankful for women like you who shared their story. It gave me strength and made me feel prepared for what was to come prior to surgery.
Thank you for putting out this video. I'm about to have a hysterectomy and I'm excited. I've been trying to have a hysterectomy for YEARS and it just never happened for some reason. Now that I'm dealing with a LOT more fibroids and done having children, it's time. I look pregnant all the time and on the pill to keep from having 3 periods a month.....yes, I said 3! the fibroids are causing immense pain and I'm excited to get off the pill and move on with my life.
Hi Diane - I’m pleased you are going to finally be free from the pain and discomfort you have been dealing with!!! I wish you a super speedy recovery 💕
I was having 3 periods a month myself! I gained so much weight, even though I was barely eating at times. I have an ob gyn appt to determine if I want to have a hysterectomy… and I’m leaning more on the side of yes. I cant deal with the blood loss, fatigue, weight gain, having to feel like you are by yourself and alone.
I stumbled on your video,we have gone through similar circumstances,I had my surgery this year in March and I feel so good and alive,God has blessed me with a beautiful 20 mth old babygirl who is a beautiful gift from God....you are a strong woman and you shared your experience and I am grateful....all the best to you and your family God Bless!
God bless you. Unfortunately god didn’t bless my wife with any kids. Instead he gave her a rare uterine sarcoma that has metastasized to the lung. She never smoked. They will remove her uterus and on top of that remove her her ovaries. She will never have that privilege of carrying a baby.
@@carlbernngl I am so sorry your family have to go through this, will keep you and your wife in my prayers. May the Lord strengthen you at this time🙏🙏🙏🙏
You seem like such a kind, genuine woman and I’m so grateful I came across this video. With your encouraging words and listening to your positive experience I feel at ease about my getting my hysterectomy In January. I’ve never been able to conceive and being almost 41 I’m over the wanting a baby phase of my life, especially where I have 3 step children now. I was reluctant to scheduling my surgery because of that little bit of hope left I have but after my fibroid pain and past myomectomy and the fact I’d more than likely return for another one soon I just want to be done and feel relief. And as you said “get my life back!!” Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing. Had 2 Laparoscopy to take out my fibroids but it kept coming back and end up having a hysterectomy in the end. Was blessed with 3 kids so no plans of having anymore. Feeling much much better now. No more 2-3 weeks of bleeding and also no more anemia.
Thank you so much for this. I'm about to have this procedure in August and I am going through a plethora of emotions. They're going to be doing a full hysterectomy on me. I'm watching a lot of videos and I find them more helpful than I thought I would. So thank you.
So grateful for this video. I just had to have a hysterectomy due to placenta previa and accreta and third trimester bleeding that wouldn't stop the third time. I'm grateful for my children and have suffered with endometriosis for years too so many miracles. I've been so traumatised by the whole thing. Needed bladder surgery to and got my ureters shaved. Still have painful stents in. So grateful my little preemie survived too. Forever grateful but also so sad and grieving.
Same here, I had my surgery june 13 everything went smoothly very little pain after surgery and also once I got home. was active before & after so that made my recovery that much more faster. lost 5inches on my waistline. First time in years I’ve been able to wear dresses, I don’t have to hide my fibroid belly no more
Thank you so much for posting your video. I so needed to hear those words " I want my life back"! My procedure is this coming Friday, Jan 22, 2021. I'm not looking forward to this surgery, but I am looking forward to NOT having anymore embarrassing /heavy periods! This has been a very hard and tough decision to make, but I'm tired of being anemic/feeling weak and having to get iron infusions. So this is what I need to do. Thank you again for your video and the encouragement.
