- I can't believe I get to say this but I landed my dream job as a full-time content creator! I say oops because I went to volunteer at the Kalamazoo Nature Center but ended up finding the best place to work ever. Trying to find a new job is hard but finding one without a college degree is even harder. Today, I'm talking all about my new social media marketing position, the interview process, and what I did to get an interview in the first place. I'm also sharing my social media manager cover letter, resume, portfolio, and idea list that I brought to my interview to help you if you're looking for a job right now.

I always look forward to Tuesday evenings and my simple pleasure of your positivity and optimism. You have truly re-sparked my love of thrifting and decorating with vintage treasures. The other day I went to the thrift store and bought two vintage sheets. It wasn’t until I got home and was watching an older video that I realized I had bought the exact sheets you used in your living room curtains and in the backing of your little white hanging kitchen display/shelf! I was so darn proud of myself. My heart hurt to hear you were going through some tough times. But I believe in you and believe you are going to land on your feet.

I think they key to keeping THIS RUclips channel going is to film your routines - shopping, cooking, crafting, gardening, etc - and just NOT stress about all the editing and production. We want to see YOU! Blips and bloopers don't matter at all.

You go girl! Networking works wonders but putting the effort in to tailoring your resume to your dream job gets you to the interview. Your attention you put in to preparing for the interview and your enthusiasm sealed the deal. Do great things in your new job and remember to share you love of what you do to help others in the field.

Also: while I do look forward and have notifications for your videos, I’m happy to get content from you twice a month or randomly, than not at all! Congratulations, Emily! To answer your questions: I do look forward to your videos! And a lot of the people I follow post 1-2 times per month (the same day of the week) so if the pace is difficult for you, then slow it down!
Also, I like a mix of videos. I also follow Hamimommy and like how sometimes she posts about the house she’s building, other times it’s “clean with me”, etc. My favorite videos of yours are the holiday storage video, the “shop with me” at antique stores or flea markets, and the craft room organizing video. Day in the life videos are fun, too, even if it’s literally just catching up on chores. Can’t wait to see what direction you take your channel!

I would totally look forward to weekly video’s… you could also do videos of: random outings-like music in the park, vintage car shows, farmers markets, meals from vintage cookbooks. Maybe do educational videos on helping others learn about how to better use social media to improve their side hustle’s “brand” (ehm… it’s me, I want your help)
Do a collaboration with other content creators or attend one of those “do something events”… or better yet host a live craft/vintage upcyle event locally ❤❤❤

Personally, I love vintage shopping, garage sale videos. But, even though you have a job now, you still have to control your spending. In case you need a large car repair or something. You have to have some money saved. Garage sales have vintage stuff and usually for cheap. I don’t know if they are easy ones to edit.
Hanging out the clothes were ok. But if something had to go maybe that would be something to drop. But if you have to do that stuff anyway. That’s easy. I will watch it to support you for the times when I will get to see more of the vintage stuff.
I love all your clothes. For some of us new subscribers. I would just love to see your wardrobe for spring/summer and fall/winter and some of the stories behind them.
Of course the holiday around the house is so cool. This year will be different and exiting.
Em, as a former Associate Director in nursing I was always asked why do you take so long to interview staff. I wanted to hire caring, authentic and committed people. Skills can be taught a lot easier than undoing lazy, disengaged people with bad attitudes that have a Master’s Degree.
I loved seeing people excited by life! And if you came in having looked how you could make the improvements in the job you were applying for!!!! Gasp 😱.
You got the call on Friday instead of Monday because they didn’t want you to have an opportunity to interview anywhere else!!! I would have done the same thing. So nice of you to share this with others and encourage them.

oops! forgot to say, "yes" I look forward to your weekly you tube videos. I would miss them and miss catching up on all the things you do that inspire me. Maybe if they seem like too much to do, cut them in half. Meaning, instead of a 23-25 minute video, make a 14 to 15 minute video. Just a thought. You CAN do both, as we have all come to know - you are a superwoman!

Recent subscriber to your channel and applaud the wisdom of the group that interviewed and then hired you. You seem very enthusiastic and genuinely kind so think you will be a great asset. A little sad you might not be putting out as many videos but one of my other favorites (Veni Vidi Vintage) rarely posts but when he does, be still my heart. I love vintage so anything involving vintage is what I like viewing.
Make sure when you take pictures of people using the trails and business, that you have permission to use their picture and name. A business I worked for once got sued big time by not getting permission first to use pictures of people. Also, a sign should be up stating that there will be media video/pictures around the center and on the trails. Congratulations on your dream job!

Honestly, whatever kind of videos you want to put out, in whatever timeline is just fine. And if you are doing a big project, you could make it a series of videos, it doesn't have to be start to finish in one video. Aren't baby groundhogs the cutest? Just a round ball of fur! I read that groundhogs have several different "homes" for different times of the year, and use them over and over each year. I can hear them talking to their friends, "Oh, we summer in Emily's Yard! The food is superb, and the water is always fresh!" 😁
