My mom was one of the original 31 dealers at RoundTop, in the Rifle Hall. Red Barn came years later. My family did the shows for over 50 years until my Mom and sister died and I moved to Mexico. My how those shows have grown. It was a real blast growing up in antiques world and it is so nice to see young people enjoying antiques!
Also, please warn him about the Leon Fontier piece please because it might be pewter and not silver, so depending on what it was made there may be lead , but I think it may be more modern than that. I hope we will see you in another video soon!
I live only about an hour and a half away from Round Top. I started going to Round Top about 20ish years ago when I first got out of high school. It’s insane to see all these “influencers” talk about going now. And it’s always been a packed show but it’s so busy now. It’s crazy to see how much it’s grown.
❤ I loved seeing those buildings going up in the 80s. What a super wonderful wonderland Round Top has been all these years. I’m so grateful for people like your mother who made it grand.
This is Grandma from Texas. You were real close to our little farm. You have great taste I absolutely love your channel. I have been subscribed for a couple of years. I absolutely love the lamp you found. It certainly is one of a kind and looks fabulous in your home. Next time you come to Texas you should stay on our farm. We have a darling little Craftsman style cottage and my son has his barndonium. We have a garden and soon chickens and cows. I would love to get ideas from you for my craftsman cottage 😳😘. In any case I’m glad you had a good time in Texas. Texas is wonderful
I’m a Texan n have been shopping at the Round Top antique fair for over 30 yrs. I refuse to pay an entrance fee so I’ve never been to BigBRed barn or Marburger Farms. On that note, I’ve always found the greatest treasures n prices in Warrenton specifically Tree Hide Park, Zenck Hall, Zapp Hall, Bar W Field, Sommerby, The Gin, Excess I & II and Cole’s! We literally just came back on Mar 22 with a truckload of items. Other than Blue Hills n The Compound, we don’t patronize any curated barn spaces bc the prices are just way too high for our budget.
I love that you are decorating your home with antique and vintage finds. The warmth and history of pre-loved items really make a house a home and give it a one-of-a-kind look you could never get from new big box décor.
You should maybe do some diys inspired by round top! I think that cupboard with the circle doors, your cool frame and maybe a simplified tramp art box or tray or something!
Tip: Take or buy (I’ve done both) an extra suitcase or duffel bag for purchases. You might have to check the bag …so pack carefully. I’ve taken two antique rocking horses, a whirligig, a hanging cupboard. You can deconstruct a piece, label or number it, wrap well and either mail home or take it with you.
The pewter vase is a beautifully stylized corn cob with the smooth part is the husk and the little dots are the corn cernnels. You are so lucky to have found it!!!!
Drew, if you are ever inspired to travel to the upper Midwest, there are four huge flea markets in MN; Wright County Swappers Meet in South Haven, Oronoco Gold Rush Days is the 3rd weekend in August, the All American Flea Market at the Olmstead County Fairgrounds in Rochester (home of the Mayo Clinic) is every Sunday April through Oct. and the Stillwater Flea Market in Stillwater where Jessica Lange is said to have sourced a lot of the antiques for her Stillwater home. MN has tons of flea markets, but the above four are the all-stars.
Round top is amazing. I live in Houston and it's just about 1 1/2 hr to Round top. But living so close I like to go when it's not Round Top week. Not near as much stuff but you can still find some amazing things and it's a day trip for me. Next year you might try to stay an extra day and just drive around the back roads around there bc it's bluebonnet season all over most of Texas. You can see fields and fields of bluebonnets and other wild flowers just as far as you can see. It's gorgeous!! Love your channel.
I love Antique Week! I used to go twice yearly for about 20 plus years but haven’t been able to go since 2018 when my husband became disabled. I used to find so many wonderful things. It was our twice yearly girls trip and we were so crazy. Seeing you go was so much fun.
Has anyone ever been to the Brimfield Antique and flea market extravaganza in Massachusetts ? It's always amazing . They have it 3 times a year . Spring , summer and fall . several hundred vendors out in a field . 50,000 people attend yearly . rain or shine . It will remind you of Woodstock when the paths turn into 8 inch mud ..and your shoes are destroyed
A fun adventure, Drew! You got lovely items. That final silver bud vase is very much like one my mother had, seeing it brought back beautiful memories of me as a child picking one bloom of paper white narcissus and placing it in that vase. It is good to hear you are spending lots of time with little Winston. Such a good puppy daddy you are!
I love the frame and would have grabbed this one for sure! Also another buy, is the carved bamboo mirror, I've always wanted one. What a venue to visit, I'd be hopeless, but then couldn't get it home to Australia! 😄🦘
Round top is not for the weak of heart. I was never so tired in my life as I was the weekend we spent there. :) You could rent a truck, fill it up, and drive it back to LA! (Or hire it done. :) ) There is just so much to want there!
Lvoe it - so funny - I'm a lifelong Texan and the last time I went to Round Top - it was still a sleepy town with just a great restaurant !!!! Wow how times have changed!
I'm so glad you got that beautiful carved frame even thought the art work does not do it justice. . It is so easy to change out the art is it will look stunning around pretty much any kind of art.
I love the round top show (I grew up and still live in Central Texas, and my parents took me almost every year as a kid). Unfortunatley, as an adult the internet has made the show so popular that the prices for the antiques sold there are generally well over both market value and my budget. I have gone as a vendor with the chartiy I volunteer with, Austin Creative Reuse (we provide affordable art, school, office, and fabric supplies for all by taking donations and sorting and cleaning them, like Goodwill, except our landfill diversion rate is 98% compared to Goodwill's 40-60%). Sometimes high values antiques get donated and we save the best ones to sell at the show (though the very best ones often get bought by the volunteers. Volunteers don't get discounts, but we can call dibs)
