Can we just talk about how you are living in paradise! When my son was little we called dandelions Wishies lol and he is now 23 and he STILL calls them Wishies to this day 😉
Omg Emily! You’re living in a novel!!! The glorious orchard and gardens ( those flowers are going to add so much color to your home), the antique cemetery, the beautiful bees, that gorgeous dress (you earthly goddess you!), the incredible nature and wildlife surrounding you, and all the potential with the clothesline and other areas getting dug up and tended to!! It’s all so incredible and I’m thrilled for you! And your loving heart making the planters for those you love. ❤❤ I’m with you on that toad thing… nice but, yuck! Your reaction mirrored mine and I had such a chuckle. Thanks for sharing so candidly and so lovingly. Enjoying every minute! Blessings always, in all ways! 😘
The surroundings are so beautiful! The garden is going to be fantastic in full bloom. I can just imagine the golf cart lady 😁and hope she doesn't bug you all. Maybe she'll bring over cakes. Cemetery, forest, waterfall, apple orchard, ghost, nosy neighbour, spiders, clothes fluttering in the breeze, an elusive cat, stolen bowls hidden in a mystery animal lair.... that's a 3-part mini series waiting to be written 😂
This is such a dreamy property. I didn't think it could get better and then you showed the old cemetery!! I'm absolutely jealous, as someone who lives in town, it's my dream to have that much open space around me. (Also the dress looks like it was made just for you, it's adorable!) Good luck with your new cat and bird friends!
Your dress is stunning on you!! Loooove the green 💚 So happy for you that you’re feeling more at home. It’s incredibly beautiful there!! I absolutely love walking in cemeteries, especially very old ones. Victorians used to have picnics in them and I think we should bring that back.
And I say to you as Harry did to Ron "I think it's brilliant!" Your new place is just amazing with so many surprises and personality. I am super stoked about that cemetery 👻👻 and those spindly trees! I would consider getting a motion sensor camera (with recording feature aka a "ring" camera) to find out what's living in that hovel! You actually may be surprised to see all the sorts of nature that lives just outside your door!
You think my bowls in there? Haha you made me laugh out loud 😂I love your new yard! How lovely! It’s going to be so nice when all the yard junk is gone. So happy for you!
Emily!!!!!! your new home is MAGICAL!!!!! apple blossoms, and forget-me-nots and peonies and a kitty. and, oh my heck, all those lilacs. Plus the birds and their songs. Plus a clothes line! you wee meant to live here.
Blossom and Marigold! Aawwww such sweet names! Either a raccoon or a possum took off with those bowls. It happens at my house all the time (I’m in NY) And that big hole might be a woodchuck… My mom and I just went to a peonie tour at this old historic house with lush gardens full of peonie trees. The air smelled so good and so many shades of pink and purple blossoms. Yes that lilac tree looks like it’s 100 years old! Beautiful! I’m a little jelly belly here! Love the old cemetery. Did you notice they put on them the exact amount of time they lived? 38 years, 5 months and 2 weeks and 1 day🤣lol
😂😂😂. Like family when they visit and they take your Tupperware containers 😂. Yes maybe it’s inside that lil cave. Everything is so beautiful. Thank for sharing 🌿🦋🌿
Pretty sure that hole was made by a groundhog. The apple orchard and the gardens around the house are so beautiful! And I definitely think that you can reclaim that clothes line if you prune back the shrubs.
I'm so envious in a good way of your cozy little spot in the country. I DREAM of a cute old home with all of those established plants, trees etc. Country living definitely has its surprises. You'll slowly learn to love all of the creatures. I learned to love opossums who would sneak on the porch to eat kitty food. There also something so calming to me about old cemeteries.
Hi Emily - Thank you for sharing a tour of your outdoor space. I think you're really going to love it. And I just know that soon you and the kitty will be fast friends. 😻
I dare you to go in that hole and get your bowl back.😂 How lucky are you?!? Such beautiful surroundings! And, you have peonies? My favorite! It looks like you're doing great. 😊
Old headstones can be beautiful. If you’re comfortable with the idea, you can make some rubbings and frame them in your house for free and unique art 😊
2 minutes in and already so many questions for you! Do the apple blossoms smell apple-y? What kind of apples will these be? 🍏 What an idyllic, bucolic place to live! The dress is GORGEOUS on you.
Hi Emily, I love love love lilac bushes, lily of the valley and peonies. I grew up in Massachusetts and had all of those in my yard, I really miss them since I live in Florida now. You reminded me of a 1950’s young girl with your pretty housecoat on hanging your laundry on a close line, so adorable, im so jealous, you are so sweet. Congratulations on your new home and beautiful back yard, I hope you make friends with the kittie, Rita❤❤❤
Ok I KNEW that dress was something special the second I saw it. Green is my favorite color too! We are very much the same when it comes to plants - I do NOT have a green thumb, but my mom is amazing at making things grow (my grandma was too). Before our cross country move back in 2021 I left a scraggly looking plant with my mom. We are back in Ohio now, and less than 2 years later she has grown that plant into something the size of 3 basketballs (couldn't come up with anything better to compare it to 😂). Thanks for the update on Aldi friend! I was kind of wondering. Also hoping I meet an Aldi friend someday. Hope she feels better soon!
Hi, Emily! Those were pansies, not violets you planted for your friend. The yard is going to be beautiful and lilacs in Michigan are the best smelling plant around! You are doing great! Your Michigan neighbor!🥰👍💜
What a beautiful place to live!!! 😍 I would definitely have a transition too because I’m not used to country living but all of the flowers and gardens look so nice! Is the apple farm still a thing? Like will you be getting visitors picking apples in your yard every season? Haha could be a fun and festive way to keep making friends 😜
You are living in the most beautiful place! I'm so happy for you. I have the same Peter Rabbit cabbage planter! Just love it....and you too! Thank you for sharing your new beginning with us!
Love your new home!! So beautiful, the Apple Orchid is so sweet, I've never seen apple blossoms either!! Thank you for sharing!!❤ love the green dress on you!!❤
This was a fun video! I was waiting for the lovely peonies! Those feel like a Michigan staple (for me) . And I adore cute little Blossom. I have a Siamese mixed I found outside of my work a few years back, and she is so sweet and cuddly! Hopefully Blossoms will be, too!
Wow! You have some very magical plants on that property😮 ones that are very hard to germinate. Enjoy & redo that garden sweetie. It will bring so much luck 🍀 your way ✨✨✨& Liliac you could make your own flower essences to use for perfume💕
Lovely, Emily! Suggestion for repurposing the map frames....i also live in an old house, built in 1915. In new england we have local historic societies that often have pictures of how homes/neighborhoods looked back in the day. Ive been able to get copies to hang in my home. Maybe u could do something like that 😏
I love your garden! With the blossoms and the great smelling plants like the lilac and lily of the valley ❤ and my favourite flowers the peony ❤I'm not an expert on American wildlife, I guess a raccoon took the bowl not sure what would live there 😅😅
WAY TO GO!!! Emily GREAT VIDEO...thanks for the tour...your garden has wonderful possibilities!! Wish I could help you declutter...like the reference to Land Girls...love 40's Victory Garden history....especially in England..such brave people. Also, like the Ron Weasley quote. 💚🌱⚘🌼😌
I love your new dress! Green is my favorite color too, but it's a bit out of my price range. I love your new place thus far. The orchard and cemetery are really cool. I'm a city girl who lives in the country too, my only complaint is all the bugs and snakes. Yuck! And Scary! I live in Oklahoma and we have ticks, mosquitoes, oh forgot about the scorpions, and snakes.
The dress is out of my price range too which is why I’ve never been able to have it, until they sent me it for free if I showed it on instagram. But the dress is so good, if I want another one I’d save up for it since it’s so well made. And I have not encountered snakes yet but good idea to prepare me 🤣🤣🤣 I agree the spiders are dreadful!
@emilyretro It looks really nice on you! I may have to try to sew myself a similar dress. I have heard that if you put mothballs in gallon jugs of water around your property it will help keep snakes away (I think I'm going to try it this year).
I’m so Jealous of the Peonies I have them and they won’t bloom 😢😢 I just don’t get it my neighbor has them also blooming like crazy every year.. 😡😡 😅 The yard is so pretty with all the flower’s you will get your hands in the soil and you will find a new peaceful place.😊
Oh nooooo! I have absolutely no advice because they’re just growing on their own 🤣 my neighbor did say she puts fertilizer on hers so maybe that helps?? I hope yours blooms soon!!
Can we just talk about how you are living in paradise! When my son was little we called dandelions Wishies lol and he is now 23 and he STILL calls them Wishies to this day 😉
An apple orchard AND a historic cemetery!?! I love it 😍
YESSSSS it’s a dream!!! 🤩

