Hornets are dying on dealer lots, replacement batteries are on intergallactic backorder. Major quality issues throughout the entire vehicle. Almost seems like the Hornets are the Tonales that failed QC inspection. Not to mention hideously overpriced for what it is.
The GT model (gas only, NOT the R/T hybrid) is a little better, runs well but again, overpriced and definitely NOT a muscle car.

Hornet doesn't interest me, shame they ruined the name, the 70's version was cooler. That said, I am interested in the 2.0 4 cylinder, if i've heard right it's based off the Hurricane TT Inline 6 I see the potential for a compact car possibly a full out race setup based off a small FWD (race conversion for a promod type chassis of course) running against the small 4 bangers in the 6 and 7 second quarter miles wars. I can even see these with the right mods being a lightweight engine for like a Plymouth arrow for a new style street cruiser or even an autocross type racer

The best thing Dodge Manufacturer Company can do right now:
Is to leave it's Parent company Stellantis...
Bring back the viper, a "baby viper", the Dakota (small affordable truck), the Coronet (sedan, 4door, 2door, & convertible), reignite The Plymouth brand with a few great older names with performance, compactable, & AFFORDABILITY IN MIND... put the theme of: "FUN, exciting & practicality" back in their minds when designing & creating new vehicles... oh, & bring back the caravan for the kid-hauler... & in process of all the dust, launch a new Roadrunner...
that could be the ultimate flipping the Stellantis parent company the bird as Dodge goes back to making great vehicles & leaving the Stellantis house behind in the dust.

    • @aaronfarnsworth7653
      @aaronfarnsworth7653 Месяц назад +1

They would have to buy themselves out of Stellantis' hands and that would probably be a decade long process if they were lucky. It would make for quite a comeback story if they could pull it off. Similar to HD getting out from under AMF. Each new car sale gets 1 share? Get a car and a piece of the company. A very tiny symbolic piece but still.
Use Ed O'Neill in "Al Bundy" form.
"Uh, Kids - or should I say, lackeys of the green devil Thunberg. I need your help. Dodge is in trouble. Come my children, to the garage. We Bundy three will guard against those who would pillage and plunder performance to leave us with the soft whirring of an appliance only your mother could love."
"Now Listen to me Peg. You can nag, you can cry, you can whinny, bleat and moo, but I will never sell the Dodge."
"To the Vroomy Bar!" (dealer showroom)
"Would you look at the lung capacity on that beauty, Jefferson? 3.0 liters of supercharged suck and blow, energizing 6.4 liters of Hemi power. The only whining a man finds appealing."
"Tomorrow I will drive out, Al Bundy, old Dodge owner and drive back in, Al Bundy, new Demon owner."
A No Ma'am First Edition? Maybe Elon Musk would like to branch out into ICE automobiles? He could sell all of his yearly Tesla credits to his Dodge corporation so that all Dodges can be Hemi powered.
Except the Hornet, that goes back to the frog eaters.
A wino couple walk up to the desperate Stellantis employees trying to sell Hornets.
Wino guy - "We're a couple winos who don't want to drink and drive."
Wino gal - "So we wanna buy a hornet. Here's your 40 bucks."
Stellantis - "$40? It was supposed to say $40,000."
Wino guy - "Hey, we're not that drunk."

They tried to evoke the K-car/Neon tradition and even showed an Omni GLH-inspired version but then came in hot with a $30k base price and most early-build cars being optioned up to around $40k. Get the price/value proposition right and it might still be a decent seller. It's not *bad* from what we know so far but it's not worth what they want for it.

Stellantis doesn’t care about sales in America because somehow they make money worldwide. The Hemi engines were made in Mexico 🇲🇽 and as far as I know the challenger Hellcat was assembled in Canada. Therefore it seems that it wasn’t living up to being an “American” brand. With that out of the way, I’d like to pickup a narrow body Hellcat in late May. 😀

Give it to some RUclipsrs like yourself for a month or two to review give them the results only. On what can be improved and take it from there honestly. I’m an old man like yourself Dodge lost me years ago. The cars from the late 60s and 70s All had automatic transmission problems and ballast resistors In 1980 I fixed their problematic Lindenberg system got a hold of Chrysler and honestly they did. They gave me a brand new 1981 Chrysler Cordova for the fix then, of course, the Dodge truck problems, same deal mainly automatic transmissions the problem is Dodge/Jeep has a very bad reputation for reliability and breakdowns and be honest just like Ford Chevrolet has problems with their cam and lifter scenario so they wonder why I have German and Japanese vehicles now for the most part, but I do have a Chevy pick up

Chrysler 300 Dodge Charger/Challenger, check the sales, over the past 5-7 years. Now, add up ALL the alfas and other talian sales over the same period (or hell, look at 10 years for the FiatAlfa lines).
Who in there right mind would chose to invest ANY $ in those Italian lines ?
Of course you would do new chrysler/dodge products, and relegate the italians to last decade tech. OF COURSE YOU WOULD.
Now, our VIPER. You guys know how bad EVERY manufacturer wants and needs the Halo car. Viper should have been re designed, hell just follow Corvette if you forgot what Iacocca did. Now, after building a decent couple decades on the street and track, for a fraction of Ford GT money, LETS JUST develop a big, over weight sedan chassis to replace it?, and TRASH the Vipers future?. (Handbuilt monster is what the Viper is.)
Mother Mopar has BEEN dead guys, we were just on BlownHemi life support…..
Ram/Jeep will be lucky to survive.
