Then I would go for the classic non date sub. They produce less Starbucks over the non date sub. It will be a few years to get one from the AD🤟.
Congrats on the new watch! Love the sunburst brown dial, reminds me of a classic Fender Strat :D There is something earthy (in a good way) about the brown dial compared to the blue and green.

Congrats on the purchase! I just picked up a Santos medium white dial two weeks ago and I freaking love it!! I really had to debate between the medium and large since both look great , and I somewhat surprised myself going with the medium, especially since prior to this my smallest watch was a BB58, but it does nothing but grow on me. It surprisingly doesn’t at all look “too small “ and that may be due to the shape like you said. It’s also a different direction in my collection due to the smaller size. I love the quick change and resize bracelet system too - the strap has been a lifesaver in recent high heat lol, and I go back and forth between both the bracelet and the strap. Never thought I would wear it on the strap but that’s been my default for the past week. Cartier has as much history, elegance, and panache as Rolex in a lot of ways imho, especially the Santos. And I say that as someone who owns Rolex as well. Is that version lumed? I know the Santos large seem to alternate with lume or no lume depending on the dial. It’s the one downside of my medium, but, I also think no lume on the medium fits the intent of the watch better. The cuff links are awesome too, even if you don’t use them much (I’d be the same way lol), that one time you wear a suit/tux you can have fun with them. Classic and classy watch. Wear it in good health!

Love the Santos Large. Even my dislike of flat head screws does not put me off too much. The flatter crystal on the crown looks much better than the sticky out one (if I got that detail correct). I think there is/was an XL Santos?

Very nice, I like it. Almost 2 years ago now, I bought (new) a Santos Blue large. Yet, I've only worn it a handful of times. Last time was Xmas Eve, so it's been 6 months now. For some reason, I cannot bond with it. I think if I wore a suit every day, it would a daily. Can't bring myself to sell or trade it yet. However, this brown dial and strap is a nice combo!
The Santos has been on my radar for years, and this new brown dial is a strong contender, looks sensational! And you're right, actually life is one big joke, I'm starting to think we shouldn't take ANYTHING seriously (took 53 years to get to this point lol).

A few months ago on your Q&A you advised me to buy the white dial Rolex Datejust over the silver dial Datejust which I did do and am so glad I took your advice as I simply love the white dial Datejust. I was now about to purchase the Cartier Santos large in green dial but after watching this video I am seriously thinking about going for this sunray brown dial. Please could you again give me your valuable advise and tell which model to go for. I know you mentioned that the green was a bit too dark but were there any other reasons you went for the brown over the green dial? Congrats!!! Cartier makes one of the best straps I think, only shadowed by Hermes. Take a look at the tank mc if you get chance, I got one last year and love it.
