Road Construction
Road construction is a huge safety concern. In 2022 over 37,000 accidents happened in the United States in road construction. Not only are road construction zones a safety concern for the workers but also for us drivers.
We can make a difference for us and road construction workers simply by slowing posted traffic control signs while in these areas. Traffic signs that are proven to work when followed.
We also need to practice patience while we are in these areas which can be easy t do if we respect the workers temporarily slowing us down so they can improve and maintain the roads we drive on.

Our very first workplace behavior was Get It Done. This was driven by a need for survival. The first humans had to build defenses, shelter, forage, find sources of heat or they would not survive. Their physiological needs overtook their safety needs. But we have evolved in how we work. We no longer work just to survive. So our workplace behaviors should also evolve. Especially as Occupational h...

Often we do not even realize we are forming a habit or how many habits dictate our day. Safety & Habits takes a look at how habits are formed and why we form so many habits. This empowers the viewer to take control of their habits and shape t...

It is summer and that is when people tend to drive faster. There's No Such Thing As The Fast Lane looks at the perception we have about the left lane on the highway. That sign means that traffic going at or below the speed limit are to stay right. Yet, many have added...

Driving fast can be safe with good lane discipline. The biggest problem even in the states is left lane campers refusing to move over to let someone pass and that disrupts the flow of traffic which is way more dangerous than speeding.

yeh. one of my worst fears is dying on the job or even just getting injured on the job because as you say it doesn't take much extra time or effort to be safe, and it is not worth dying for the risk of making a little bit of extra money or saving 5 minutes of time

This is probably mature advice. My wife is anxious and overly controlling, in general. So her backseat driving is part of that. I feel like saying “thank you” to her countless comments just gives in to her control, and not all of her comments are correct. Some distract me. So I feel conflicted on how to handle all of the unsolicited advice.

Thanks! I have been looking all over the internet for good videos about the importance of safety and especially the "Normalization of Deviance" phenomenon. So far your channel is the most powerful I have found. Thank you so much for what you do! I am a fan. My partner is only missing the tip of his ring finger from an early childhood injury and he never knew he was going to be a guitarist and keyboardist until he got older. Just from that he cannot make a normal guitar chord. But he is great none the less. I am glad you are able to skate, play golf, and tie your shoes. I don't think you mentioned the $20 leather gloves in this video, but I saw that in one of your others. That was a very very powerful story to advocate proper safety. I am here because of a giant pool leak in the building I live in, but trying to explain building safety to residents and hoas is not easy. There is a lot of resistance. Thank you so much! You need more viewers and subscribers, you are doing a great service to human-kind!

I just attended the Nebraska 811 Excavator Safety Summit yesterday. I was fortunate to be able to hear your testimony of your horrific accident. As I tried to envision you at that very moment, I could only see God protecting you just enough to give you the chance to live and take both yours and his message to the world. I always wonder why God allows some of these destructive things to happen in our sin filled world. I never really get a clear answer. But I do know that EVERYTHING is for his GLORY ! I will be subscribing to your channel and will use your monthly message in my shop. God Bless you !
