This Safety Minute is designed to inform people about workers compensation to ensure they utilize these protections if ever needed.
Throughout history injured workers received no aid if hurt on the job. Workers and families were left to suffer alone. In today's modern systems there are workers that choose to not seek workers compensation when injured at work. They willing choose to suffer alone. Often it is because they do not feel the injury is severe or out of fear of the employers reaction. Even a minor injury not properly treated can add up to a chronic lifelong injury.
Workers compensation is a protection won through countless loss and suffering of other injured workers. We honor those who have gone before us, our families, ourselves and our employers when we seek medical aid through an injury. It allows us to return back to work at 100% where we can be productive and provide at our best ability.