I am so glad to hear someone who has felt the emotional ups and downs like I have and I am now. You said so many things that I felt. I really feel you understand the same things I have been thinking. I was a very hard decision for me as well. I was sad to think of losing my uterus. I was attached to it. It gave me 3 children. I want to cry off and on when I see a pregnant person or someone I know just had a baby. I am 46. 2 weeks post op. I had pelvic/bladder pain for last 2 years. Unknown reasons. Nothing obviously wrong with any of my female insides. It was so tough to decide because of this but I finally decided I had to give this surgery a chance to see if it can fix me. I couldn’t keep living in pain. I am hoping it will work. I hear everyone’s after hysterectomy stories and they sound so positive. I am hoping this will be me. To feel good again. To be myself. I am so glad you are doing so well and thank you so much for sharing!!
I had this procedure done 33 years ago after having 4 children. I was truly suffering every month embarrassed and so on . Today I am sooooooooo happy I did it since then I am really enjoying my life.
I'm sorry you had such a rough experience! I'm two weeks post and I'm so grateful that it was such an easy, pain free procedure for me. the hardest part is remembering that I just had surgery and need to take it easy! I'm sharing this so other women know that the experience can vary, greatly. I had an ankle surgery last year that was incredibly rough and I'm still recovering all this time later.... before hand, everyone said that would be easy and it definitely was not. It's strange how the body reacts so differently to the same procedure ❤
Thank you for sharing your story. I had a partial hysterectomy on 04.08.2020 after enduring severe pain for over a year. My stomach grew to the size of me being 9 months pregnant. My pathology report stated the doctors reviewed a fibroid the size of a full term baby. If anyone knows the pain you may have experienced, I DO! Now after the surgery I feel like a new person and it helped me to lose 26, LOL. A blessing and a curse. I am happy that you are at your best as well.
@@vilmasclosett Thank you so much. It's comforting to know that someone understand what I felt. My body did not belong to me. I would feel like I was having constant pregnancy contractions. I had the surgery 2 months ago even with the scare of Corona and that was best decision I ever made for myself. Again, thanks for sharing your story. P.S. I don't miss having a period 😜.
You have no idea how much I needed this. I am 6 weeks out and I’m still a little emotional 🥹. I’ve gained weight I still feeling a lot of pressure. Thank much for this! Very happy I had it done as well!
This is so encouraging... I just had mine done it's almost been 3 weeks. I use to pass out days after having my cycle from heavey periods, I have gotten blood transfusion and my hemoglobin has been from 4 to 5... I am looking forward to feeling strong again. Thank you for making this video...I stubbled across this and I'm glad I did.
Thank you so much for sharing your story, it is very encouraging to me, because I'm going through what you went through before your surgery. I currently have multiple fibroids, with one being the size of a baby. I'm always tired with low energy, and always not in the mood to enjoy life, with heavy bleeding abnormal long period days! ...I have been putting off on having a hysterectomy for a few years now, but now I'm so ready to have the surgery, so that I can start living a normal life again. Thanks again for sharing! You and your daughter are very beautiful❤
I have an upcoming appointment on Wednesday to discuss hysterectomy surgery, I had ablation in 2009 & I was pain free for a few yrs after that. When the pain started back it immediately was on 1000! I’ve been putting off surgery for a long time due to work & timing not being right. Prayfully my new dr approves me for surgery next month. I’ve had 3 kids & I’m over heavy bleeding & big clots, thank you for sharing your story.
You give me hope you’re an angel. Thank you for your time and effort you’re really helping a lot of women like me to stay positive. Thank you and may God bless you and your family.
I just have to say thank you God for bringing your videos into my life. I watched both of your videos with tears in my eyes. I am in the midst of dealing with the non stop bleeding so much so I had to go to the emergency room last week. I had an MRI to discover that my larger fibroid is pressing against my uterus which is filling with blood. Fortunately I am way behind childbirth age, unfortunately I am a lot older than you with other health issues which can make surgery very dangerous. Vilma you are truly a godsend, I want to get my life back, and you have given me the motivation to do it.
Hello my lovely and thank you for leaving us a comment! I hope that get the treatment you need soon so you can start your journey to a new and best life 🥰
@@vilmasclosett Hi Vilma, Thank you so much for your comforting reply. I am scheduled for a total hysterectomy on 11/15. I am nervous but I am holding on to your advice of getting my life back.

