- Thank you SO much for the awesome questions you left in the comments of last week’s video announcing my move. Part 1 - • I’m Moving! Post Divor...
I’m going to answer questions pertaining to my divorce, separating Cally and I's finances, why I’m not keeping my house, the process of moving, and finally about the Apple Orchard House. There are some questions I didn’t answer, mostly ones about my new house that will have to wait until the official tour. So if I didn’t answer your question, I might answer it in a future video! I’m so grateful for your kindness and support during this move, it’s a really scary thing leaving behind the 60s House and the life I had there. Your support means a lot to me and you can see that when I start to cry lol.
Here is my Housewarming Gifts Amazon wish list if you want to see what items I need for my house. I know the list is pretty boring, not a lot of exciting items on there (unless you consider mops exciting). Please feel absolutely no obligation to buy me anything. If you do, thank you so much and I will unbox the item in a future video and thank you personally! www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls...
P.S. My yard sale is still happening and it will be held at the 60s house in Michigan! Here is a link with all the details - www.emilyretro.com/blog/my-ya...

You are a lovely reminder of how we are to treat one another, a considerate person full of respect and loyalty for those she cares for.
Awwwwww thanks 🥹😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I appreciate your kindness, Theresa! 💕
I really hope this helped clear things up! I haven't done a Q&A video before so if I left any questions unanswered please feel free to leave them in the comments here. Also, the crying was very unexpected but I hope it shows you how much I truly appreciate your kindness and support!
Jeffrey @Real Nifty Vintage did an Amazon list for things he needs for his and people send him stuff to his PO Box all the time!! He has a similar situation as yours, and did a RUclips video about it on his other channel, Jeffrey Thomason. This was an awesome question and answer, Emily!! Thank you for sharing!!
Oh interesting I’ve never watched him before I’ll have to check him out! Thanks for sharing I appreciate that 💕
Love Jeffery ❤
I’m super excited to see what you do with the new place! And thank you for explaining how the ads work. I’ll be sure to layoff the skip button for a bit.😂
Hahahahaha you’re welcome and thank YOU for considering leaving the skip button alone 😌🤣💕
Wow...I cannot believe that people who only know you and your story on line feel like they need to know your financial situation. Anyway I am very happy for you....I hope all goes will for you both. I have an idea for you since you can only paint a little. If you use fabric motifs or sheets you can apply them to the wall with liquid starch. It is easy to apply and remove images and just wash the wall with warm water and done. Looking forward to seeing you new place and all you do to it.
gina
Hi Gina! Well that’s a very interesting idea that I will have to look into. I have plenty of fabric to do that with 😂 I appreciate the tip ☺️
Omg yes curtains are expensive! And the rods too. When I bought my house the former homeowner took all the curtain rods when they moved out so I also had to figure that out on top of the curtains themselves. I’ve ended up with a mix of purchased curtains & handmade ones. And thankfully Hobby Lobby was clearancing out all their curtain rods when I was out looking so I got a deal there too. 😅
So sorry for your relationship break down. Look forward to your new home.
Thank you for filling us in on so many details and taking us along on your journey. You are such a kind, real person and I am enjoying getting to know you better. You are so refreshing to watch and I wish you nothing but the best. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us!!

Super good job clearing things up!!! I could tell from comments of the last video that folks were 🤔, and I thought, “oh no oh no oh no”. But now, 👍 ☮️ 💕👍
Oh that’s a huge relief it cleared things up, thanks for saying that it makes me feel better 🥲💕
Ooohh cant wait for the 70’s theme! 🧡

Oh Emily, you are the sweetest! I always look at things like this as starting a new chapter in your book of life. I am happy that you and Cali have been able to stay friends. Can’t wait to see your new home. My house is wood paneling too… so can’t wait for your inspiration!!
