  • I had a total hysterectomy laparoscopic (LAVH) with the Da Vinci Method on April 11th 2016. I had my uterus, both fallopian tubes, left ovary and cervix removed.
I had this performed in hopes of easing my chronic pain condition PCS or Pelvic Congestion Syndrome.

I am post op two and a half weeks after a total laparoscopic...he took cervix, tubes and uterus; I had fibroids and cervical dysplasia almost at the cancer level; I quit taking pain meds 3 days after surgery and just used ibuprofen for pain management. The first week was brutal with the pain and not being able to get comfortable....as soon as week two came along, I felt quite normal. I just had my two week checkup and my doctor was pleased that I was doing so well; every person is different. Before my surgery I was a wreck worrying about everything, and all the tutorials I read; but I did take stool softeners and gas x, and it was a godsend; I also drank water constantly. I walked alot too, cause I was worried about blood clots.....even when I was hurting I made sure I moved around every single day. For those of you awaiting this surgery....it's really not as bad as your mind makes you think it is; I was so anxiety ridden right up until they put the meds in my iv....then I just felt this wave of calm come over me and all was well. I stayed one night in hospital and started eating food right away cause I was starving. Plus I knew it would help move along the progress with my intestines. Alot of peoples tutorials I watched on this surgery helped prepare me...and others couldn't be more different from my experience. Just stay positive, and make your experience the best you can. It all comes together in the end! GOOD LUCK ALL~

This is an old video, but I just watched because I am on day 22 and of all the videos I've watched you were like the best friend I didn't know I had. I was talking to the screen like yessss, omg girl I know the feeling, etc. You described this journey so far to the letter for me. I've felt everything you've said in detail. I did make the most horrible mistake of getting on the scale and OMG I was down for 2 days after!!! Omg the emotional toll that took on me was incredible. Ditch the scale. But yes, these days are hour by hour. I feel great then BOOM, I feel exhausted and tired and irritated because I don't want to lay in this bed ANYMORE. By now you're 6 years out, lol. But I'm just getting started. Have things been smooth since then??

I am 7 days post op and while I didn’t deal with any constipation, the gas pains have been REAL for the last 24 hours. I have been taking activated charcoal for the gas pains and it has been a Godsend! Love your videos. Thanks for sharing!

I went to my local good earth a couple days after the surgery and bought 1000mg if vitamin c,a super strong probiotic, some strawberry kefir, and magnesium 500 mg capsules. And drink tons of water and take these herbs in the morning. I’m also taking 300mg cbd five drops in the am and pm. It has helped tons. I take showers ever other day. I also have my daughter drive me to the store so I can get a food amount of walking in. The first three bowel movements were the most brutal and scary but once the herbs kicked in its been good. I also added in aloe Vera juice

It's really up to you and your body. I suggest just going for small walks each day, and listening to your body. You might find some days you can go further...and then the very next day not be able to go as far OR might even need a break all together. Just go slow, listen to your body and give yourself time to relax still during the day. I found I still got easily tired within the first few months post surgery

Yea be prepared for the estrogen dump (as i call it) and the sweats, hot flashes, moodiness.. You'll love it.. Its great

@@user-yh3fy8rs4r You are the FIRST PERSON I've seen write about sweating. I'm 38 years old and 9 days post total abdominal hysterctomy. I have been having crazy night sweats...sheets drenched! I'm also experiencing constant urine leakage (I wear pads) and gas and back pains. Prune juice (surprisingly) has helped with gas/back pains, but the pain is certainly still present---at night more so than morning.

@@rare2find0918 yep i had all of that, ok the sweating is an estrogen dump.. Major shock to your system, urine leakage.. Bladder can drop in some people so rest and put a heating pad on area if you can. Juice juice juice because your intestines can and will become completely blocked and you willl not know it exept that youre getting extremely ill and it can kill you fast. If you have to go on a completly liquid diet just until your intestines settle, very well hydrated too
