    Oyster bracelet for the Sport watches, Jubilee bracelet for the Datejust!

    The jubilee's smaller links conforms more to the wrist and breathes more in hotter weather.

    The Rolex Oyster bracelet is THE best piece of men’s jewellery, period. Fully brushed even better. I own four modern Rolex (including a DJ41) and they are all on oyster.

  • @rickliners6123
    @rickliners6123 5 месяцев назад +2

    I own both. The Jubilee on a DJ and the Oyster on a GMT M II. It seems to me the oyster looks more utilitarian and the jubilee more luxurious. Hence I feel like my watches are matched to the right bracelets. My wife has a SS&G DJ with a jubilee and that watch just looks finer, more luxurious with the Jubilee. The OP is a more utilitarian, down to basics watch and to me the oyster looks better on it.

    Those guys who can feel what’s more comfortable on the wrist, Jubilee or Oyster bracelets must have some very soft smooth delicate skin/wrists? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m thinking what’s comfortable or not is more bracelet/strap size tightness. The only time I notice any discomfort with my watches are with new leather straps that are not broken in. Unless it’s humid hot when the wrist swells up and rocking a leather strap.. But…. I feel the jubilee bracelet can hide hairline scratches and dings better than the oyster bracelet.I can wear a jubilee more freely without carrying what my wrist bumps to into.

    Great content Tony as usual. I too have both version of these bracelets. I find that you can wear both of them for
    Long periods of time and are equally as comfortable. If it’s hot and you are sweaty I find all steel bracelets to be a bit uncomfortable at that point. But you can’t go wrong with Rolexes bracelets or their steel. Their steel really is different to all other brands.

    I am fortunate enough to have two timepieces…the Pepsi and the submariner no date. The oyster, to me, is the OG. I’ve tried both options but feel the oyster is the most comfortable and not “in your face.” Obviously my personal opinion. You are blessed no matter what you have…including a citizen✌️

    As always another great video Tony. So I like you have both bracelets, but I don't really think about it. I've worn an explorer ll as a daily work watch for 25 years. Im so used to wearing a watch, that the bracelet doesn't cross my mind. When I wear my other watches be it a jubilee or oyster bracelet, I focus on the total watch. So to me watches like the Batgirl and Pepsi on jubilee bracelet just seen to be a given, almost mandatory. Either way in the end, what does it matter, you're wearing a Rolex baby!!! Take care and keep up the great content.

  • @Crackers2549

    That jubilee on your Batgirl is where it’s at Tony…! It compliments that watch so well, dresses it up, love it … I think both bracelets are terrific… I think the Jubilee makes a watch look dressier and has a bit more pop with the polished center links… The oyster a little more casual… The oyster works well with your OP in green and it looks more casual… Just my opinion brother… Jubilee a bit dressier, oyster more casual and both comparable in comfort… Another enjoyable video TG…💯👍 GG

      I definitely agree with that. I have no worries wearing my OP with brushed steel scratching. It’s definitely a casual look. I agree with your opinion.

    Great video Tony. I think the bracelet depends on the watch and what look you're going for. I'd love to get an OP on the jubilee. It looks so class.
    Question for next week- What's your opinion on Christopher Ward? They seem to be making headlines with everything they bring out at the moment and are producing very unique and classy looking watches. Do you think they are worth buying?

    Maybe I’m not discerning enough, but I love the feel of my GMT Pepsi and Kermit submariner (both oyster) as much as I do my DJ41 (jubilee). So idk…maybe Rolex just makes a dynamite watch regardless the bracelet.

    There's a certain amount of experience that only happens through ownership. Agreed that going to the AD and pulling a bracelet tight to your wrist only gives you a small glimpse as to how it will feel to wear.

    I agree with the neo vintage Rolex brackets being more comfortable then modern. I have a Zenith Daytona and a GMT Coke 16710. The best part of the Coke besides the bezel is the Rolex bracket jingle. Love that sound and the weight of these watches is perfect.

    does anybody know if rolex has the "danger zone"? its when youre not suppose to change the date from 9pm to 3am because you might damage the movement.

    • @talkingtimepieceswithtony

      Yes.

    • @g43654
      @g43654 5 месяцев назад +1

      I was told not to worry about this by my AD because the date change is instant on all modern Rolex.
      Other watches engage the date wheel a few hours before midnight, continuously turning it. I think that is where that danger zone comes from.

    And that's why "one & done" is impossibly hard! Especially if you have friends around you with a close wrist size & similar brand taste pieces to try on, then your brain gets anxiously scrambled & your bank account gets murdered! 🤣😂

    I didn't know that the older jubilee bracelets have hollow links. I think both are comfortable for me (oyster and modern jubilee), but I am partial to the look go the jubilee 😀

    Lighter watches are more comfortable. Wearing no watch is the most comfortable (unless you feel naked without one, which in that case, the whole circle comes around).

  • @dean5346
    @dean5346 5 месяцев назад +2

    I like both the jubilee and the oyster bracelet. I find them both comfortable. It depends more on my mood on what style I want to wear. They are made by Rolex quality is always going to be good. As long as the bracelet has some sort of 5mm extension, that’s is important to me. My old reference Rolex Kermit does not. So can get a little tight, uncomfortable in the summer time. I agree Tony the op 41 is super comfortable. Why I have no idea. May be the Rolex sub may be more heavy in weight compared to the op. What can I say try putting a rubber strap or natio strap if bracelet straps are not your thing. Or you could try the naked hand approach. And use your phone to tell the time🤣🤣😂. What ever floats your boat right Tony.

    ALSO!!!! The finishing makes a difference in comfort. For example, for me on me, I feel that the bracelet on an Omega Speedmaster 3861 has sharp machined edges. Compared to the older style bracelet from Omega or a Rolex bracelet. It’s not comfortable because the sharp edges. No it won’t cut you but the edges on the links are drastic and not as refined as a Rolex bracelet. I think that’s when I notice when a bracelet is comfortable or not. Don’t get me wrong, the new Speedmaster bracelet is awesome, but the edges need to be refined slightly.

    Tony I got a sub date as my first watch (very grateful) and no transaction history from the AD. Now I want a green OP. Do you think I should play the AD games and get some jewelery? Or do I continue waiting for the OP green? Do I ask for something else instead?

    I like your channel Tony! I don't own any jubilees - I really prefer the look of an oyster, in all brushed steel,. I think the best bracelet is the current submariner oyster with glidelock. you can get any fit, any time of day or temperature. it looks modern, with all brushed steel it's understated, but still classic rolex!

      Well, the SSW has a jubilee style. Quality is not the same. As far as the sub. Rolex sub does not have the option for a jubilee.
      But, either way. Enjoy your watches.
