I have two aluminum Christmas trees. A vintage 8 foot Evergleam and a new (at the time) Yultide Expressions 5 foot tree from the early 2000s. Both are full and in spectacular condition. I enjoy pulling them out and putting them up every year

I’ve been widowed since 2013. I’ve tried online dating but the pool of quality single men around my age seems to have dwindled to practically nothing. The sting of loneliness has never left me. I’m about to retire and never thought I would be alone. The idea of being alone in retirement overwhelms me. I have plenty of friends for coffee and occasional trips but I’m trying to come to grips with coming home to an empty house at the end of the day for the rest of my life. It’s a deep pain like I never could have imagined. I feel for all the single people so weary of being alone.