I love how you take joy in the smallest things,, a good lesson for all of us !!! Love the planters you made for your mom, your friend and yourself !
Awww thanks a bunch, Linda! The little things matter the most 🥹
Your dress is stunning on you!! Loooove the green 💚 So happy for you that you’re feeling more at home. It’s incredibly beautiful there!! I absolutely love walking in cemeteries, especially very old ones. Victorians used to have picnics in them and I think we should bring that back.
I had a fall picnic in a cemetery last year!!! I love doing that and I’ll have to do one in this cemetery soon 🤩 and thank you!
Your voice is sounding happier. That’s good to hear. Time and nature will help you heal.
Aw yeah I am feeling less stressed which helps a lot 😄
And I say to you as Harry did to Ron "I think it's brilliant!" Your new place is just amazing with so many surprises and personality. I am super stoked about that cemetery 👻👻 and those spindly trees! Oh my goodness! I’d be outside all the time there. How beautiful!!
Love seeing you work in your garden every bit as much as your home. Looks like Green Gables bliss.
So gorgeous. I enjoyed every second of this video. It was like hanging out with a friend I haven’t seen in a long time!
You think my bowls in there? Haha you made me laugh out loud 😂I love your new yard! How lovely! It’s going to be so nice when all the yard junk is gone. So happy for you!
Hahahahaha I love the idea of the yard monster using my bowl in its den 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m scared to see what’s in that hole 🤣

