Road Construction
Road construction is a huge safety concern. In 2022 over 37,000 accidents happened in the United States in road construction. Not only are road construction zones a safety concern for the workers but also for us drivers.
We can make a difference for us and road construction workers simply by slowing posted traffic control signs while in these areas. Traffic signs that are proven to work when followed.
We also need to practice patience while we are in these areas which can be easy t do if we respect the workers temporarily slowing us down so they can improve and maintain the roads we drive on.

Especially as Occupational h...

There's No Such Thing As The Fast Lane!

It is summer and that is when people tend to drive faster. There's No Such Thing As The Fast Lane looks at the perception we have about the left lane on the highway. The street sign Slower Traffic Keep Right has been interpreted as the left lane is for faster traffic. But that is not the case. That sign means that traffic going at or below the speed limit are to stay right. Yet, many have added...

Living with Risk: Endemic Life with COVID-19
Driving fast can be safe with good lane discipline. The biggest problem even in the states is left lane campers refusing to move over to let someone pass and that disrupts the flow of traffic which is way more dangerous than speeding.
yeh. one of my worst fears is dying on the job or even just getting injured on the job because as you say it doesn't take much extra time or effort to be safe, and it is not worth dying for the risk of making a little bit of extra money or saving 5 minutes of time
Awareness is the fuel that drives corrective action - thank you Spencer
I'm in the middle of a Turnaround right now and your message is very fitting! Thanks Bill Guy HSE Manager Fluor Driver Suncor Sarnia ,Ontario
Yoooo deadpool can I get an autograph
This is probably mature advice. My wife is anxious and overly controlling, in general. So her backseat driving is part of that. I feel like saying “thank you” to her countless comments just gives in to her control, and not all of her comments are correct. Some distract me. So I feel conflicted on how to handle all of the unsolicited advice.
Good luck with your channel!
Hi Spencer, its very positive to see you..... how much time it took for you to literally sit on the ground folded legs after injury. I would like to know for my help.
Excellent message Spencer, I am working on recognizing poor habits within my work space.
Thanks Spence and much love to you my man. I am a Safety Speacilist here is south Louisiana and will be using your video. Keep your head up and the good work.
Love this! So logical.
Excellent video. I really appreciate your work.
Thanks! I have been looking all over the internet for good videos about the importance of safety and especially the "Normalization of Deviance" phenomenon. So far your channel is the most powerful I have found. Thank you so much for what you do! I am a fan. My partner is only missing the tip of his ring finger from an early childhood injury and he never knew he was going to be a guitarist and keyboardist until he got older. Just from that he cannot make a normal guitar chord. But he is great none the less. I am glad you are able to skate, play golf, and tie your shoes. I don't think you mentioned the $20 leather gloves in this video, but I saw that in one of your others. That was a very very powerful story to advocate proper safety. I am here because of a giant pool leak in the building I live in, but trying to explain building safety to residents and hoas is not easy. There is a lot of resistance. Thank you so much! You need more viewers and subscribers, you are doing a great service to human-kind!
Thank you! This should have more views!
I just listened to you today at International paper and it was a pleasure meeting you
❤

Great safety message! Thank you, Spencer, for reminding us of the importance of speaking up when we feel our safety is at stake.
Your welcome. I feel this is a great example that highlights the need to adjust how we take criticism.
Great video! Happy, healthy, and safe new year Spencer.
Thank you, you are incredible. Admirable doesn't cover it even closely.
Wow, thank you!
Great video Spencer! This one hits home for me,really liked the perspective of adjusting the time to meet the conditions rather than adjusting the behaviors to meet the time
I am happy to hear the video helped.
Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us. Much appreciation bud. 💯%.
Well said!
Great advice Spencer.
Keep up the awareness Spencer
Great Message Spencer!
Thank you. We rush too often and often we don't really achieve anything more by rushing
Powerful stuff. Thank you for sharing.
I am glad you found value in this. Stay safe
Thank you Spencer!
This is very good. I’m going to use this for our April 28th toolbox talk. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing the video with your crew
I just attended the Nebraska 811 Excavator Safety Summit yesterday. I was fortunate to be able to hear your testimony of your horrific accident. As I tried to envision you at that very moment, I could only see God protecting you just enough to give you the chance to live and take both yours and his message to the world. I always wonder why God allows some of these destructive things to happen in our sin filled world. I never really get a clear answer. But I do know that EVERYTHING is for his GLORY ! I will be subscribing to your channel and will use your monthly message in my shop. God Bless you !
We have a lot of the same things are our list, my friend. Keep spreading the word of safety, before someone else adds to their list of lasts.
Boss Steve I have already done watching the video you sent. Thanks for reminding having long patience for everything.
You hit the nail to the head with this example Spencer. I was on the passenger seat, I was the spouse and I could see the hazzard but didn't speak. I regret it to this day. The results were devastating. Thank you for sharing. Happy and safe 2022 to you and your family.
This is so educational! Thank you Spencer for your dedication to safety!
Great points about recognizing hazards. Thank you. New attitude "I won't let it happen to me"
Cheers. It is the difference of being reactive or proactive
I remember watching this when I was younger. What year was this?
It had to be around 2008
Thanks for sharing Spencer
Your welcome. Keep moving the bar forward.
I could not agree more, great video Spencer. Safety should never be sacrificed for production.
I feel that workers need to understand this better as I have heard countless CEO's and other leaders share this message.
well done Spencer
Thank you