Thanks so much 🥲 oh yayyyy im excited to join the wood paneling family!!! 😂
Oh Emily,
You are so deserving and we all love your genuine personality and very talented eye for decorating. I would be honored to send some new things for your home to be. I absolutely loved the 1970s as a kid and it will be a fabulous and fun journey creating your new groovy sanctuary 🎉❤😊
Awwwww thank you so so much 🥲 I appreciate you and I agree, the 70s was the best!!!
I am SO looking forward to seeing the new place!!
Thanks so much 🥹💕
OMG, don't even get me started on curtains.
But I did get lucky one time at Goodwill and I found this one panel of vintage orange like thick curtain and is the most amazing thing ever.
Currently we have it covering our one little window in our master bathroom and it is just perfect.
But if you're someone that can do a little sewing you can find old sheets or fabric or something at a thrift store or a consignment shop and can use those to make curtains pretty easily for a fraction of the cost.
Ooooooooh that thick vintage orange curtain sounds so fab 💁🏼♀️
This video cleared a lot of things up.
Happy for you Emily! Change is good!
So true. Thanks, Rebecca 🥲💕
Wish you all the best 😊
Thanks a bunch, Sue ☺️💕
Laura here, you a re sweet and I love your videos a nd all your vintage finds. I wish I had all my toys and things from the 60s and 70s. Who knew !
Aw yeah I wish I had a bunch of toys from my childhood too and now they’ve become popular again 😂
Def use the curtain clips! I sew and still use them so that vintage panels of fabric can be even longer on the rod! Also I spray painted a very straight $3 bamboo tomato stake for two of my rooms! Barkcloth looks good on it!
Whaaaaat so you used that as a curtain rod?!?! That’s so smart! I was looking at using pipe from Lowe’s but that can be hard to cut. That’s such a great idea 😄
I’m surprised people had negative comments. I feel like you’ve always been open about the split and haven’t had anything bad to say about your ex.
Yeah I was surprised too but I guess people just assume ex means you hate each other 🤷🏼♀️😂
Emily your outfit is super cute! I am so looking forward to seeing the transformation of the Apple Orchard House. I know it's going to be groovy!🍎Also I think it would be neat to see a video of how Callie redecorates the 60s house.
Thank you so much, the outfit is all thrifted 😄 I think that’s a good idea to take a video or how the 60s house transforms. It’ll take a while because she wants to repaint rooms and stuff but maybe next year ☺️ great suggestion!
Wishing you the best.
Thanks for doing the Q&A. You have so much to teach us about how ending relationships are sad but they can be done amicably and in the end it is a normal thing that happens and is OK! I have one suggestion for when you hang curtains at your new place: if you don't already have curtain rods, I have been using metal conduit from the home improvement stores and it is sturdy, long, and cheap. just a little spray paint and works perfect with the curtain rings!
Thanks so much, Jaime that’s really nice of you to say. Omgggg I’m so glad you said that because I’m planning on using that piping!!! I looked it up and Home Depot will cut it for you for free to size so I’m excited to try that out. I’m glad you’ve done it though because I haven’t known anyone personally who has tried. Yay!!
Love this video. Love you Emily.
Love you too 😭😭😭
Thrift stores are amazing for finding not only the wacky items but also gadgets and kitchen items as well. We've been fortunate enough to find brand new items on a few occasions.
Like a couple months ago we found a brand new and inbox air fryer that I think was around 20 bucks or less. The box was open but everything was sealed up and everything was included which was amazing.
You can really find some gems as we do a LOT!
We have been fortunate enough to find like mix and match vintage dishes and just so many random, unique and awesome items.
But also yard sales are great too.
Yessss im so excited for garage sale season! Nice score on the new air fryer, I don’t own one but I’ve used them before and they’re awesome 😄
Nothing wrong with renting! Also, I agree- the term "ex" has a negative interpretation around it- it's awesome you are sharing your experience, because people need to see examples of divorces that end with a form of friendship and respect.
I can't wait to see what stuff is left behind in the house...
