  • This video shares how being safe is really not hard to do. It is not hard to use PPE, fill out forms, look around and control hazards, speak up when you have a concern or refuse unsafe work. Safety is really not hard.
    This is the first of three videos sharing my safety beliefs. These beliefs were developed to help me control risk when life circumstances challenge me to rush, speed up, break rules or cut corners. By reminding myself that being safe is not hard takes away the perceived time pressure I put on myself which allows me then to control the risk while still completing my task.
    The next two safety beliefs to follow are:
    1) You can't be safe on your own, and
    2) Safe work always gets done

    yeh. one of my worst fears is dying on the job or even just getting injured on the job because as you say it doesn't take much extra time or effort to be safe, and it is not worth dying for the risk of making a little bit of extra money or saving 5 minutes of time