Thank you for taking us along! I’ve heard of Round Top for years but I always thought it was all higher priced items. After watching this, I don’t know how you could help feeling completely overwhelmed. I would be afraid not to buy something in case it would be gone later but torn about making a decision when I haven’t been able to the rest of what is still out there. The brass mirror is stunning. You always have the radar to find uniqueness. Please remember to give us a peek at Winston. Is he being a naughty boy or just a rambunctious toddler?
what a wonderful trip. How fun. Drew, will you link your flea market cart, if you're able. I've been looking for so long in Canada, finally found one that folds like yours, but is so heavy. I'm sure the way you handle yours there must be lighter versions, but I'm not finding one. They would be so handy. Love all your purchases. ty
I live in Austin and I've been going to round top since 2012ish? It's definitely become a lot more expensive and curated/commercialized. My memories of how it used to be were like the tents in the fields but that was scattered throughout the town and the neighboring towns too, just like hodgepodge between buildings! It wasn't as fancy but it was a great spot for deals, really shabby chic when that was big. It makes me sad personally to see it change but I love that more people are getting to experience it!
I can not believe you were in my neck of the woods, the 1 year I missed Warrenton, tx. If I would have met you out there, in passing, I would have offered to buy ya a sweet tea. Love your videos, your talent and personality. I commented on your hair, once you let it go sloppy. (Don't we all?) Because, I love the neat look, you rock your own style. Love ya, Texan granny. Hope ya do come back, it is open 2 times a year. Hot as hell in the summer but still fun.
So glad that you allowed us to 'go' shopping with you...there are so many gorgeous furniture pieces there...absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! I would love to actually go there someday. I absolutely ❤️ love that one mirror you purchased...it has so much classic character. Love it !!!! And I love the (mushroom) lamp that you put on your credenza...it gives such a warm glow. Thank you for allowing us to tag along on your trip. I hope to actually go someday...maybe my .other might go with me...I would love that...she has such impeccable taste.
Hi hear you well! Welcome to Texas! I live right down the street. I hope you were able to visit The Junk Gypsy Girls. They also have a lot of antiques and fun stuff . Your finds are so awesome and my favorite is your mirror. Thanks again for sharing and see ya in your next video. ❤
It's much harder to follow your designs with your Spanish home 😢 But still awesome to watch you work your magic! Absolutely stunning work! Thanks for sharing
That stunning German brass lamp with the glass shade looks like it was made in the late1920's--1940's. I hope you will do a google image search to try to find out more about it. I think it was a very expensive lamp, even when it was new. Great find. You really have a good eye for design.
Hi Drew, I love your videos! I wanted to let you know about the drawing in the carved black frame. It’s called a blind contour drawing and it’s done by the artist not looking at the paper. It’s basically an exercise people do at art class, but sometimes they come out really cool
I love your new home so fricking much. 🏡 I even got my boyfriend hooked on your videos. He’s usually letting ME know when you have uploaded something new. Hence why I’m SO early! 🌞 Can’t wait for spring and to start antique shopping! 🛒 🎉❤
I have gone to Round Top for both the Spring and Fall Shows every year since 2018. I have yet to see everything. The fields are in the Warrenton area and that's the place to go for deals and is open for 2-3 weeks. Marburger and Big Red Barn are the only venues that charge an entry fee and are only open for a short amount of time. The "fancy venues" are great to visit for inspiration. When in Warrenton you can park at one of the venues and walk to so many places to hunt for deals. Happy Hunting!
It was fun going along with you Drew. There were so many beautiful things, I was drawn to wood furniture and I noticed so many great pieces. The brass lamp you chose is really cool.
I would have immediately grabbed those yellow marble/stone (?) doorknobs at that 1st booth in the Field. GORGEOUS!!! I'll never have enough money to go to these events....basically because I'd want to purchase everything in sight, but as a Texan.....Welcome to the best little country on earth! So glad you came to visit us 💖💖💖
I'm so jealous! I love antique shows! If I could, I would travel around and go to antique shows, thrift stores, and estate sales full time for the rest of my life! L❤VE IT! 😃
Thanks so much for showing all this beautiful decor at Round Top. Something I would never be able to see otherwise and they are all items I couldn’t imagine you would find for sale. Love this.
I love the mushroom lamp. I normally don’t like the shape. But that glass top was amazing. And the mirrors were great. You have such good taste in everything you buy. That looked like a great place. I would go broke there. And my house is really small. I’m now mainly buying things I can hang on the wall. I did buy a big basket with handles at an antique mall near me. I’m not sure where I’m putting that.
That was fun! I always wanted to travel to RoundTop and have vicariously enjoyed other RUclipsrs' shopping adventures there. Each person has their own unique taste and style, so it's fun to follow. You have great taste, and brought home some lovelies!
I wish I had known you were going! My parents live in the area so I have been attending Roundtop for 40 years or more. If you want bargains you have to go earlier than antique week. The dealers who are shopping show up a couple of weeks before antique week and scoop up the deals.