Thanks, Robyn! I agree I see very little representation of couples that still stay friends and it’s a really cool thing if you can make it work ☺️
70s yay! I can't wait. ❤❤❤
Yay me neither 😄💕
I'm trying to place an order, but it's showing only addresses I've used before. Will you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
@@kellycooper6641 aw that’s sweet of you! I have absolutely no idea I’ve never done this before. I just tried to update it to see if that helps. If it still doesn’t work you can send me an email or message me on Instagram and I’ll give you my address. Thank you 🥲 emilyretroblog@gmail.com
@@kellycooper6641 I just had a family member try it out and when you go to check out there should be an address listed that says “Emily Retro gift registry address”
Emily! You are on a huge adventure. I'm excited for you! That sun room is going to be so darn fun. I would be living in that room! (Sunshine is so healing) Do you shop at places like Dollar Tree? They do have some of the things you may need. (Cupcake holders etc) but they, of course, are not vintage and more plastic stuff. I think an Amazon list is fantastic and a great idea., Does Cally have any idea to eventually sell your house? Your name being on there with her, will that be shared Profits? There is so much to think about! I'm just happy for you. I can see the excitement of a new place. Make sure you have a craft area! Hugs from Minnesota. We are up here still waiting on Spring!
Thanks for the hugs, Jeanie! We have the whole house finances figured out so that’s a big relief ☺️ I love dollar tree and that’s a great suggestion! 😄
Oh my goodness thank you for telling us about Only in your State!
You’re so welcome! Happy traveling 😄💕
I've used PODs before and it was a really good experience. Would highly recommend.
Oh yayyyy that’s awesome to hear from someone who actually went through the experience! Woohoo 🥳
Love you Em ❤
Love you too Petra 💕
You are the best! Xo
So are you 🥹💕
Have you ever thought of being an online reseller of vintage? I have a channel that I started to create a market for myself and that's been great but most of my revenue has been created by dedicating time to building my Etsy and Ebay shops. I do have to say that lately my instagram and youtube subscribers have been buying more and more from my shops.
Ahhh Emily you are so sweet. What a lovely video. I'm thinking maybe you can have a shared collection of xmas and Halloween decorations and decide each year who has what so you can have variety? IKEA has curtains that are affordable although not as cute as custom made. I'm sure you will rock the wood paneling. Welcome to 1973 😉😅😅
Hahahaha thank you I’m very excited to be here in the 70s 😂 I agree with you, I already told Cally she could use some of my blow molds because they take up too much space at my new place ☺️
God bless you!
Thanks, Judy 🥲
I just bought a 9x12 ft 2000 dollar Pottery Barn rug at the bins for 60 dollars. I've seen tons of rugs there.
THATS A GREAT TIP 👏👏👏 I never would have thought of the Goodwill Bins for rugs, thanks for sharing and congrats on your nice Pottery Barn rug score 🥳
I have to get moving and have a yard sale. Waiting for the weather to get warmer.
I hope your yard sale goes well! 👏
👍😃
Emily - I love your blouse and overalls. Such a cute and fun outfit. Where did you get them?
They are both vintage! I paid $5 for the overalls from a thrift and $3.50 for the blouse from a record store that sells vintage clothing 😄 they are both handmade pieces without tags
@@emilyretro How cool! Thanks for sharing! I love your style and videos!
I don't think you owe anyone specifics on what you are doing...just saying 😊
Very true, I just want to clear up whatever I can 😂
Where are the links?
They’re in the video description! ☺️
i don't think you suppose to explain all of this please STOP
You're adorable Emily! 💗
I love vintage items too!
You remind me of my friend Christy cupcake🧁
Aw well that’s very sweet 🥹💕
So happy for you! I sent you a message on Instagram for your address for the garage sale and hoping to hear back soon ❤
How long ago did you send it? Sometimes IG messages get lost in the cracks so if I missed it please message me again! I think I’ve responded to everyone about the yard sale so I’m not ignoring you, I think IG doesn’t always work properly.
@@emilyretro no worries! It was last Wednesday :)
Just sent again but no rush! You have a lot going on :)
