  • I had a total hysterectomy laparoscopic (LAVH) with the Da Vinci Method on April 11th 2016. I had my uterus, both fallopian tubes, left ovary and cervix removed.
I had this performed in hopes of easing my chronic pain condition PCS or Pelvic Congestion Syndrome.

When you get on the scale does it tell you that you’re beautiful and worth it every single day? Fuck the scale! And I say that because I had my surgery a month ago and I’m losing all this weight because I can barely eat anything and my gallbladder acting up. I’m looking in the mirror like woo hoo ! But my health!! That’s more important and I would trade it for some fat right now! Just turn the number back up on the scale and give me my life back! Bam 💥

Bless your heart. I am toward the end of week 4. Not feeling emotional at all at first i did post week 2. Insomnia was definitely a problem first 2weeks after surgery not so much now seem to be in a good sleep pattern. I seem to really be healing really good. Not gaining weight i think because I have gotten back into my power walking daily 30 minutes a day. I watch my diet and eating healthy.

Hello. I just had my hysterectomy on May 9th and I am having horrible horrible anxiety and insomnia. Did you keep your ovaries? It's nice to know it gets better. I feel like I'm going crazy.

Yea I was starting to feel like I would never feel better...it's a long recovery. But stay strong lady it does get better. I had everything removed but my right ovary. And I did struggle with horrible insomnia and anxiety as well. The insomnia has been getting better and I feel like now in my 8th week it's more under control. Do you have a support group or anything to lean on right now?

+Blair Dreessen yes I have an amazing husband and family. I do have four kids though and life is busy so it's hard to just relax most of the time. I'm so glad I'm not the only one and it's nice knowing it should pass. They keep wanting me to take an antidepressant but the first dose made things worse so I didn't continue. Maybe I should just tough it out. Thanks!

Hey lady! How you doing? Are you feeling better? They had talked about antidepressants with me but my dr felt seeing how I did after I got past 6 weeks before trying them. My mood improved after that mark and I didn't have to.
      How old are your kiddos?

+Blair Dreessen hi yes I'm feeling so much better! At around 4 weeks I was finally able to sleep and eat (probably a little too well lol!) I didn't need to take them either after all. I have three daughters and one son. My oldest is 12 then a 9 year old and then twins who are 6.

I had a total hysterectomy laparoscopic with the Da Vinici method 10/15/2018 due to finally having someone listen to me for the past two years that something was wrong and being told by two different doctors and their nurse practitioners that every thing was normal. Finally new doctor who ran bunch of tests sent me off for biopsies to find out I had endometrial cancer and I was anemic. Got everything removed then the wait till 10/31 to find out if the cancer had spread. The only thing I had a problem after surgery was that my butt cheeks ( its funny now) was numb till November. I only took Tylenol for pain and I was making my self walk and I had no one to look after me. Iit was just myself. Halloween I found out one lymp node was cancerous but did not go to the muscle and my doctor was very happy she got all the cancer which was Grade 2. I do not need any follow up treatment like chemo or radiation just check ups every year for 5 years

T Pierce May God continue to bless and heal your body. You’re a really strong, beautiful being and sure did tickle me about your butt cheeks being numb. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I’m so happy to hear how well everything turned out. Take care of your mental health and happiness please.🙂