They are open every first Monday weekend of the month. (Canton Trade Days) They have rows of places and you need to take a free bus to hit the other areas. Such a cool place to go.

Just what I needed today: a LONE FOX video !!!
That huge bust on the credenza behind you is really eye-catching. Another great find.
It is my absolute dream to go to Round Top with a big wad of cash and an empty shipping container on standby. Love all your finds.
That pewter vase is a gem. Love it!

I met Drew inside of Bill Moore antiques in Round top on the first day! He’s very sweet in person. It was so nice meeting you!!!
You can never go wrong with a good quality mirror.

I love that you take us to all the fun places you shop!
I shop vicariously thru you! You (we) got some amazing pieces! 😘
Drew Drew Drew. That artwork in the beautiful black frame, you said was a little odd, I have a lot of them. My grandchildren drew them. LOL 😂
I love the frame and would have grabbed this one for sure! Also another buy, is the carved bamboo mirror, I've always wanted one. What a venue to visit, I'd be hopeless, but then couldn't get it home to Australia! 😄🦘
😂 You were a total crow at Marburger, whiplash from all the shiny things. “Have you ever seen a chair like.... - SCALLOPED SOFA!!!” 😂
Love it when you take us to the markets with you! So many beautiful pieces I don’t know how you can decide.
Your enthusiasm was making me smile all the way through.
I’ve been there. Sad to say I was only there one day, would love to go back.

