My mom and I hit up three yard sales and a thrift store and I'm sharing her antique haul and my vintage haul. I scored TWO amazing vintage items and for such a good price too. The act of kindness I do the most is paying for and elderly person or someone who seem to be struggling groceries. And giving your people that are sackers or gather the backers at a store a nice tip. Telling them I’m proud that they are getting money the right way. Stay on the right path. Yield not unto evil temptation. ❤. You deserve kindness.

I love all the items! I love collecting too, but the best part of the video is the kitty!!!! She will definitely become your cat!! It won't take too much longer as she is not as skittish as a ferrel cat born ferrel. Someone must have dropped her off. She has been doing so well living by her wits. I am so happy you are now there to help her find meals easily. She is going to make the most fabulous pet. I bet she is a loud talker. Siamese cats love to talk, she will be the best company. I can't wait for her to be more trusting of you. It will happen. 😊
I don’t know, I only show the parts where she isn’t scared half the death or running away. My hopes are really low that she’ll ever let me touch her because she’s quite scared. If I ever get to it will be a happy surprise. The cat is my favorite part of the video too 🤣

I can’t believe you didn’t snag the Barbie cases! I totally would have grabbed those. In fact, in April, I paid $14 for one at Vintage Market Days (yes, I am a sucker). Love the hotel wall plates, the pots, the Pyrex, the floor lamp, and I couldn’t agree with you more: I hate yard sales without prices!
I have a few Barbie cases already so I’m really particular ☺️ glad you got one though 😄
That lamp is amazing! I think the bottom vase was probably for some plastic flowers or plants. Good luck with Blossom!

Obsessed with the floor lamp. I think the bottom was for a small lightbulb. You could put plastic vintage flowers in it.
You scared yourself with the lamp! Lol! I think it's my favorite of everything you got, because I know you love it so much. Don't let it scare you anymore, though. Sweet Blossom. We have a cat that was a stray. Holly used to hang out in the area in front of our apartment, and sometimes let me pet her. I started to feed her because she looked pretty skinny. I think it was last Dec., there was a rare really cold night, and she ran inside when I opened the door. She's been with us ever since. I hope your new friend warms up to you. It would be so cute to have her sit by you on the glider while you talk to us.🐱

That video brought me ridiculous joy from beginning to end. To see somebody get as much excitement out of “treasure hunting as I do…the flowers and the story….and Blossom! As an older lady who has worked with feral cats for many many years, you are making wonderful progress! If she gets close enough and will eat with you sitting there the next step I would suggest is sitting on the floor with some type of smelly, yummy wet food and first see if she’ll take it off a spoon. Baby food is irresistible but pricey. They also have the little tubes in the cat food aisle (I saw those in the dollar store this week).
I don’t want to be preachy, but if Blossom is indeed a girl, you’re gonna need a plan for spaying her. They can have kittens every 4 months in spring summer. There may be a feral cat spay neuter program in your area, which often offers it free for ferals. I used to run a program like that. Happy to provide “feral cat counseling” if needed.
Oh, and the Pyrex. Definitely the Pyrex. Last week I followed a woman in a thrift store waiting for her to put down the most beautiful giant 70s sewing box. Lime green and yellow. When she finally decided she didn’t want it I swooped in and thought “oh, Emily would be so proud!”. $4.98!!
Omg that sounds like an amazing find!!! So I think Blossom might have recently had kittens because she lost a ton of weight over night. I don’t want to move her in case there’s kittens around. I’ll have to look into a free place near me that might help. Thanks for the suggestion and I’m hoping I might be able to get her inside!

When I caught a glimpse of that lamp I was like PLEASE TELL ME SHE GOT THE LAMP! Yay! I'm glad that you and your mom had such a great time and found so many fun things for great prices. You never know with yard sales, they can be just a tv tray of baby clothes, or a treasure trove of grubby vintage! I'm glad you are making such great progress with Blossom! 💜

The lamp is fabulous. It would be $250+ where I live. I grew up in the 70’s and love/collect the daisy Pyrex, the vintage flat sheets and pillowcases and love all the bright colors. I also starting carrying a pink old school sewing tape measure in my purse. Great channel. Keep ‘em coming. You do a fine job!

As a decorator, I would put a faux plant in the vase thing at the bottom of your new lamp. Looks fun so happy for you.