Just found this video, I have no children and after my doctor suggested this procedure I didn’t realize that I might want them😢😢 but I am in so much pain so I’m going to do what I have to do for my health 😊
I had a hysterectomy in 2013, I was unable to conceive, and because of my condition I was not a candidate for laparoscopic surgery. Recovery was very difficult and I started menopause early.
Thank you SO much for this video! I had a full hysterectomy 10 weeks ago (my uterus was holding 13 large fibroids) I feel so much better but I know it will take more time for me to feel "normal" again, because I have forgotten what that used to feel like.
So glad I found this video! Others had me terrified! Seeing my doctor tomorrow to schedule my full hysterectomy due to multiple fibroids. I'm 52 with 5 children and 2 grandchildren so it really was an easy decision for me. I'm getting my life back!!!!
I was watching you and I felt a kind of relief but when you say you still have your uterus I went back to square one but if you are on what's up we can chat
Thank you for this video. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago. I was okay at first but started to feel really down and worried this week. I came across your video and it made me feel optimistic again. Thank you and I hope you are well.
@@shellannesemple-lytch8801 hello lovely it’s normal to feel different emotions after. I felt the same. Us ladies have so many stages in life and naturally we worry about so much. Just take your time and one day you’ll feel so much better🌷

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I recently had a total hysterectomy and I needed to find some light at the end of this tunnel. Still very uncomfortable and healing at this point. I appreciate your honesty and you’ve made so many things more clear to me than any of the other videos I’ve seen. Be Blessed!!
I first want to thank you so very much from my heart for addressing this matter which has always been kept hush hush by my generation. I was 28 when I was told I had to have a full hysterectomy because of cancer. I had given birth to 4 children and only one went really well - my first born baby. She was was my smallest at 7 pounds. The nightmares about these pregnancies, births, moral and financial support to get a single mother of 4 children a clean start. A year after my youngest baby was born, I was pushed through for my hysterectomy. Again, no moral support and I had to resort to placing my 4babies in temporary foster care. I was only 27! I had no idea what was about to happen to me! To this day, I'm more TRAUMATIZED because NOBODY CARED.
you have my sympathy. going through the same right now and terrified to have a surgery all alone in a foreign country. I never had kids. you, at least, have, or will have eventually when you're up on your feet the chance, ney, the DUTY to raise 4 great human beings who care about other people, not in a victim naive way, but in a sincere, intelligent way that understands the world cannot function for anyone if poeple are selfish and indifferent. you can make a difference, a kid at a time. and of course with yourself. don't alow yourself to get bitter, misanthropic and indifferent, just like those who ignored you. also, as you are so young, build a life that makes people impossible to ignore you; study; have your mind matter. you are not alone in this.
Hi Mrs.Vilma; My name is Laiyenne and I'm 38 years old. I just watch your video. I had mine in February 14, 2022. My case was really complicated due to Lupus, heart Palpitations, blood clots diabetes, high blood pressure and so on. I didn't give myself any other option but to get rid of everything. I don't have any kids on my own but I have 11 nephews and nieces from my brothers. Those kids call me "Mom#2". I have been in and out in the hospital most of my life, but doin that procedure was one of the best decisions i've ever made. Even before I found out I had Endometriosis, fibroids and Cysts, I always know the best way to protect myself and anyone else is to not get into any relationship(made that decision when I was a preteen). Life can be so unfair but it's up to us to make the best of it. I wouldn't change any decisions that I made throughout my life. Keep pressing on. You have more to gain than loose in lifetime. Stay bless.
@@vilmasclosett Lupus(systematic Lupus erythematosus) is really challenging in every way. If I spend couple of hours without any kind of pain, I got so excited and use that time to do some house cleaning. That my family doesn't have to do everything for me.

Thank you for sharing your story. I've been diagnosed with urine fibroids back in 2021. Sometimes I'm in a lot of discomfort. Now I'm exploring my options for treatment.
I saw your video prior to have a UFE in October 2021. Today I was advised that the UFE was not effective as the fibroids are feeding off of ovarian arteries. The radiologist recommended for me to look into hysterectomy because there might less risks of falling into menopause by having a hysterectomy than another UFE. I had multiple surgeries and I am concerned but at the same time I am tired of my life revolving around fibroids, anemia, feeling tired… I just want to be healthy and like you I have 1 child. I feel blessed to have that child. I think that he is even concerned about seeing how much fibroids have impacted my life. Thanks for the video : )
I have a girlfriend who also had a hysterectomy about 3 years ago she was telling me that her sex life was not the same her doctor told her about Mona Lisa procedure she said that has changed her life she said before she had the Mona Lisa procedure she felt hopeless she said now she have her life actually feel like a woman again ifmi's doesn't come back I will be definitely getting a Mona Lisa procedure as well I will keep you ladies posted if anyone have any problems in that area may God bless all of us have a wonderful happy and blessed day
Olá Vilma! I had hysterectomy 2 months ago, but my surgery was because of cervical cancer. I also have kids but still get emotional about the subject, I can imagine how hard it is for people that don't have kids. I wasn't planning to have more kids but after the surgery I am constantly dreaming about being pregnant. Thank you for the video! It would be really nice see a video about how start to exercise after the the surgery.