Your intro is so giving me Anne of Green Gables! Especially with that running off into the orchard!
Looks like a little paradise to me!
Totally 😭🌸

You find the coolest vintage items. That hamper!!!!❤❤
What a beautiful and serene backyard. How wonderful to have fragrant fresh flowers in the house every day.🌸🩷
Yes it’s truly magical 🥹😭
Pretty sure that hole was made by a groundhog. The apple orchard and the gardens around the house are so beautiful! And I definitely think that you can reclaim that clothes line if you prune back the shrubs.
I pray you find so much peace in that beautiful place!

What a beautiful green dress!
What a heavenly place this will be this season
I never wear gardening gloves. Need to feel the dirt. Of course my nails are a mess all summer!😂
Tree peonies are gorgeous!
I dare you to go in that hole and get your bowl back.😂 How lucky are you?!? Such beautiful surroundings! And, you have peonies? My favorite! It looks like you're doing great. 😊

Lots of apple pies

Your yard is fantastic. I would have fun exploring. Sure hope your missing bowl turns up! 😮
Hahaha if the yard monster is using it in its den, that would make me happy 🤣

YES I love the WW2 land girl history!!! The Land Girl show was awesome too 🤩
Baby steps 🤣🤣🤣
Where did you get your rainbow calftan from? It’s lovely!

I love your drying rack. Is that vintage or where did you buy it from?
I’m so Jealous of the Peonies I have them and they won’t bloom 😢😢 I just don’t get it my neighbor has them also blooming like crazy every year.. 😡😡 😅 The yard is so pretty with all the flower’s you will get your hands in the soil and you will find a new peaceful place.😊

did you find out what animal lives in that huge hole!??
I'm pretty sure it's a groundhog.
Does your friend/landlord own the apple orchard?
He doesn’t the home was sold separately from the orchard. But they’re connected… it’s a long story 😂
Loooove this ❤❤❤ The magic of the Midwest in springtime 🌷🪻⚘️🌱 I think I need to get a peony bush!
Omg yes it is SO BEAUTIFUL! And I agree, the Midwest is so beautiful with its four seasons 🥹