Another thing we have in common.
I am into a lot of the sixties and seventies kitschy and bright colored stuff.
My kitchen is literally yellow, orange, green and Brown vintage. In my house has a lot of old mushrooms and towels and just cutesy stuff.
Whereas my mom is also into The primitives big-time and the Antiques and vintage Christmas and bears and all of that.
My parents bought and partially renovated our house in the 80s. My mom picked out this obscenely almost neon bright orange countertop to go around our sink and on the sides of the sink. I thought this was the coolest thing ever but growing up my mom always kind of hated it in a way. But it was affordable since it was leftovers from the 70s.
We also had an enormously large vintage microwave that was still working a decade ago.
It's really interesting to have differing styles within the same family.
It really does make it all the more interesting going to shops and sales.
The countertop sounds amazing 🤣🤣🤣 yes I agree it’s also nice when you don’t like the same stuff so you don’t reach for the same vintage items!
I could have sworn you would have picked up the yellow Tupperware container. That lamp!!! WOW! Only $10 for the Pyrex bowl? Give me the address. LOL The poppy field planted by the couple in memory of their son was so touching.

The lamp for sure, the daisy Pyrex is cute but very easy to find in Ontario Canada. Love poppy field here poppies are for Remembrance Day so very fitting and moving tribute to their son

I knew you got the lamp. I think it looks 1940's. The Pyrex bowl is actually Spring Blossom, great find.
Maybe the thing at the bottom had a bulb and a flat frosted glass cover of some sort to illuminate the lamp upwards. It's a beauty and a Google lens search isn't showing me anything like it. Maybe an electrician can check the wiring and see if it took a bulb?

The Spring Blossom fairies must have been smiling upon both of us....because I found THE SAME BOWL recently!! Maybe around the same time you found yours? Yes, of course I bought it! Mine was $12. We are the luckiest gals! Also I ADORE those enamel pans. They are so hard to find now, especially at a great price like that.

Yeah, I also don't dig it when people don't price their items in their garage sales. As I've commented before, I'm a new subscriber & I totally found this interesting.......the items you picked up were things that I was eye-balling when watching! Love the garage sale/thrift store haul content!
I'm sure someone answered about the lamp.. but is it a 3-way lamp where you turn the switch up to 3 times for 1, 2 or 3 lights. I think that bottom piece is for an up-light. It wouldn't put off light for reading or anything but accent lighting. Also since the switch is on the base can it possibly be pushed and not turned (like by your toes so you don't bend to turn it on?)just some ideas lol.
It only has four settings, left light, right light, both, and off. So I don’t think the middle is a light sadly. So I’m thinking I’ll try one of those foot presser buttons you can buy as an extension cord. I have one that I use for my Christmas tree and I’m going to see if that’ll work 🤷🏼♀️🤣

Oh, my gosh. When you are flipping through those books at the antique mall I saw one of my favorite books when I was a kid in the seventies: Two on an Island. My second grade teacher read it to the class. 😊

It took me a full year to socialize my rescue feral Willy. You are smart to call her by her name so she learns it. As she learns she can come closer and closer, she will let you know if she wants more. There seemed to be some banging when she came up to the open door, that may have made her turn away. Let her decide the timing. I think you are getting a cat. 😂🎉

I have given up on yard sales in my area (zero vintage, all used baby toys and worn out ugly crock shoes). The only good yard sales are the ones I do! Speaking of that, how did your sale go? I was hoping you were going to do a video of it. I absolutely LOVE that lamp! And the befriending of Blossom is so fun. She is a real cutie. Could be me but she looked a little round in the belly ( check out at 25:40 mark) ...like a belly of kittens. So you might be seeing your future cats! 😺😺😺😺😺😺

I'm so with you about the pricing thing. I'm a lot less likely to even bother asking because it's so awkward when they tell you a price that is way more than you were willing to pay even if it's completely reasonable - since my "I don't need this at all, but I love it and it's cheap" price is usually about $3 or less...

That spring blossom bowl is my favorite item you got! About 10 years ago I had a LARGE Pyrex collection and had the whole spring blossom collection! I sold off 93% of my Pyrex to help fund both of our kids adoptions! There are so many pieces I wish I still had and the spring blossom is one of those! I did keep the Big Bertha but over the last year, I’ve started collecting again and I’ve managed to find a few of the round casseroles! I would have been ecstatic to find that bowl!! It’s such a happy and cheerful print! The pink and turquoise is always pretty and fun when I find them but the green spring blossom, and the variant crazy daisy, are two of my absolute favs!!!!

I love the crazy Daisy Pyrex. I bought the 3 piece set (large, medium, small) from Goodwill a couple years ago for $12! I use it almost every day!

Love the gnome with his butt up in the air. The hotel items were very interesting. Those pots are very cool. I suspected you would get the floor lamp if the price was right. I think I have seen artificial flowers in the bottom of lamps like those but been too long ago to recall accurately. Good deal on the bowl! Look at you…dressing to match the flowers…really nice! My fav…your gifted dress and story!
I could totally see fake flowers going into the bottom, great suggestion! 😄 and I looked up the hotel the key is from and it got blown up 🤯 so cool I got a piece of a forgotten hotel!