I am 42. I have 2 kids; 16 and 13. I have been dealing w fibroids since 2017, but just last week I received some lab results and it shows multiple fibroids and my uterus is the size of a 3 month old pregnancy. The gynecologist recommended me to have a hysterectomy. I have constantly been uncomfortable and I've decided to go with the procedure. I'm mentally going through emotions, but I could see that at the end it would be life changing for the best at the end...thank you for your video
I cant begin to tell you how much I appreciate someone consoling me about having a hysterectomy for my health but dealing with the intense hurt of wanting kids. My family has avoided that issue because its genuinely a deep hurt for me.

I just had a hysterectomy December 2nd 2021. I feel amazing and it's the best self care I have done for myself. I kept my ovaries. I'm 51 and have 1 child.
July 23, 2024 on my bed recovering, and I am crying as I see you cry. I cry because I feel like I was not heard when I said I am struggling with periods and pain. Every day I am crying as I cannot wait to enjoy life
I started having problems from the time I started my periods. Heavy periods, throwing up, pain for 3-4 days , and fainting from elementary through my 40’s. I have 2 daughters, 12 years apart. I had my surgery at 47. They found I had endometriosis also. A lot of uterine tissues outside the uterus attached everywhere. I have my ovaries. You wonder why didn’t you do it earlier. No pain.
I want to thank you for this video. I was diagnosed with Fibroids after I almost fainted at work. I had been feeling weak but just made excuses and when that happened my co-worker said you need to go get checked. I went and had some blood work and I had SEVERE anemia. I was having heavy periods, longer cycles, and had ruined several bed sheets. I described my symptoms and my Dr. said you need to go to a GYN. I did and the utlra sound came back 2 small fibroids. that was Jan 2020. May 2020 I had an ablation which helped slightly but not really. but now my periods are so unpredictable it's scary. Sometimes heavy, sometimes not at all. start and stops whenever. it's crazy! My concern is what about my job I cant call off. Women we care so much about others and not ourselves. I am not living life. I'm always concerned about when I'm going to start bleeding or for how long. My whole life is centered around my period.. Enough is enough. I'm 45 no kids and never wanted any so I'm not sad but it is a major procedure and scary to think about being cut and recovery and pain but what is the alternative??? Suffering, ruined clothes, no vacations, being paranoid and anxious.. no no no. Ladies if your life is on hold because of your bleeding pause. weigh the pros and cons and get the surgery from an experienced doctor. I had a gyn appointment for tomorrow but my random period started so I had to rescheduled my check up. But once this passes I'm going to schedule my Hysto. I want to keep my ovaries for hormones but they can have my uterus and cervix. I'm with you all in spirit
I was literally on the last day of my period when i had my hysterectomy… i was like “this is the perfect way to say goodbye to a life of misery that periods, fibroids, etc gave me for 31 years. I’m 3 days post-op… and only been nauseous and had vomiting ( i do this after every sutgery) and got some gas pains, but overall i’m happy with the decision. 40 and no kids.
Thank you so much to all of you who watched this video with me. I really appreciate you being here and listening to my story. Ofcourse this is only my story and not everyone may experience the same pain and emotions as myself. We are all unique in our own way. Again, thank you for being here ❤️

Hey sis! How are you feeling now? And how did the surgery go?
Sending hugs !!!
Thanks for sharing I was just diagnosed this week. Sister also has it and doing light personal research before discussing with the dr.

