Do you have a budget that you set for wish list items? There are items that I really want to find and often can at antique shops but…$$$$ Also what happens for me is that I’ll find the item for cheap but the shipping to Canada is $$$$
I don’t write down a budget but there is a number that I won’t go over that I keep in my head. There are certain items that I’m desperately looking for that I will pay more for, like the Hudson Bay jacket I would pay $50 (which is way cheaper than what it costs online but is a lot for me to spend on a coat). I mostly just apply patience and wait and wait and wait until I find the items cheaply. I see the items I want at antique stores too but they’re out of my price range so I leave them behind. Hope that answers your question ☺️
Okay i'm going to share a craft I do- take a breath and sit down first cos it's gonna blow your mind. Buy chipped lady head vases, then kitsch them up with vintage Christmas bits and bobs as hats! omg so fun to decorate a mini tree as a hat. you're welcome!
I'm a Gen X and my family had a lot of those growing up. My mom had a lady head vase collection that I think she tired of at some point and donated them. The vintage patio furniture, Fire King, blowmold patio lights, so many memories.
Definitely a head vase, I’ll take a scratched, chipped, cracked broken one, and work my way up to affording my dream perfect one💖I love your videos and I’m playing catch up trying to see them all. I’ll get there my dear, I also had the same blue typewriter your mom had when I was a teen in the 70’s
Emily, I live where the Hudson Bay Company established itself in Canada. I’ve always wanted a blanket, they are still available new, the coats are amazing. Watching from Manitoba, Canada🇨🇦🤩
I don't know if have heard of a RUclips channel called LizRetros and she actually did her own Catherine Holm pieces. She and her husband are very creative. I love your channel.
This was great! I learned so much, Emily! Some of the things I also have are two tulip bowls and five lady head vases. I’d love to find some mugs. Are they Fire King? I think I’d like to make a vision board. I’m going to read your post on it.
thanks for sharing! i have a three piece homecrest patio set in groovy blue and green flowers, a vintage green royal typewriter, a chipped lady head vase and a few really cool colorful vintage crewels☺️💕my sister has the merry mushroom clock that my grandpa gave her🥰
I'm definitely on the lookout for a hudson bay coat too - they're adorable! And I love the rainbow vibe, but I'd also take a 70's more psychadelic plaid rainbow coat 🤩 Haven't found any other than online when someone was displaying their gorgeous collection. It's way too easy for me to justify a big cost when it's something I find super beautiful LOL!
So interesting! Thanks for sharing. I don’t own anything valuable that I know of but I have a personal obsession with tins that look like buildings. I just got one that looks like a haberdasher with mice making the hats in the windows 🥹
Wonderful video. I have never seen the owl blow mold patio lights before but OMG I am going to have those for sure! Something else fun to collect is the old tin recipe boxes.
That Marshmallow tin is on my list! 😍 A Hudson Bay blanket is also on my wish list! I saw what looked like a Hudson Bay coat at the Farm Girl Flea Market: Christmas at Countryside Greenhouse in Allendale. Maybe you can contact them and they will have the contact information for who had it! Fabricscout out of Lowell always has the paint by numbers on her website and also has a booth at the Found Cottage in Hudsonville. I recently saw some of the Galaxy Syrup bottles at an antique store in Mason, Timeless Treasures.
Hi, I have a huge yo-yo quilt I bought years ago but never knew the value. What or where is the best way to get top dollar for it and several others I have collected over 20 years. As a picker, I know a little of a lot of items but are more famous liar with others than some…..like quilts! Love your very informative video. Thank you!
You popped up on Pinterest, so I followed. Then you popped up on RUclips, in recommended videos, so I subscribed. Love your energy. The broken black part on your lady head vase, I believe, is the bottom of her glove. Her hand would've been somewhere around her chin, most likely. My mother did a crewelwork piece, similar to the one you showed, back in the 70s. It hung in our livingroom. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. : )
Oh Diana it was fate that we met! Thank you SO much for answering my question I’ve had for months about what belongs on that lady head vase 😄 thanks for following me on RUclips and Pinterest, I appreciate your kindness!
I just picked up a vintage jadeite spice shaker with the little scottie dog with red bow, which is my favorite jadeite collection. $2.50 at my local charity shop- too bad it was the only piece they had! I have a chalkware doggie, too. I really want that Haunted Mansion record but flipping through boxes upon boxes of records is tiring and dizzying so I may never find it in the wild!
Thanks for sharing so much information on these items. I love Thrifting & I have passed these items & now I will keep my eye out for you. Maybe you can have an amazing community that DM’s & barter what people are missing from there set. Like maybe someone has a lid only & you have the Pyrex bowl you can trade for something they may be searching for. Meet ups & swaps could be so much fun. Maybe you are already doing that but what a great idea! I’m searching for a Barbie case & I saw one in some of your garage sale videos it was exactly what I want. But now with the Barbie movie it will be much harder to find. Great video thanks for all the inspiration. Mariaknits27 💃🏻💕🛍️
Here's something I hope folks read, before throwing this item away! If you happen to still have that old, beat-up rubber soccer ball you used in your soccer games between 1965 and 1982, DONT THROW IT AWAY, it could be worth some money.
WHY? Because if it was used in soccer games, then there's a high probability it had a thin polyurethane rubber carcass (not thick vulcanized rubber). So, if you got one, and it's very worn (forget about it holding air, this is not important right now), and it was used in soccer games over 40-50 years ago, than it could possibly put at least (I said at least) $100 in your pocket. Here's the details. Size 5 Very worn (don't worry about it being flat) Was game used in late 1960s / 1970s (not a backyard kickball) Does not have "dry rot". Minimum $100 for each ball! Who would have ever thought old rubber soccer balls could be worth anything!

Being in Canada, I’ll keep my eye out for the coat for you! ❤️

My grandfather had a pendleton coat with that same striped motif! My parents still have it but it got damaged in their basement.

Love it all!
Omg ! The crewel work pieces I found a bunch for FREE !!!! A local shop donated all kinds of fabric
Woah what an awesome free score!!! 😄💕
Emily, I will keep my eyes open for you and your wishlist items, when I go to yard sales. Vintage Fiesta pottery is still very collectible.
Aw that’s so sweet of you, thank you! Vintage fiesta ware is soooo adorable and another great colorful item 😄🌈
It just warms my heart. Lovely💚
Thanks, Martha 😄💕

Thanks so much, Trena ☺️💕
I have one of those rugs and several of the items you mentioned in the video

Loved this video! I usually go to local thrift stores but this makes me want to check out more estate sales and flea markets.
Oh yes definitely try those out! Estate sales and fleas are my favorite ☺️

Great score on the jadeite! 😄 Yeah I don’t think I’d ever find the haunted mansion record in the wild, I bought it on eBay 😂

Do you own any of these items? What other items belong on this list? 😊
I have made seven yoyo quilts in my life.
Here's something I hope folks read, before throwing this item away!

It’s missing her gloved hand
