Sup Tony I’ve got my eye on the Zenith Chronomaster Sport, black dial. Probably gonna be a while before I can buy it but damn that watch is just amazing. Thanks for the video. 😊
Tony. Thanks for flashing that Pilot. I just got my El Primero Pilot a few days ago. What an awesome watch. I have to say that I picked it over the Mark XX because of your many videos talking about it. Totally digging it. Thanks
..Zenith are so cool....radar under to say the least....one thing about the triple calendar's...small dial due to bezel, chapter rings + face complications...legability at first glance is everything....NB: I have the 1987 w. B&P's/receipt Tag F1 green 35mm..cost £ 68.00.......it's tiny...struggle to justify £1000+ now !!
The Zenith Defy Recivals are great. Good choice. I tend to gravitate towards the more toned down colorways such as the boutique edition. I own an El Primero Chronomaster Revival A385. It’s a stunning chronograph, though I rarely use the chronograph. As for the ladder bracelet, I was expecting to put in on a leather strap within a week. That hasn’t happened yet. I love the ladder, it’s is so true to the period and aesthetic. Very comfortable.
Hey, Tony. Not sure if this is a question you could answer for your next video, but what are your thoughts on Grand Seiko? Have you personally owned one before? I tried seeing if you already had a video on this but couldn't find much using video titles, so sorry if you already answered a similar question. I recently purchased my first one a month ago (the Hi-Beat with the green dial), and it's really given me an appreciation for the craftmanship they're doing. I know the die hard fans can be a bit insufferable, but I've been falling in love with it more and more to the point it gets more wrist time than my Rolex now. Hope this makes it for your next QNA!
Watches sometimes bring us back to are formative years and the kiff Heuer brings me back to my younger self, They are from the 90s , when it seemed like everyone had them on , wish they'd just brought out a tag instead of teaming up with a clothes brand , but that's just me mate, me buy watches with are hearts so good luck in getting one ,all the best from the UK 👍
Just got my Rolex Datejust 41 with mint green dial, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Time on waitlist: 20 months. It’s a stunning watch and very comfortable!
Hi Tony, I'm waiting for a datejust 36 with a white roman dial. Ive been waiting since January. I could take another version but I'd rather wait. I was offered the configufation with a smooth bezel but want the fluted. I'm not going to pay 7.5k GBP on something I dont like so I'll wait. The AD says they dont know what they're going to get month on month - essentially Rolex send what they want. That seems crazy?
I think if you can get past the crown, there is so many brands that are incredible. My father wore a SUB most of my life now I wear a PAM that has become my watch. Aside from picking a brand pick what fits you and you love at the end of the day no one cares about our watches really.
Hey Tony, Got a new question for you. I was just recently contacted by my local AD and chosen for the Rolex Submariner 41 date and recently purchased it. My question is the last time I was contacted by my sales rep and same AD for the sea dweller I got her a card and a gift card to a nice restaurant. Do you think that is appropriate to get your salesperson a small gift for choosing you for a watch? And if so what is your opinion for a thoughtful gift? I am only asking because I did it last time but have also read where it can be frowned upon. I personally don’t see the problem with it but wanted to get your thoughts and feedback since you have a lot more experience with buying watches and using the same AD/ Salesperson. Thanks and look forward to your thoughts and feedback.
Honestly the AD's can totally feel like a crap shoot. You never know when they call I got my call totally unexpected. I was following up every couple of months at first then I stopped; and got the call like 6 months later. That triple calendar looks nice Tony!
Wow that was a very engaging answer to my question. Thank you Tony. Well, your very first comment is definitely what applies to me: patience. Apparently I REALLY need to work on patience. My watch in question is actually the GMT Master II CHNR two-tone and I have been waiting about 6 weeks now. I was spoiled by my AD last year when they got me a new Sub in a very short time (shorter than 6 weeks). So damn yeah I will work on my patience. I will never go gray market, especially now that the cons and clones are so thick. I will definitely stay loyal to my AD (much due to gratitude for getting me the Sub so quickly). In the meantime I'll enjoy my Sub and carry on. The exercise in patience will be good for me. Thanks again and rock on.

People who act entitled don’t understand why they can’t buy what they want when they want. I always want to ask them, “At your job, would you go out of your way to help someone that treated you like a dumbass? No? Then why do you think the sales rep should go out of his way?! “ I hope you go for that Zenith revival, Tony!
the waiting game is a big part of what makes it exciting. If anyone could walk in and get a sub at any time it wouldn’t be as special. I don’t mind waiting for a watch. It’s a luxury purchase not an essential
Here’s my advice for Rolex waitlist. Take it from me as I know what works and what doesn’t work. I was on lists for two years and the figured out the game as I like to say. 1. Email the local AD or multiple if you have them. 2. Make sure you clean up any watch posts on social media or if you are in any forums. Make sure you are clean because these guys check. 3. At your first consult make sure you give them 3 models you really want and be ready to buy if they offer you one. 4. Follow up. My advice is follow up 1 time per month with an email. 1 time every other month by visiting the store. 5. Buy stuff from the store if you are going to buy other things they sell make sure you buy it there and your watch rep knows. 6. Have genuine conversations with your rep and make a genuine effort to have a relationship. It took me a long time to get any allocations and that was because I didn’t follow up and do the relationship thing. I have now gotten 4 allocations over the last 2 years. From two different ADs I’ve gotten 2 watches each. Im still waiting patiently for a sky dweller…so it still isn’t perfect.

(Thinking out loud in your comment section) I'm turning 50 shortly. I'm buying a Rolex to mark the amazement I've made it this far😂. The AD hasn't called for some hype pieces I have been on the list for to mark the occasion, so I'm taking the easy road for the added expense of going grey on a 2024 new/unworn mint green DJ smooth, on jubilee. It's gorgeous, and not the peoples popular combo. But it is still special, to me. Even if I walked in and bought this setup from an AD with tax included...there is only a 2500$ total difference between AD, and a grey market deal (trading in a OP39 which brings my taxes down). Tell me im stupid to not wait, play the game, waste time driving an hour to the AD to talk watches (as the market trends down). I feel the $2500 is worth the "Pay to Not Play". You?

Even the Rolex CPO Program is designed to scam buyers to make them pay way over Recommended Retail Price (RRP) which Rolex completely controls. Many of us are waking up to the real real, and realize that Rolex wants to cater to the top 1%. Fast forward to 2029/2030 when Rolex doubles its capacity and starts to deliver over 2 million units.