I watched videos on youtube and they scared the hell out of me. If anyone out there is scared or worried you'll be just fine.
Am really scared and worried to do a hysterectomy . But am tired of my fibroids its depressing me.
Thank you. I'm scared and worried. Procedure July 26,2021🤦♀️

Hello Jamila - when we believe we will get better, it does happen. Stay focused on your health for now my lovely. I wish you a speedy recovery ❤️
@@vilmasclosett Many thanks indeed dear sister 💕
Yes that's what I'm afraid of. Now I have my hysterectomy scheduled for October. The doctor said a myomectomy the fibrods would most likely come back.
@@ABeautyAddict how are you feeling now? People rarely talk about the dark side of hysterectomy🤦🏽♀️
Johnnel, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. May she rest in piece⚘

Didn't want anymore children by choice
I have fibroids but they have grown over the years so it's time to have this procedure.
To postpone this surgery would mean I'm giving these blood-sucking demons power so they must go to get my life back...period
May your beautiful sister Rest in Paradise...she doesn't have suffer anymore for there is truly a light especially for her in the heavens!
Did you have the surgery? And if so, how was your recovery?
Your daughter’s entry into this video made me smile. You are both sooo beautiful!
Thank you so much Christine ❤️

Hi Carolyn - thank you for sharing your story ❤
God keep women safe from all hidden dangers and deadly diseases. Am 36, had total hysterectomy due to invasive mole. I thank God for my life
This is by far the best video about fibroid experience on RUclips in my opinion.

Awww send you loads of encouragement and love!! You’ll pull through very soon x

❤️
I had mine 1/11/21. How are you feeling?
How was the pain?

Now that I'm dealing with a LOT more fibroids and done having children, it's time.

God bless you. Unfortunately god didn’t bless my wife with any kids. Instead he gave her a rare uterine sarcoma that has metastasized to the lung. She never smoked. They will remove her uterus and on top of that remove her her ovaries. She will never have that privilege of carrying a baby.

Hi kay, I hope your surgery was a success. Why did you choose a hysterectomy and not a myomectomy.

@@lovelove326 my recovery was great, I felt like my normal self in less than a week. I had laparoscopic surgery and I still have my ovaries.
@@deshawndesire2368 That is beautiful to hear. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
Thank you so much Vilma. I am having a Hysterectomy and I was so worried that my life wouldn't be the same but you gave me hope. Thank you and God blessings.
❤️
I had my surgery almost 2 weeks ago now and your videos of your journey have helped me a lot. Thank you for sharing!
So glad I found this video! Others had me terrified! Seeing my doctor tomorrow to schedule my full hysterectomy due to multiple fibroids. I'm 52 with 5 children and 2 grandchildren so it really was an easy decision for me. I'm getting my life back!!!!
Hi and thank you so much for watching my video. Stay strong and positive and your life will get better soon ☺️
I was watching you and I felt a kind of relief but when you say you still have your uterus I went back to square one but if you are on what's up we can chat
@@monicadeleon1320 hi Monica I no longer I have my uterus. I have my ovaries
Thanks Vilma for this touching testimony. I,m recovering from an hysterectomy. I have been worrying over some post hysterectomy experiences but you have simply answered me. Am happy now that what I am going through is normal. Thanks and remain blessed
❤️
Hey lovely ,
I’m so sorry you have gone through a traumatic experience at such a young age. I hope one day you find piece with it 🌸
Sorry you went through that alone. Sending you ❤️ and hugs.
you have my sympathy. going through the same right now and terrified to have a surgery all alone in a foreign country.
Hi Mrs.Vilma;
My name is Laiyenne and I'm 38 years old.
Stay bless.
Hey lovely. Thank you for sharing your journey and story. I hope things get better moving forward 🤗
@@vilmasclosett Lupus(systematic Lupus erythematosus) is really challenging in every way. If I spend couple of hours without any kind of pain, I got so excited and use that time to do some house cleaning. That my family doesn't have to do everything for me.
I’m scheduled to have my surgery 01/13/21 and I’m really scared but listening to your makes me feel much better about my decision.
Thank you
Your thoughts and feelings at the moment are sooo normal!! I was the same way!! But I know I’m my heart you’ll be fine
I'm scheduled for one on the same day 1/13 and I am so emotional as well. I'm so glad I came across this video it gave me much needed comfort.
thank you so much for sharing your special story, im about to go through surgery and this helped me so much, i also feel like i have failed as a parent as i cant even do things like cook a dinner, go to the park, sit/stand for over half an hour. (im a single parent of 2 disabled childern), god bless you and your family. xxxxxxxxx
Thank you for sharing your story, it was very insightful. I will be scheduling my surgery in a few weeks and am terrified, your story has given me some peace of mind. God bless
Ola querida - thank you for sharing your story briefly. I understand what you are going through. It will take time, but one day you will feel so much better emotionally. Thank you for the video suggestion 😘
How are you doing now? I am about to this experience because of cancer.
Im sorry you are hurting. I hope you find peace and that God blesses you abundantly. ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience. I had my surgery one week ago, I am blessed I am able to scroll and watch your video. It helps me a lot specially in my recovery. God bless you!
Wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
Excellent video! You addressed several of the questions that I've been walking around with in my head. Thank you. Happy to see that you and your daughter are well.
great testimony, i had my hysterectomy on june 20 2022 and even though i got an infection and the healing process is now taking longer, iam so grateful to God!!! i too feel like i have a second chance at life. Fibroids stop my quality of life, now i can't wait to heal so i can spend time with my kids and not be so tired all the time. Thanks for sharing your story :)
Hope you’re feeling better .❤️
Thank you so much for sharing. My hysterectomy is Monday and it's Saturday now. I was nervous about regretting it but you're right i can get my life back. You have helped me so much. My mom passed away a couple years ago and she was my bff and so i haven't had any one who's had a hysterectomy to talk to our even just to tell her how scared i am. So again thank you with all my heart ♥️♥️♥️

