I have an earlier Santos but the one thing I love is the integrated stainless steel bracelet it really makes it a bracelet that happens to have a watch and that is why smaller watches are coming back for women, like the panther too. I think an integrated bracelet puts a watch in a separate category since it is really a total work of art and a much harder design problem to solve. Without the steel or gold bracelet it’s so much less impressive. Such a comfortable and smooth wearing design. Beautiful Santos congrats

Congratulations Tony on the watch and on another great episode. I love Cartier as well but at 53 and with diminishing eyesight, legibility has become almost the most important factor when I am choosing watches which is why I chose the large original white opaline dial over the blue and the green. I love the brown as well but it’s probably not for my eyes 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Keep bringing the great content as I follow you from India 🇮🇳

Awesome video and review as usual! I was interested to hear your take, especially after picking up the santos medium about a month ago! I think with that dial color, the large definitely looks and fits the watch better imho. I preferred the medium with the white dial, having a wrist about the same size, but I really like the large with the brown dial. It’s really cool that is has lume, too. Also, congrats on having what looks to still be a pretty scratch-free bezel lol. About a month in and I’ve definitely got scratches lol, but eh, that’ll happen and I’m fine with it. Funny you mention how some watches grow on you- that was me with the santos! They released that dual time at watches and wonders and I was like ok, NOW I want a cartier after never having any interest. Then the news about that darned movement and the price came out and turned me off, but the OG santos medium really started to grow on me I love it now that I actually own it. Maybe someday they’ll come to their senses with the dual time movement… No offense on the Walmart comment lol, it’s cheap but it’s one area I cut costs so I can put extra cash towards watches to wear while I shop there😅. Have a nice 4th!

I agree regarding the bad days while wearing a particular watch. If the person puts that watch on, tentatively thinking something g bad will happen, then he has “primed” his thinking to pick out the negative throughout the day. Flip it around! Wear it, and make a point to notice the good things around. Or, wear it at home while watching a favorite tv show (start small with good vibes!). 😎 😊

Nice one Tony. So since you put me onto the pasha I tried one in store and man they’re just so spectacular in person aren’t they. The whole medium/large santos argument has been bouncing around in my head for like 3 years now.. and as someone who edges on the side of preferring smaller watches, I was always thinking the medium would be the way to go.. but recently when I went in store and tried them on, I noticed that the proportions just felt better on the large. In truth, the mediums a touch too small and the large a touch too big for me, but if I do decide to pull the trigger I’d probably go the large these days. Congrats on the pick up, Cartiers are sick and like you I’m looking to expand my collection of them also!

Hi Tony! The Cartier we both were gonna buy was Dual Time till we found out Cartier was using a cheap Sellita movement. I think you made good choice picking brown dial although I prefer the bracelet over leather strap. You need a variety regarding color of dial, gets boring buying multiple blue dial only.🤔Not crazy about green dial when I saw it in person.

Beautiful watch man!!! Buyer’s remorse sucks, glad you got to bond with it. I kinda wish they’d do an in between size between the medium and the large. So the medium would become the small, large still be large, but then get a new medium 🤷🏼‍♂️ That being said, I love my medium santos..

That Santos is a sharp watch and dressy on that gator…! Beautiful dial TG, gorgeous with that blue cabachon… Really is stunning with the polished bezel on top of the brushed area… And I like that date at 6, similar to my Oris Aquis, very balanced… WOW that watch pops!…. I would contact “Strap a Watch” Michael who makes fantastic custom straps, including genuine and beautiful alligator… Check his RUclips channel out, watch him make straps and all his info is there too…. He could make a gator strap for that Santos that will blow you away…!

Hi Tony, I bought a Cartier 42 white Ballon Bleu instead of Santos and couldn’t be happier as a first watch. Insanely versatile. Didn’t want a scratch magnet as a first. However, might still get one later. Are the scratches always prominent or just in certain light?

You are right the straps are very low end material especially for a Cartier. Can buy same “looking” straps from other cheap internet stores

I had been stalking the Santos when you posted a video about getting this one (which was only about a week after I discovered your channel). My only hesitation on the Santos has been "is it too dressy". After seeing the brown dial on your wrist it looks sporty as hell, that's the trick for me then, brown dial. When it's back in stock. I love a brown dial, I've got the Datejust 41 chocolate two tone which is one of my favorite in my collection... I also have a Grand Seiko SBGE263, its a GMT but its a 110 piece limited USA edition with the brown Eagle feather dial, its easily the craziest dial I own and is mesmerizing to look at, but for whatever reason I don't wear it often That Santos brown doesnt seem to photograph well, but I bet its awesome in person, looks kinda like a vintage bronze tone or something.