Wow! The mother load of fabulous things! How cool to be there. Thanks for taking us along.
I WAS THERE AND I HAD MY EYES OPEN FOR YOU AND MACENNA JUST IN CASE 😆🤍
I am a boomer and I have done a lot of antique shopping but have never seen anything like those copper lamps.
Welcome to Texas! I hope you enjoyed your trip! Your house is lovely!
I'm so glad you got that beautiful carved frame even thought the art work does not do it justice. . It is so easy to change out the art is it will look stunning around pretty much any kind of art.
OMG The Junk Gypsy's have a store in Round Top.
The puppy stage is always a challenge but it will get easier. ❤

Thank you Drew for taking us on this wonderful antique journey! I just loved it so much! Great items to see and your purchases were awesome! ❤❤
Love all the things you got. They will all look great in your house. It will add more beautiful to the beautiful that's already there.

Round Top is the best, isn’t it? I hope you took lots of photos for your own DIYs! Next time fly down and rent a U-Haul to take back home, lol!

I would LOVE to go to Round Top for the antique festivals back in the day! It was a JOB to walk all those booths! But some amazing finds!

When you said you were in Round Top, I nodded to my entry table, and reminded it, "that's where you came from lovely". My table was pleased. Lol

Beautiful and thanks for sharing !!
Thank you for taking us along so see all these goodies :)

Hey guys, Drew that was an interesting change up.🤩
Love Round Top, thank you for expanding our options to shop.
Also great idea for a road trip!😍
I love your new home so fricking much. 🏡 I even got my boyfriend hooked on your videos. He’s usually letting ME know when you have uploaded something new. Hence why I’m SO early! 🌞 Can’t wait for spring and to start antique shopping! 🛒 🎉❤

I love the lamp!
There's something for everybody at Roundtop, glad you found some treasures.
Thanks Drew. That was a feast for the eyes and the soul
Oooh that mushroom lamp…just stunning! 😍
I felt exactly the same… a little $$ but fun to see and the people watching was fantastic!! Hahaha
So glad you came to visit us 💖💖💖
Tip, put your carry on in a large empty suitcase on your way out then coming back you have a suitcase to check and a carry on
Fill that large suitcase
that cabinet 5:24 😍 all that beautiful furniture makes me wish I was making 3 figures
I loved those distressed brown leather chairs too, but I also just wanted to slather them up with leather conditioner.
Love the lamp too! And the brass mirror, stunning 😍
I'm so jealous! I love antique shows! If I could, I would travel around and go to antique shows, thrift stores, and estate sales full time for the rest of my life!
L❤VE IT! 😃
Omg that lamp is everything!!!
Thanks so much for showing all this beautiful decor at Round Top. Something I would never be able to see otherwise and they are all items I couldn’t imagine you would find for sale. Love this.
Thank you for recording your trip
I’ve always wanted to go and its so nice to see what they have
You find the most beautiful items ❤. ❤
That lamp. So. Good. ❤
Really fun video! Love that this was different from others. Glad to hear another reno is coming soon, too! Yay!
That was fun! I always wanted to travel to RoundTop and have vicariously enjoyed other RUclipsrs' shopping adventures there. Each person has their own unique taste and style, so it's fun to follow. You have great taste, and brought home some lovelies!
Now you need to plan a trip to Brimfield antique show in Massachusetts. People come from all over the world!
Stunning lamp ! What a gorgeous find !
I wish I had known you were going! My parents live in the area so I have been attending Roundtop for 40 years or more. If you want bargains you have to go earlier than antique week. The dealers who are shopping show up a couple of weeks before antique week and scoop up the deals.
No way!!! I would’ve loved and been shocked to see you there! It’s my mom and I’s tradition to go every season! 🥰🥰
The Chateau is looking great, and I can not wait for the next update.
Great to see a skilful family, another helpful hand in restoring the chateau.
Your reactions to a great find are the best. ❤❤❤
You should hit Salado, Belton and Temple next time you’re here in Texas. Biggest place to hit is Canton which is west of Tyler. You can see their schedule online. They are open every first Monday weekend of the month. (Canton Trade Days) They have rows of places and you need to take a free bus to hit the other areas. Such a cool place to go.
I recognized those Danish chairs in your thumbnail, lovely finds😊👀
Loved the mushroom lamp. The best.