How is your recovery going?
@@lovelove326 it's going ok, thank you for asking. I honestly didn't think I'd still be having pain this far in but i did have some complications.
@@lexi-the-hildafolk6300 Oh I’m sorry. Did you have an open surgery or robot assisted laparoscopic? Partial or total? I meet with Dr soon.
@@lovelove326 i had a total hysterectomy and it was laproscopic but i had a bad reaction to the gas they use during laproscopic surgery. I honestly would have rather had a longer recovery ( had it been my choice) and had the open then to do the laproscopic but don't compare yourself to me because I'm very sensitive to medications and things so if something could go wrong it will with me lol
Did mine in 2019,but luckily i had my daughter before she is Twenty two now, I'm doin great, my doctor is the number one

I'm having a hysterectomy tomorrow & your video has help me with alot of questions I have. Thank you for the information & a better outlook on it.
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to hear. I’m being recommended by 2 of my obgyn to get a hysterectomy done. And everywhere there’s only recommendations to not do it but I’ve suffered from painful periods my entire life. And now I want my life back
I had my hysterectomy 7 weeks ago. I am feeling much better, I thank God I did it because fibroids were killing me inside
I'm still struggling with the emotions from February of 2022. I felt better after my surgery but when I got home and alone it hit me. I started therapy. I encourage every woman who experience this to go afterwards.
Take it easy on yourself God is in control pls it is well
Love yourself & enjoy a better life without suffering ,,,you not alone in that situation ,there are many ladies out here still suffering ,enjoy your life now
Such an uplifting and encouraging video 💕 thank you for sharing your experience. I will be going for this very soon too. I am 37 and have no kids as of now but have registered for adoption. With prayers and divine love it never made me feel depressed that I won't be able to conceive.
A soul is a soul, it may choose your tummy or someone else's it doesn't matter. The soul who is destined to be a part of your life, always finds its way. I just had a hysterectomy December 2nd 2021. I feel amazing and it's the best self care I have done for myself. I kept my ovaries. I'm 51 and have 1 child.

Does it cost I ty think I need one
Was your cervix removed too?
I’m getting it done…period!
I’m almost 54 sick of the heavy periods from fibroids
@@honesty2476 Yes, my cervix was removed.
No pain.
Thank you so much. I'm in my late 50's and I'm about to start this process. Thank you for blessing everybody with this information.
